3 Mose 26

1 »Ihr sollt euch keine Götzen verfertigen und dürft euch keine Schnitzbilder und Malsteine aufrichten, auch keine Steine mit Bildwerk in eurem Lande aufstellen, um euch davor niederzuwerfen; denn ich, der HERR, bin euer Gott!

"'You shall make for yourselves no idols, neither shall you raise up an engraved image or a pillar, neither shall you place any figured stone in your land, to bow down to it: for I am Jehovah your God.

2 Meine Sabbate sollt ihr beobachten und mein Heiligtum fürchten: ich bin der Herr!«

"'You shall keep my Sabbaths, and have reverence for my sanctuary. I am Jehovah.

3 »Wenn ihr in meinen Satzungen wandelt und meine Gebote beobachtet und nach ihnen tut,

"'If you walk in my statutes, and keep my commandments, and do them;

4 so will ich euch Regen zu rechter Zeit geben, damit das Land seinen Ertrag liefert und die Bäume auf dem Felde ihre Früchte spenden.

then I will give you your rains in their season, and the land shall yield its increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.

5 Dann wird die Dreschzeit bei euch bis an die Weinlese reichen und die Weinlese bis an die Saatzeit; und ihr sollt Brot reichlich zu essen haben und sicher in eurem Lande wohnen.

Your threshing shall reach to the vintage, and the vintage shall reach to the sowing time; and you shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely.

6 Dann will ich Frieden im Lande herrschen lassen, daß ihr euch niederlegen könnt, ohne daß jemand euch aufschreckt; auch die wilden Tiere will ich aus dem Lande verschwinden lassen, und kein Schwert soll durch euer Land ziehen.

"'I will give peace in the land, and you shall lie down, and no one will make you afraid; and I will remove evil animals out of the land, neither shall the sword go through your land.

7 Ihr werdet eure Feinde in die Flucht schlagen, und sie sollen vor euch durch das Schwert fallen;

You shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword.

8 fünf von euch sollen hundert in die Flucht schlagen und hundert von euch zehntausend vor sich her treiben, und eure Feinde sollen vor euch durch das Schwert fallen.

Five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall chase ten thousand; and your enemies shall fall before you by the sword.

9 Ich will mich euch gnädig zuwenden, will euch zahlreich werden lassen und euch mehren und meinen Bund mit euch aufrechthalten.

"'I will have respect for you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you, and will establish my covenant with you.

10 Ihr werdet altes Getreide von der vorletzten Ernte zu essen haben und das vorjährige wegschaffen müssen, um für das neue Raum zu schaffen.

You shall eat old store long kept, and you shall move out the old because of the new.

11 Und ich will meine Wohnung in eurer Mitte aufschlagen, und mein Herz wird keine Abneigung gegen euch hegen,

And I will set my tabernacle among you, and my soul will not abhor you.

12 sondern ich will in eurer Mitte wandeln und euer Gott sein, und ihr sollt mein Volk sein.

I will walk among you, and will be your God, and you will be my people.

13 Ich bin der HERR, euer Gott, der euch aus dem Lande Ägypten herausgeführt hat, damit ihr ihnen nicht länger als Knechte dienen solltet; ich habe die Stäbe eures Joches zerbrochen und euch aufrecht einhergehen lassen.«

I am Jehovah your God, who brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, that you should not be their slaves; and I have broken the bars of your yoke, and made you go upright.

14 »Wenn ihr mir aber nicht gehorcht und nicht alle diese Gebote erfüllt,

"'But if you will not listen to me, and will not do all these commandments;

15 sondern meine Satzungen mißachtet und im Herzen Widerwillen gegen meine Verordnungen hegt, so daß ihr nicht alle meine Gebote befolgt, sondern den Bund mit mir brecht,

and if you shall reject my statutes, and if your soul abhors my ordinances, so that you will not do all my commandments, but break my covenant;

16 so will auch ich dementsprechend mit euch verfahren und schreckliche Heimsuchungen über euch verhängen: Schwindsucht und Fieber, daß euch das Augenlicht erlöschen soll und das Leben qualvoll dahinschwindet. Vergebens sollt ihr dann euren Samen aussäen, denn eure Feinde werden ihn verzehren;

I also will do this to you: I will appoint terror over you, even consumption and fever, that shall consume the eyes, and make the soul to pine away; and you will sow your seed in vain, for your enemies will eat it.

