Nehemia 12

1 Folgende sind die Priester und die Leviten, die mit Serubbabel, dem Sohne Sealthiels, und mit Jesua (nach Jerusalem) hinaufgezogen waren: Seraja, Jeremia, Esra,

Now, these, are the priests and the Levites, who came up with Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua, —Seraiah, Jeremiah, Ezra;

2 Amarja, Malluch, Hattus,

Amariah, Malluch, Hattush;

3 Sechanja, Harim, Meremoth,

Shecaniah, Rehum, Meremoth;

4 Iddo, Ginnethoi, Abia,

Iddo, Ginnethoi, Abijah;

5 Mijjamin, Maadja, Bilga,

Mijamin, Maadiah, Bilgah;

6 Semaja und Jojarib, Jedaja,

Shemaiah, and Joiarib, Jedaiah;

7 Sallu, Amok, Hilkija, Jedaja. Das waren die Häupter der Priester und ihrer Genossen zur Zeit Jesuas. –

Sallu, Amok, Hilkiah, Jedaiah, —these, were the chiefs of the priests and their brethren, in the days of Jeshua.

8 Die Leviten aber waren: Jesua, Binnui, Kadmiel, Serebja, Juda, Matthanja; dieser und seine Genossen leiteten den Dankgesang,

And, the Levites, Jeshua, Binnui, Kadmiel, Sherebiah, Judah, Mattaniah, —over the choirs, he and his brethren;

9 während ihre Genossen Bakbukja und Unni nach den Dienstabteilungen ihnen gegenüberstanden.

and Bakbukiah and Unno their brethren, were over against them, in wards.

10 Jesua war der Vater Jojakims, Jojakim der Vater Eljasibs, Eljasib der Vater Jojadas,

And Jeshua, begat Joiakim, —and Joiakim, begat Eliashib, and, Eliashib, [begat] Joiada;

11 Jojada der Vater Johanans, Johanan der Vater Jadduas.

and, Joiada, begat Jonathan, —and, Jonathan, begat Jaddua.

12 Zur Zeit Jojakims aber waren folgende Priester die Häupter der Familien: von der Familie Seraja: Meraja, von Jeremia: Hananja,

And, in the days of Joiakim, were priests, ancestral chiefs, —of Seraiah, Meraiah, of Jeremiah, Hananiah;

13 von Esra: Mesullam, von Amarja: Johanan,

of Ezra, Meshullam, —of Amariah, Jehohanan;

14 von Malluch: Jonathan, von Sechanja: Joseph,

of Malluchi, Jonathan, —of Shebaniah, Joseph;

15 von Harim: Adna, von Merajoth: Helkai,

of Harim, Adna, —of Meraioth, Helkai;

16 von Iddo: Sacharja, von Ginneton: Mesullam,

of Iddo, Zechariah, —of Ginnethon, Meshullam;

17 von Abija: Sichri, von Minjamin: …, von Moadja: Piltai,

of Abijah, Zichri, —of Miniamin, of Moadiah, Piltai;

18 von Bilga: Sammua, von Semaja: Jonathan,

of Bilgah, Shammua, —of Shemaiah, Jehonathan;

19 von Jojarib: Matthenai, von Jedaja: Ussi,

and, of Joiarib, Mattenai, —of Jedaiah, Uzzi;

20 von Sallu: Kallai, von Amok: Eber,

of Sallai, Kallai, —of Amok, Eber;

21 von Hilkija: Hasabja, von Jedaja: Nethaneel.

of Hilkiah, Hashabiah, —of Jedaiah, Nethanel.

22 Was die Leviten betrifft, so sind ihre Familienhäupter zur Zeit Eljasibs, Jojadas, Johanans und Jadduas aufgezeichnet worden, von den Priestern aber unter der Regierung des Perserkönigs Darius. –

The Levites—in the days of Eliashib, Joiada, and Johanan, and Jaddua, were recorded as ancestral chiefs, —also the priests, unto the reign of Darius the Persian.

23 Von den Leviten sind die Familienhäupter im Buch der Chronik aufgezeichnet, und zwar bis auf die Zeit Johanans, des Sohnes Eljasibs.

the sons of Levi, ancestral heads, were written in the book of Chronicles, —even until the days of Johanan, son of Eliashib.

