Nehemia 3

1 Hierauf machte sich der Hohepriester Eljasib mit seinen Amtsgenossen, den Priestern, daran, das Schaftor neu zu bauen; das weihten sie und setzten seine Torflügel ein und führten dann den Bau weiter bis zum Turm Hammea, den sie weihten, und bis zum Turm Hananeel.

Then arose Eliashib the hie Priest with his brethren the Priestes, and they buylt the sheepegate: they repayred it, and set vp the doores thereof: euen vnto the tower of Meah repayred they it, and vnto the tower of Hananeel.

2 Neben ihnen bauten die Männer von Jericho; und neben ihnen baute Sakkur, der Sohn Imris.

And next vnto him buylded the men of Iericho, and beside him Zaccur the sonne of Imri.

3 Sodann das Fischtor baute die Familie Senaa; sie führten das Gebälk auf und setzten seine Torflügel, seine Klammern und Riegel ein.

But the fish port did the sonnes of Senaah buylde, which also layde the beames thereof, and set on the doores thereof, the lockes thereof, and the barres thereof.

4 Neben ihnen besserte Meremoth aus, der Sohn Urias, des Sohnes des Hakkoz; und neben ihm besserte Mesullam aus, der Sohn Berechjas, des Sohnes Mesesabeels; und neben ihm besserte Zadok aus, der Sohn Baanas.

And next vnto them fortified Merimoth, the sonne of Vrijah, the sonne of Hakkoz: and next vnto them fortified Meshullam, the sonne of Berechiah, the sonne of Meshezabeel: and next vnto them fortified Zadok, the sonne of Baana:

5 Ihm zur Seite besorgten die Thekoiter die Ausbesserung, aber die Vornehmen unter ihnen hatten ihren Nacken nicht unter den Dienst ihres Herrn (Nehemia) gebeugt.

And next vnto them fortified the Tekoites: but the great men of them put not their neckes to the worke of their lordes.

6 Das Tor der Altstadt besserten Jojada, der Sohn Paseahs, und Mesullam, der Sohn Besodjas aus; sie führten das Gebälk auf und setzten seine Torflügel, seine Klammern und seine Riegel ein.

And the gate of the olde fishpoole fortified Iehoiada the sonne of Paseah, and Meshullam the sonne of Besodaiah: they laid the beames thereof, and set on the doores thereof, and the lockes thereof, and the barres thereof.

7 Neben ihnen besserten der Gibeoniter Melatja und der Meronothiter Jadon aus samt den Leuten von Gibeon und Mizpa, die zum Gerichtsstuhl des Statthalters der Provinz auf der Westseite des Euphrats gehörten.

Next vnto them also fortified Melatiah the Gibeonite, and Iadon the Meronothite, men of Gibeon, and of Mizpah, vnto the throne of the Duke, which was beyond the Riuer.

8 Neben ihnen besserte Ussiel aus, der Sohn Harhajas, und die Zunft der Goldschmiede; und ihnen zur Seite besserte Hananja, einer von der Zunft der Salbenhändler, Jerusalem bis an die breite Mauer aus.

Next vnto him fortified Vzziel the sonne of Harhohiah of the golde smithes: next vnto him also fortified Hananiah, the sonne of Harakkahim, and they repayred Ierusalem vnto the broad wall.

9 Neben ihnen arbeitete Rephaja, der Sohn Hurs, der Vorsteher der einen Hälfte des Bezirks Jerusalem.

Also next vnto them fortified Rephaiah, the sonne of Hur, the ruler of the halfe part of Ierusalem.

10 Neben ihnen besserte Jedaja aus, der Sohn Harumaphs, und zwar seinem Hause gegenüber; und neben ihm besserte Hattus aus, der Sohn Hasabnejas.

And next vnto him fortified Iedaiah the sonne of Harumaph, euen ouer against his house: and next vnto him fortified Hattush, the sonne of Hashabniah.