17 und ich werde mein Angesicht gegen euch kehren, daß ihr vor euren Feinden die Flucht ergreifen müßt; und eure Widersacher sollen über euch herrschen, und ihr sollt fliehen, auch wenn niemand euch verfolgt.«

I will set my face against you, and you will be struck before your enemies. Those who hate you will rule over you; and you will flee when no one pursues you.

18 »Und wenn ihr mir auch dann noch nicht gehorcht, so will ich euch noch siebenmal härter strafen um eurer Sünden willen;

"'If you in spite of these things will not listen to me, then I will chastise you seven times more for your sins.

19 den trotzigen Hochmut werde ich euch dann brechen und will den Himmel über euch hart wie Eisen machen und euren Erdboden wie Erz,

I will break the pride of your power, and I will make your sky like iron, and your soil like bronze;

20 so daß eure Kraft und Arbeit sich nutzlos erschöpfen wird; denn euer Land wird euch keinen Ertrag geben und die Bäume auf dem Felde keine Früchte spenden.«

and your strength will be spent in vain; for your land won't yield its increase, neither will the trees of the land yield their fruit.

21 »Und wenn ihr mir auch dann noch widerstrebt und mir nicht gehorchen wollt, so will ich fortfahren, euch noch siebenmal härter um eurer Sünden willen zu schlagen.

"'If you walk contrary to me, and won't listen to me, then I will bring seven times more plagues on you according to your sins.

22 Dann will ich die wilden Tiere gegen euch loslassen, daß sie euch eure Kinder rauben und euer Vieh zerreißen und eure Zahl vermindern, so daß eure Straßen öde werden.«

I will send the wild animals among you, which will rob you of your children, destroy your livestock, and make you few in number; and your roads will become desolate.

23 »Und wenn ihr euch auch dadurch nicht von mir warnen laßt, sondern mir immer noch widerstrebt,

"'If by these things you won't be reformed to me, but will walk contrary to me;

24 so will auch ich euch widerstreben und euch auch meinerseits siebenfach für eure Sünden schlagen.

then I will also walk contrary to you; and I will strike you, even I, seven times for your sins.

25 Ich will das Schwert über euch kommen lassen, das die Rache für den Bundesbruch vollziehen soll; und wenn ihr euch dann in eure Städte zurückzieht, so werde ich die Pest unter euch senden, und ihr sollt in Feindeshand fallen.

I will bring a sword upon you, that will execute the vengeance of the covenant; and you will be gathered together within your cities: and I will send the pestilence among you; and you will be delivered into the hand of the enemy.

26 Wenn ich euch dann noch die Stütze des Brotes zerbreche, so daß zehn Frauen Brot für euch in einem einzigen Ofen backen und sie euch das Brot abgewogen zurückbringen, so werdet ihr essen, ohne satt zu werden.«

When I break your staff of bread, ten women shall bake your bread in one oven, and they shall deliver your bread again by weight: and you shall eat, and not be satisfied.

27 »Und wenn ihr mir trotzdem nicht gehorsam seid und mir immer noch widerstrebt,

"'If you in spite of this won't listen to me, but walk contrary to me;

28 so will auch ich im Grimm euch widerstreben und euch siebenfach für eure Sünden züchtigen.

then I will walk contrary to you in wrath; and I also will chastise you seven times for your sins.

29 Ihr sollt dann das Fleisch eurer eigenen Söhne essen und das Fleisch eurer eigenen Töchter verzehren;

You will eat the flesh of your sons, and you will eat the flesh of your daughters.

30 und ich werde eure Höhentempel zerstören und eure Sonnensäulen umstürzen; eure Leichname werde ich auf die Leichname eurer Götzen werfen, und mein Herz wird euch verabscheuen.

I will destroy your high places, and cut down your incense altars, and cast your dead bodies upon the bodies of your idols; and my soul will abhor you.

