4 Mose 3

1 Dies sind die Nachkommen Aarons [und Moses] zu der Zeit, als der HERR mit Mose auf dem Berge Sinai redete.

Now these are the generations of Aaron and Moses in the day that the LORD spoke with Moses in mount Sinai.

2 Und zwar sind dies die Namen der Söhne Aarons: der Erstgeborene war Nadab, sodann Abihu, Eleasar und Ithamar.

And these are the names of the sons of Aaron: Nadab the first-born, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.

3 Dies sind die Namen der Söhne Aarons, der gesalbten Priester, die in ihr Amt eingesetzt worden waren, um den Priesterdienst zu verrichten.

These are the names of the sons of Aaron, the priests that were anointed, whom he consecrated to minister in the priest's office.

4 Aber Nadab und Abihu starben (im Dienst) vor dem HERRN, als sie in der Wüste Sinai ein ungehöriges Feueropfer vor dem HERRN darbrachten, und hatten keine Söhne. So versahen denn Eleasar und Ithamar den Priesterdienst unter der Aufsicht ihres Vaters Aaron.

And Nadab and Abihu died before the LORD, when they offered strange fire before the LORD, in the wilderness of Sinai, and they had no children; and Eleazar and Ithamar ministered in the priest's office in the presence of Aaron their father.

5 Der HERR gebot aber dem Mose folgendes:

And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying:

6 »Laß den Stamm Levi herantreten und stelle ihn vor den Priester Aaron, damit sie ihm Dienste leisten;

'Bring the tribe of Levi near, and set them before Aaron the priest, that they may minister unto him.

7 denn sie sollen alles das besorgen, was ihm und was der ganzen Gemeinde vor dem Offenbarungszelt zu beobachten obliegt, so daß sie den Dienst an der heiligen Wohnung verrichten.

And they shall keep his charge, and the charge of the whole congregation before the tent of meeting, to do the service of the tabernacle.

8 Sie sollen also die sämtlichen Geräte des Offenbarungszeltes und alles besorgen, was den Israeliten zu besorgen obliegt, und so den Dienst an der heiligen Wohnung versehen.

And they shall keep all the furniture of the tent of meeting, and the charge of the children of Israel, to do the service of the tabernacle.

9 Du sollst also die Leviten dem Aaron und seinen Söhnen beigeben; ganz zu eigen sollen sie ihm von seiten der Israeliten überwiesen sein.

And thou shalt give the Levites unto Aaron and to his sons; they are wholly given unto him from the children of Israel.

10 Aaron aber und seine Söhne sollst du dazu bestellen, daß sie ihres Priesteramts warten; ein Unbefugter aber, der das Amt ausübt, soll sterben.«

And thou shalt appoint Aaron and his sons, that they may keep their priesthood; and the common man that draweth nigh shall be put to death.'

11 Weiter sagte der HERR zu Mose folgendes:

And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying:

12 »Wisse wohl: ich selbst habe die Leviten aus der Mitte der Israeliten herausgenommen als Ersatz für alle Erstgeborenen, als Ersatz für alle Kinder, die unter den Israeliten zuerst zur Welt gekommen sind, damit die Leviten mir gehören.

'And I, behold, I have taken the Levites from among the children of Israel instead of every first-born that openeth the womb among the children of Israel; and the Levites shall be Mine;

13 Denn mir gehören alle Erstgeborenen; an dem Tage, als ich alle Erstgeburten im Lande Ägypten sterben ließ, habe ich mir alles Erstgeborene in Israel geweiht sowohl von Menschen als auch von Tieren: mir sollen sie gehören, mir, dem HERRN.«

for all the first-born are Mine: on the day that I smote all the first-born in the land of Egypt I hallowed unto Me all the first-born in Israel, both man and beast, Mine they shall be: I am the LORD.'

14 Hierauf gebot der HERR dem Mose in der Wüste Sinai folgendes:

And the LORD spoke unto Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, saying:

15 »Mustere die Leviten nach ihren Familien und nach ihren Geschlechtern; alle männlichen Personen von einem Monat an und darüber sollst du bei ihnen mustern.«

'Number the children of Levi by their fathers' houses, by their families; every male from a month old and upward shalt thou number them.'

16 Da nahm Mose nach dem Befehl des HERRN die Musterung bei ihnen vor, wie ihm geboten worden war.

And Moses numbered them according to the word of the LORD, as he was commanded.

17 Und dies waren die Söhne Levis mit ihren Namen: Gerson, Kehath und Merari.

And these were the sons of Levi by their names: Gershon, and Kohath, and Merari.

18 Und dies sind die Namen der Söhne Gersons nach ihren Geschlechtern: Libni und Simei;

And these are the names of the sons of Gershon by their families: Libni and Shimei.