24 Die Häupter der Leviten waren: Hasabja, Serebja und Jesua, der Sohn Kadmiels, und ihre Genossen, die ihnen gegenüberstanden, um die Lob- und Danklieder zu singen nach der Anordnung Davids, des Mannes Gottes, eine Abteilung neben der andern.

And, the chiefs of the Levites, Hashabiah, Sherebiah, and Jeshua son of Kadmiel, with their brethren over against them, to praise—to give thanks, by the commandment of David the man of God, —ward joined to ward.

25 Matthanja und Bakbukja, Obadja, Mesullam, Talmon und Akkub hielten als Torhüter Wache bei den Vorratshäusern an den Toren.

Mattaniah and Bakbukiah, Obadiah, Meshullam, Talmon, Akkub, were watchers, doorkeepers of the ward, in the storehouses of the gates.

26 Diese waren Zeitgenossen Jojakims, des Sohnes Jesuas, des Sohnes Jozadaks, und Zeitgenossen des Statthalters Nehemia und des schriftgelehrten Priesters Esra.

These, were in the days of Joiakim, son of Jeshua, son of Jozadak, —and in the days of Nehemiah the pasha, and Ezra the priest the scribe.

27 Bei Gelegenheit der Einweihung der Mauer Jerusalems aber suchte man die Leviten zu veranlassen, aus allen ihren Wohnorten nach Jerusalem zu kommen, damit die Einweihung durch ein Freudenfest begangen würde mit Dankliedern und Lobgesängen, mit Zimbeln, Harfen und Zithern.

And, at the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem, they sought the Levites, out of all their places, to bring them to Jerusalem, —to keep the dedication and the rejoicing, both with thanksgiving and with music, cymbals, harps, and with lyres.

28 Da versammelten sich die zu den (Tempel-)- Sängern Gehörenden sowohl aus der ganzen Umgegend von Jerusalem als auch aus den Gehöften von Netopha

So the sons of the singers gathered themselves together, —both out of the circuit round about Jerusalem, and out of the villages of the Netophathites;

29 sowie aus Beth-Gilgal und aus den Feldmarken von Geba und Asmaweth; die Sänger hatten sich nämlich Gehöfte in der Umgegend von Jerusalem gebaut.

also out of Beth-gilgal, and out of the fields of Geba, and Azmaveth, —for, villages, had the singers builded for themselves, round about Jerusalem.

30 Nachdem nun die Priester und die Leviten sich selbst gereinigt und dann auch das Volk sowie die Tore und die Mauer gereinigt hatten,

And the priests and the Levites purified themselves, —and purified the people, and the gates, and the wall.

31 ließ ich die Obersten Judas oben auf die Mauer steigen und stellte zwei große Dankchöre und Festzüge auf, von denen der eine oben auf der Mauer südwärts zum Misttor hin zog,

Then brought I up the rulers of Judah upon the wall, —and I appointed two large choirs, even to go in procession to the right, upon the wall, towards the dung-gate;

32 und hinter ihnen her schritt Hosaja mit der einen Hälfte der Obersten von Juda,

and after them went Hoshaiah, and half the rulers of Judah;

33 nämlich Asarja, Esra und Mesullam,

then Azariah, Ezra, and Meshullam;

34 Juda, Benjamin, Semaja und Jeremia;

Judah, and Benjamin, and Shemaiah, and Jeremiah;

35 ferner einige Mitglieder der Priesterschaft mit Trompeten, nämlich Sacharja, der Sohn Jonathans, des Sohnes Semajas, des Sohnes Matthanjas, des Sohnes Michajas, des Sohnes Sakkurs, des Sohnes Asaphs,

and, of the sons of the priests, with trumpets, Zechariah—son of Jonathan—son of Shemaiah—son of Mattaniah, son of Micaiah, son of Zaccur, son of Asaph;

36 und seine Genossen Semaja und Asareel, Milalai, Gilalai, Maai, Nethaneel und Juda, Hanani, mit den Tonwerkzeugen Davids, des Mannes Gottes; und der Schriftgelehrte Esra ging an ihrer Spitze.

and his brethren—Shemaiah and Azarel, Milalai, Gilalai, Maai, Nethanel, and Judah, Hanani, with the instruments of music of David, the man of God, —with Ezra the scribe before them;

37 Weiter zogen sie zum Quelltor hin, stiegen dann geradeaus auf den Stufen der Davidsstadt den Aufgang zur Mauer hinauf und dann oberhalb des Palastes Davids bis zum Wassertor im Osten.

and, over they fountain gate and straight before them, they went up by the stairs of the city of David, at the going up of the wall, —above the house of David, even as far as the water-gate, eastward.