11 Eine zweite Strecke besserte Malkija, der Sohn Harims, und Hasub, der Sohn Pahath-Moabs, aus, auch den Ofenturm.

Malchiiah the sonne of Harim, and Hashub the sonne of Pahath Moab fortified the seconde porcion, and the tower of the fornaces.

12 Neben ihnen besserte Sallum aus, der Sohn des Hallohes, der Vorsteher der andern Hälfte des Bezirks Jerusalem, er und seine Töchter.

Next vnto him also fortified Shallum, the sonne of Halloesh, the ruler of the halfe part of Ierusalem, he, and his daughters.

13 Das Taltor besserten Hanun und die Bewohner von Sanoah aus; sie bauten es auf und setzten seine Türen, seine Klammern und Riegel ein und arbeiteten noch tausend Ellen weiter an der Mauer bis zum Misttor. –

The valley gate fortified Hanum, and the inhabitants of Zanuah: they buylt it, and set on the doores thereof, the lockes thereof, and the barres thereof, euen a thousand cubites on the wall vnto the dung porte.

14 Das Misttor selbst aber besserte Malkija aus, der Sohn Rechabs, der Vorsteher des Bezirks Beth-Cherem; er baute es auf und setzte seine Torflügel, seine Klammern und Riegel ein. –

But the dung port fortified Malchiah, the sonne of Rechab, the ruler of the fourth part of Beth-haccarem: he built it, and set on the doores thereof, the lockes thereof, and the barres thereof.

15 Das Quellentor besserte Sallun aus, der Sohn Kol-Hoses, der Vorsteher des Bezirks Mizpa; er baute es auf, überdachte es und setzte seine Torflügel, seine Klammern und Riegel ein; dazu die Mauer am Teich der Wasserleitung beim Königsgarten und bis an die Stufen, die von der Davidsstadt herabführen.

But the gate of the fountaine fortified Shallun, the sonne of Col-hozeh, the ruler of the fourth part of Mizpah: he builded it, and couered it, and set on the doores thereof, the lockes thereof, and the barres thereof, and the wall vnto the fishpoole of Shelah by the Kings garden, and vnto the steppes that goe downe from the citie of Dauid.

16 Nächst ihm besserte Nehemia aus, der Sohn Asbuks, der Vorsteher der einen Hälfte des Bezirks Beth-Zur, bis gegenüber den Davidsgräbern und weiter bis an den Teich, der dort angelegt worden war, und bis an die Kaserne. –

After him fortified Nehemiah the sonne of Azbuk, the ruler of ye halfe part of Beth-zur, vntill the otherside ouer against the sepulchres of Dauid, and to the fishpoole that was repaired, and vnto the house of the mightie.

17 Nächst ihm besserten die Leviten aus: Rehum, der Sohn Banis. Neben ihm besserte Hasabja aus, der Vorsteher der einen Hälfte des Bezirks Kegila, für seinen Bezirk. –

After him fortified the Leuites, Rehum the sonne of Bani, and next vnto him fortified Hashabiah the ruler of the halfe part of Keilah in his quarter.

18 Nächst ihm besserten deren Genossen aus: Binnui, der Sohn Henadads, der Vorsteher der andern Hälfte des Bezirks Kegila. –

After him fortified their brethren: Bauai, the sonne of Henadad the ruler of the halfe part of Keilah:

19 Neben ihm besserte Eser aus, der Sohn Jesuas, der Vorsteher der anderen Hälfte von Mizpa, eine zweite Strecke gegenüber dem Aufstieg zum Zeughaus am Winkel. –

And next vnto him fortified Ezer, the sonne of Ieshua the ruler of Mizpah, the other portion ouer against the going vp to the corner of the armour.

20 Nächst ihm bergaufwärts besserte Baruch, der Sohn Sabbais, eine zweite Strecke aus vom Winkel bis an den Eingang zum Hause des Hohenpriesters Eljasib. –

After him was earnest Baruch the sonne of Zacchai, and fortified another portion from the corner vnto the doore of the house of Eliashib the hie Priest.