19 und die Söhne Kehaths nach ihren Geschlechtern: Amram und Jizhar, Hebron und Ussiel;

And the sons of Kohath by their families: Amram and Izhar, Hebron and Uzziel.

20 und die Söhne Meraris nach ihren Geschlechtern: Mahli und Musi. Das sind die Geschlechter der Leviten nach ihren Familien.

And the sons of Merari by their families: Mahli and Mushi. These are the families of the Levites according to their fathers' houses.

21 Von Gerson stammt also das Geschlecht der Libniten und das Geschlecht der Simeiten; dies sind die Geschlechter der Gersoniten.

Of Gershon was the family of the Libnites, and the family of the Shimeites; these are the families of the Gershonites.

22 Ihre Gemusterten, nach der Zahl aller männlichen Personen bei ihnen von einem Monat an und darüber, beliefen sich auf 7500.

Those that were numbered of them, according to the number of all the males, from a month old and upward, even those that were numbered of them were seven thousand and five hundred.

23 Die Geschlechter der Gersoniten lagerten hinter der heiligen Wohnung gegen Westen;

The families of the Gershonites were to pitch behind the tabernacle westward;

24 und der Fürst des Hauses der Gersoniten war Eljasaph, der Sohn Laels.

the prince of the fathers' house of the Gershonites being Eliasaph the son of Lael,

25 Die Dienstleistung der Gersoniten im Offenbarungszelt betraf die heilige Wohnung und das Zeltdach, seine Überdecke und den Vorhang am Eingang des Offenbarungszeltes,

and the charge of the sons of Gershon in the tent of meeting the tabernacle, and the Tent, the covering thereof, and the screen for the door of the tent of meeting,

26 ferner die Umhänge des Vorhofs und den Vorhang am Eingang des Vorhofs, der die heilige Wohnung und den Altar rings umgab, sowie die zugehörigen Seile nebst allem, was es dabei zu tun gab.

and the hangings of the court, and the screen for the door of the court — which is by the tabernacle, and by the altar, round about—and the cords of it, even whatsoever pertaineth to the service thereof.

27 Von Kehath stammt das Geschlecht der Amramiten sowie das Geschlecht der Jizhariten, das Geschlecht der Hebroniten und das Geschlecht der Ussieliten: dies sind die Geschlechter der Kehathiten.

And of Kohath was the family of the Amramites, and the family of the Izharites, and the family of the Hebronites, and the family of the Uzzielites; these are the families of the Kohathites:

28 Ihre Gemusterten, nach der Zahl aller männlichen Personen von einem Monat an und darüber, beliefen sich auf 8600, denen der Dienst im Heiligtum oblag.

according to the number of all the males, from a month old and upward, eight thousand and six hundred, keepers of the charge of the sanctuary.

29 Die Geschlechter der Kehathiten lagerten an der südlichen Längsseite der heiligen Wohnung;

The families of the sons of Kohath were to pitch on the side of the tabernacle southward;

30 und das Familienoberhaupt der Geschlechter der Kehathiten war Elizaphan, der Sohn Ussiels.

the prince of the fathers' house of the families of the Kohathites being Elizaphan the son of Uzziel,

31 Ihre Dienstleistung betraf die Lade und den Tisch, den Leuchter, die Altäre, die heiligen Geräte, die beim Dienst gebraucht wurden, ferner den Vorhang (vor dem Allerheiligsten) nebst allem, was es dabei zu tun gab.

and their charge the ark, and the table, and the candlestick, and the altars, and the vessels of the sanctuary wherewith the priests minister, and the screen, and all that pertaineth to the service thereof;

32 Das Oberhaupt der Levitenoberhäupter aber war Eleasar, der Sohn des Priesters Aaron; er hatte die Aufsicht über die, welche Dienste am Heiligtum zu leisten hatten.

Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest being prince of the princes of the Levites, and having the oversight of them that keep the charge of the sanctuary.

33 Von Merari stammte das Geschlecht der Mahliten und das Geschlecht der Musiten; dies sind die Geschlechter Meraris.

Of Merari was the family of the Mahlites, and the family of the Mushites; these are the families of Merari.

34 Ihre Gemusterten, nach der Zahl aller männlichen Personen von einem Monat an und darüber, beliefen sich auf 6200.

And those that were numbered of them, according to the number of all the males, from a month old and upward, were six thousand and two hundred;

35 Das Familienoberhaupt der Geschlechter Meraris war Zuriel, der Sohn Abihails. Sie lagerten an der nördlichen Längsseite der heiligen Wohnung;

the prince of the fathers' house of the families of Merari being Zuriel the son of Abihail; they were to pitch on the side of the tabernacle northward;

36 und die Dienstleistung der Merariten betraf die Bretter der heiligen Wohnung sowie ihre Riegel, ihre Säulen und Füße nebst allen zugehörigen Geräten und allem, was es dabei zu tun gab,

the appointed charge of the sons of Merari being the boards of the tabernacle, and the bars thereof, and the pillars thereof, and the sockets thereof, and all the instruments thereof, and all that pertaineth to the service thereof;

37 ferner die Säulen des Vorhofs ringsum nebst ihren Füßen, ihren Pflöcken und Seilen.

and the pillars of the court round about, and their sockets, and their pins, and their cords.