38 Der zweite Festchor aber zog nach der entgegengesetzten Seite, und ich selbst ging hinter ihm her mit der andern Hälfte (der Obersten) des Volkes oben auf der Mauer hin, am Ofenturm vorüber bis an die Breite Mauer,

And, the second choir, was going over against them, I, following it, —with the half of the people upon the wall, above the tower of the ovens, even as far as the broad wall;

39 dann am Tor Ephraim und dem Tor der Altstadt, dem Fischtor, dem Turm Hananeel und dem Turm Mea vorüber bis an das Schaftor; am Gefängnistor machten sie Halt.

and above the gate of Ephraim, and upon the old gate, and upon the fish-gate, and the tower of Hananel, and the tower of Hammeah, even as far as the sheep-gate, —and they came to a stand, at the gate of the guard.

40 Dann nahmen beide Festchöre beim Hause Gottes Aufstellung, auch ich und die eine Hälfte der Obersten mit mir.

So the two choirs, came to a stand, at the house of God, —and I, and half the deputies with me;

41 Hierauf bliesen die Priester Eljakim, Maaseja, Minjamin, Michaja, Eljoenai, Sacharja und Hananja mit Trompeten,

and, the priests—Eliakim, Maaseiah, Miniamin, Micaiah, Elioenai, Zechariah, and Hananiah, with trumpets;

42 und Maaseja, Semaja, Eleasar, Ussi, Johanan, Malkija, Elam und Eser, die Sänger, trugen unter Leitung Jisrahjas Lieder vor.

and Maaseiah and Shemaiah and Eleazar and Uzzi and Jehohanan and Malchijah and Elam and Ezer, —and the musicians sounded, aloud with Jezrahiah who was over them.

43 Alsdann brachte man an diesem Tage große Schlachtopfer dar und gab sich der Freude hin, denn Gott der HERR hatte ihnen eine große Freude bereitet; und auch die Frauen und Kinder überließen sich der Freude, so daß man den Jubel Jerusalems bis in weite Ferne hörte.

And they sacrificed, on that day, great sacrifices, and rejoiced, for, God, had caused them to rejoice with great joy, moreover also, the women and children, rejoiced, —so that the rejoicing of Jerusalem was heard afar off.

44 An jenem Tage bestellte man auch Männer zu Aufsehern über die Zellen, die zu Vorratskammern für die Abgaben, für die Erstlinge und die Zehnten, bestimmt waren, um in ihnen nach den Feldmarken der einzelnen Ortschaften die gesetzlichen Abgaben für die Priester und die Leviten einzusammeln; denn die Judäer hatten ihre Freude an den Priestern und Leviten, die für den heiligen Dienst bestellt waren;

And there were set in charge, on that day, certain men, over the chambers for the treasures, for the heave-offerings, for the firstfruits, and for the tithes, to gather into them, out of the fields of the cities, the portions appointed by the law, for the priests, and for the Levites, —for, the joy of Judah, was over the priests and over the Levites, who were remaining.

45 und diese besorgten in der Tat den Dienst ihres Gottes und die Beobachtung der Reinigungsvorschriften gewissenhaft, ebenso auch die Sänger und Torhüter, nach der Anordnung Davids und seines Sohnes Salomo.

So they kept the charge of their God, and the charge of the purification, and [so did] the singers and the doorkeepers, —according to the commandment of David and of Solomon his son.

46 Denn schon vor alters, zur Zeit Davids und Asaphs, hatte es Vorsteher der Sänger sowie Lobgesänge und Danklieder für Gott gegeben.

For, in the days of David and Asaph, of old, there were chiefs of the singers, and songs of praise and thanksgiving, unto God.

47 Ganz Israel aber entrichtete zur Zeit Serubbabels und zur Zeit Nehemias die Abgaben für die Sänger und die Torhüter, die diesen tagtäglich gebührten; sie lieferten aber die (vorgeschriebenen) heiligen Gaben an die Leviten ab, und die Leviten ließen die Weihegaben den Nachkommen Aarons zukommen.

Now, all Israel—in the days of Zerubbabel, and in the days of Nehemiah, used to give the portions of the singers and the doorkeepers, the need of a day upon its day, —and they hallowed them unto the Levites, and, the Levites, hallowed them unto the sons of Aaron.