21 Nächst ihm besserte Meremoth, der Sohn Urias, des Sohnes des Hakkoz, eine zweite Strecke aus vom Eingang zum Hause Eljasibs bis ans Ende des Hauses Eljasibs. –

After him fortified Merimoth, the sonne of Vriiah, the sonne of Hakkoz, another portion from the doore of the house of Eliashib, euen as long as the house of Eliashib extended.

22 Nächst ihm besserten die Priester aus, die Männer aus dem Jordanbezirk. –

After him also fortified the Priests, the men of the playne.

23 Nächst ihnen besserten Benjamin und Hassub ihrem Hause gegenüber aus; nächst ihnen Asarja, der Sohn Maasejas, des Sohnes Ananjas, neben seinem Hause. –

After them fortified Beniamin, and Hasshub ouer against their house: after him fortified Azariah, the sonne of Maaseiah, the sonne of Ananiah, by his house.

24 Nächst ihm besserte Binnui, der Sohn Henadads, eine zweite Strecke aus vom Hause Asarjas bis an den Winkel und bis an die Ecke.

After him fortified Binnui, the sonne of Henadad another portion, from the house of Azariah vnto the turning and vnto the corner.

25 Palal, der Sohn Usais, arbeitete gegenüber dem Winkel und dem oberen Turm, der am königlichen Palast beim Gefängnishof vorspringt. – Nächst ihm besserte Pedaja aus, der Sohn des Parhos,

Palal, the sonne of Vzai, from ouer against the corner, and the high tower, that lieth out from the Kings house, which is beside the court of the prison. After him, Pedaiah, the sonne of Parosh.

26 [die Tempelhörigen aber wohnten auf dem Ophel, ] bis gegenüber dem Wassertor nach Osten zu und dem vorspringenden Turm. –

And the Nethinims they dwelt in ye fortresse vnto the place ouer against the water gate, Eastwarde, and to the tower that lyeth out.

27 Nächst ihm besserten die Thekoiter eine zweite Strecke aus, dem großen vorspringenden Turm gegenüber und bis an die Mauer des Ophel.

After him fortified the Tekoites another portion ouer against the great tower, that lyeth out, euen vnto the wall of the fortresse.

28 Oberhalb des Roßtores besserten die Priester aus, ein jeder seinem Hause gegenüber. –

From aboue the horsegate forth fortified the Priests, euery one ouer against his house.

29 Nächst ihnen besserte Zadok, der Sohn Immers, seinem Hause gegenüber aus, und nächst ihm Semaja, der Sohn Sechanjas, der Hüter des Osttores. –

After them fortified Zadok the sonne of Immer ouer against his house: and after him fortified Shemaiah, the sonne of Shechadiah the keeper of the East gate.

30 Nächst ihm besserten Hananja, der Sohn Selemjas, und Hanun, der sechste Sohn Zalaphs, eine zweite Strecke aus. – Nächst ihm besserte Mesullam, der Sohn Berechjas, seiner Wohnung gegenüber aus. –

After him fortified Hananiah, the sonne of Shelemiah, and Hanun, the sonne of Zalaph, the sixt, another portion after him fortified Meshullam, the sonne of Berechiah, ouer against his chamber.

31 Nächst ihm besserte Malkija, einer aus der Zunft der Goldschmiede, bis zum Hause der Tempelhörigen und der Krämer dem Wachttor gegenüber aus und bis zum Söller an der Ecke;

After him fortified Malchiah the goldesmiths sonne, vntil the house of the Nethinims, and of ye marchants ouer against the gate Miphkad, and to the chamber in the corner.

32 und zwischen dem Söller an der Ecke und dem Schaftor besserten die Goldschmiede und die Krämer aus.

And betweene the chamber of the corner vnto the sheepegate fortified the goldesmithes and the marchantes.