38 Diejenigen aber, welche vor der heiligen Wohnung nach Osten hin, vor dem Offenbarungszelt gegen Sonnenaufgang, lagerten, waren Mose und Aaron mit seinen Söhnen, die den Dienst am Heiligtum zu verrichten hatten, nämlich alles das, was den Israeliten dabei zu besorgen oblag. – Der Unbefugte aber, der den Dienst ausübte, sollte sterben.

And those that were to pitch before the tabernacle eastward, before the tent of meeting toward the sunrising, were Moses, and Aaron and his sons, keeping the charge of the sanctuary, even the charge for the children of Israel; and the common man that drew nigh was to be put to death.

39 Die Kopfzahl sämtlicher Leviten, die Mose und Aaron auf Befehl des HERRN nach ihren Geschlechtern gemustert hatten, alle männlichen Personen von einem Monat an und darüber, belief sich auf 22000.

All that were numbered of the Levites, whom Moses and Aaron numbered at the commandment of the LORD, by their families, all the males from a month old and upward, were twenty and two thousand.

40 Weiter gebot der HERR dem Mose: »Mustere nun auch alle männlichen Erstgeborenen bei den Israeliten von einem Monat an und darüber und nimm die Zahl ihrer Namen auf.

And the LORD said unto Moses: 'Number all the first-born males of the children of Israel from a month old and upward, and take the number of their names.

41 Du sollst aber die Leviten für mich, den HERRN, als Ersatz für alle Erstgeborenen unter den Israeliten nehmen und ebenso das Vieh der Leviten als Ersatz für alle Erstgeburten unter dem Vieh der Israeliten.«

And thou shalt take the Levites for Me, even the LORD, instead of all the first-born among the children of Israel; and the cattle of the Levites instead of all the firstlings among the cattle of the children of Israel.'

42 So musterte denn Mose alle Erstgeborenen unter den Israeliten, wie der HERR ihm geboten hatte;

And Moses numbered, as the LORD commanded him, all the first-born among the children of Israel.

43 und es belief sich die Gesamtzahl der männlichen Erstgeborenen, nach der Zahl der Namen von einem Monat an und darüber, soviele ihrer gemustert waren, auf 22273.

And all the first-born males according to the number of names, from a month old and upward, of those that were numbered of them, were twenty and two thousand two hundred and threescore and thirteen.

44 Hierauf gebot der HERR dem Mose folgendes:

And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying:

45 »Nimm die Leviten als Ersatz für alle Erstgeborenen unter den Israeliten und das Vieh der Leviten als Ersatz für das Vieh jener, damit die Leviten mir gehören, mir, dem HERRN.

'Take the Levites instead of all the first-born among the children of Israel, and the cattle of the Levites instead of their cattle; and the Levites shall be Mine, even the LORD'S.

46 Was aber den Loskauf der 273 israelitischen Erstgeborenen betrifft, welche über die Zahl der Leviten überschüssig sind,

And as for the redemption of the two hundred and three score and thirteen of the first-born of the children of Israel, that are over and above the number of the Levites,

47 so sollst du fünf Schekel für jeden Kopf erheben; nach dem Gewicht des Heiligtums sollst du sie erheben, den Schekel zu zwanzig Gera gerechnet.

thou shalt take five shekels apiece by the poll; after the shekel of the sanctuary shalt thou take them — the shekel is twenty gerahs.

48 Dies Geld sollst du als Lösegeld für die, welche überzählig bei ihnen sind, Aaron und seinen Söhnen übergeben.«

And thou shalt give the money wherewith they that remain over of them are redeemed unto Aaron and to his sons.'

49 So erhob denn Mose das Loskaufgeld von denen, welche über die durch die Leviten Ausgelösten überzählig waren;

And Moses took the redemption-money from them that were over and above them that were redeemed by the Levites;

50 von den Erstgeborenen der Israeliten erhob er das Geld, 1365 Schekel, nach dem Gewicht des Heiligtums.

from the first-born of the children of Israel took he the money: a thousand three hundred and threescore and five shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary.

51 Dann übergab Mose das Lösegeld dem Aaron und seinen Söhnen nach dem Befehl des HERRN, wie der HERR dem Mose geboten hatte.

And Moses gave the redemption-money unto Aaron and to his sons, according to the word of the LORD, as the LORD commanded Moses.
