Mica 7
1 Wehe mir! Denn es ergeht mir wie bei der Obstlese, wie bei der Nachlese in der Weinernte: nicht eine Traube ist mehr da zum Essen, nicht eine Frühfeige, nach der mein Herz verlangt!
Woe is me! for I am as in the gathering of the summer-fruits, as in the grape-gleanings of the vintage: there is no cluster to eat, no first-ripe fruit for which my soul longeth.
2 Ausgestorben sind die Frommen im Lande, und es gibt keinen Ehrlichen mehr unter den Menschen; allesamt liegen sie auf der Lauer nach Bluttaten, jeder macht Jagd auf den andern mit dem Fangnetz.
The pious hath disappeared out of the land; and the upright among men there is none; all of them lie in wait for blood; they hunt every man his brother with a net.
3 Auf das Böse sind ihre Hände gerichtet, um es eifrig auszuführen: der Fürst fordert, und der Richter steht ihm gegen Bezahlung zu Diensten; der Mächtige spricht das aus, wonach ihn in seiner Gier gelüstet, und dann flechten sie es ineinander.
For the evil of your hands you expect good? while the prince demandeth [bribes], and the judge acteth for pay; and the great man is only speaking the wilful pleasure of his soul: and so do they make a network [of wrong].
4 Der Beste unter ihnen ist wie ein Dornstrauch, der Rechtschaffenste noch schlimmer als eine Dornhecke. Aber der Tag, den deine Späher angekündigt haben, dein Strafgericht, kommt heran: da wird die Bestürzung bei ihnen anheben.
The best of them is like a brier; the most upright is [sharper] than a thorn-hedge: the day of thy watchmen, thy punishment, is come; now shall be perplexity among them.
5 Trauet keinem Genossen mehr, verlaßt euch nicht auf den Freund! Vor dem Weibe, das an deiner Brust liegt, hüte die Pforten deines Mundes!
Trust ye not in a friend, put ye not confidence in a confidant: from her that lieth in thy bosom guard the doors of thy mouth.
6 Denn der Sohn mißachtet den Vater, die Tochter lehnt sich gegen ihre Mutter auf, die Schwiegertochter gegen ihre Schwiegermutter, und eines jeden Feinde sind die eigenen Hausgenossen. –
For the son disgraceth the father, the daughter riseth up against her mother, the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; a man's enemies are the men of his own house.
7 Ich aber will nach dem HERRN ausschauen, will harren auf den Gott, der mir hilft: mein Gott wird mich erhören!
But I—I will look unto the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me.
8 Freue dich nicht über mich, meine Feindin! Denn bin ich auch gefallen, so stehe ich doch wieder auf, und sitze ich auch in Finsternis, so ist doch der HERR mein Licht.
Rejoice not, O my enemy, over me: though I am fallen, I rise again: though I should sit in darkness, the Lord will be a light unto me.
9 Den Zorn des HERRN will ich tragen – denn ich habe gegen ihn gesündigt –, bis er meine Sache in die Hand nimmt und mir Recht schafft: er wird mich ans Licht herausführen, daß ich seine Gerechtigkeit mit Freuden schaue.
The indignation of the Lord will I bear, because I have sinned against him; until that he plead my cause, and execute justice for me: [when] he will bring me forth to the light, and I shall behold his righteousness.
10 Auch meine Feindin wird es sehen, und Beschämung wird sie bedecken, sie, die zu mir gesagt hat: »Wo ist nun der HERR, dein Gott?« Meine Augen werden sich an ihrem Anblick weiden, wenn sie alsdann zertreten wird wie Kot auf der Straße. –
Then she that is my enemy will see it, and shame shall cover her, who said unto me, Where is the Lord thy God? My eyes shall complacently see her [suffer]: now shall she be trodden down as the mire of the streets.
11 »Ein Tag kommt, wo deine Mauern wieder aufgebaut, der Tag, wo deine Grenzen hinausgerückt werden.
The day that thy fences are to be built—that same day, the ordained, is yet far removed.
12 An jenem Tage wird man zu dir kommen von Assyrien bis Ägypten und von Ägypten bis zum Euphratstrom, von einem Meer bis zum anderen und von einem Gebirge bis zum anderen.
It is a day when men shall come to thee from Assyria, and the cities of Mazor, and from Mazor even to the river, and from sea to sea, and [from] mountain to mountain.
13 Die Erde aber wird zur Wüste werden um ihrer Bewohner willen, zur Strafe für ihre Taten.«
While the land [of the nations] shall be made desolate because of its inhabitants, for the fruit of their doings.
14 Weide dein Volk mit deinem Hirtenstabe, die Herde deines Erbteils, die da abgesondert für sich das Waldland bewohnt auf dem Karmel! Laß sie auch wieder in Basan und Gilead weiden wie in den Tagen der Vorzeit!
Feed thy people with thy rod, the flock of thy heritage, which dwell in solitude in the wood, in the midst of Carmel: let them feed in Bashan and Gil'ad, as in the days of old.
15 »Wie einst in den Tagen, als du aus Ägyptenland zogest, will ich sie wieder Wundertaten schauen lassen.
As in the days of thy coming out of the land of Egypt will I let them see marvelous things.
16 Die Heidenvölker werden es sehen und beschämt werden trotz all ihrer Macht; sie werden die Hand auf den Mund legen, und ihre Ohren werden taub sein;
Nations shall see and be ashamed of all their might: they shall lay their hand upon their mouth, their ears shall be deafened.
17 sie werden Staub lecken wie die Schlangen, wie das Gewürm am Erdboden; zitternd werden sie aus ihren Burgen hervorkommen, bebend dem HERRN, unserm Gott, sich nahen und vor dir sich fürchten.«
They shall lick the dust like the serpent; like those that crawl on the earth, shall they come forth trembling out of their close places: unto the Lord our God shall they hasten in dread, and shall be afraid of thee.
18 Wer ist ein Gott wie du, der Sündenschuld vergibt und an den Missetaten des Überrestes seines Eigentumsvolkes vorübergeht? Der nicht ewiglich an seinem Zorn festhält, sondern Freude an der Gnade hat?
Who is a god like unto thee, pardoning iniquity, and forgiving transgression to the residue of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in kindness.
19 Er wird sich unser aufs neue erbarmen, wird unsere Verschuldungen niedertreten und alle unsere Missetaten in die Tiefen des Meeres versenken.
He will again have mercy on us, he will suppress our iniquities; yea, thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.
20 Du wirst an Jakob Treue, an Abraham Gnade erweisen, die du unsern Vätern zugeschworen hast in den Tagen der Vorzeit.
Thou wilt show faithfulness unto Jacob, and kindness unto Abraham, which thou hast sworn unto our fathers in the days of old.