31 Eure Städte will ich in Trümmerstätten verwandeln und eure Heiligtümer verwüsten und euren lieblichen Opferduft nicht mehr riechen.

I will lay your cities waste, and will bring your sanctuaries to desolation, and I will not take delight in the sweet fragrance of your offerings.

32 Ja, ich selbst werde das Land veröden, so daß eure Feinde, die dort ihren Wohnsitz nehmen, sich darüber entsetzen sollen.

I will bring the land into desolation; and your enemies that dwell in it will be astonished at it.

33 Euch aber werde ich unter die (heidnischen) Völker zerstreuen und das Schwert hinter euch her zücken; euer Land soll zur Wüste werden und eure Städte zu Schutthaufen.

I will scatter you among the nations, and I will draw out the sword after you: and your land will be a desolation, and your cities shall be a waste.

34 Da wird dann das Land seine Ruhezeiten ersetzt bekommen die ganze Zeit hindurch, in der es verwüstet daliegt, während ihr im Lande eurer Feinde weilt; ja, da wird dann das Land Ruhe haben und seine Ruhezeiten nachholen;

Then the land will enjoy its sabbaths as long as it lies desolate and you are in your enemies' land. Even then the land will rest and enjoy its sabbaths.

35 die ganze Zeit hindurch, in der es verwüstet daliegt, wird es die Ruhe haben, die ihm in den euch gebotenen Ruhezeiten versagt war, als ihr in ihm wohntet.

As long as it lies desolate it shall have rest, even the rest which it did not have in your sabbaths, when you lived on it.

36 Die aber dann von euch noch übrig sind, denen will ich in den Ländern ihrer Feinde Verzagtheit ins Herz legen, so daß das Rascheln eines verwehten Blattes sie aufschreckt und sie davor fliehen sollen, wie man sonst vor dem Schwerte flieht, und sie fallen sollen, obwohl niemand sie verfolgt.

"'As for those of you who are left, I will send a faintness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies: and the sound of a driven leaf will put them to flight; and they shall flee, as one flees from the sword; and they will fall when no one pursues.

37 Sie sollen dann einer über den andern hinstürzen, wie wenn es gälte, vor dem Schwerte zu fliehen, obgleich doch niemand sie verfolgt; und es wird für euch kein Standhalten vor euren Feinden geben:

They will stumble over one another, as it were before the sword, when no one pursues: and you will have no power to stand before your enemies.

38 ja, ihr sollt unter den Heidenvölkern umkommen, und das Land eurer Feinde soll euch fressen.

You will perish among the nations, and the land of your enemies will eat you up.

39 Und diejenigen von euch, die dann noch übrig sind, sollen in den Ländern eurer Feinde infolge ihrer Sündenschuld verschmachten und auch infolge der Sünden ihrer Väter hinschwinden mit ihnen.«

Those of you who are left will rot away in their iniquity in the lands of their enemies; and also in the iniquities of their fathers shall they rot away with them.

40 »Da werden sie dann ihre Schuld bekennen und auch die Schuld ihrer Väter infolge ihres Treubruchs, den sie gegen mich begangen haben, und werden auch eingestehen, daß, weil sie mir widerstrebt haben,

"'If they confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, in their trespass which they trespassed against me, and also that, because they walked contrary to me,

41 auch ich ihnen widerstrebt und sie in das Land ihrer Feinde gebracht habe. Wenn alsdann ihr unbeschnittenes Herz sich demütigt und sie dann die Strafe für ihre Verschuldung büßen,

I also walked contrary to them, and brought them into the land of their enemies: if then their uncircumcised heart is humbled, and they then accept the punishment of their iniquity;

42 so will ich an meinen Bund mit Jakob gedenken und ebenso an meinen Bund mit Isaak und an meinen Bund mit Abraham gedenken und will des Landes gedenken.

then I will remember my covenant with Jacob; and also my covenant with Isaac, and also my covenant with Abraham; and I will remember the land.

43 Jedoch zuvor muß das Land von ihnen verlassen sein und die ihm zukommenden Ruhezeiten vergütet erhalten, solange es nach ihrer Entfernung verödet liegt; und sie selbst müssen die Strafe für ihre Verschuldung erleiden, weil sie ja doch meine Gebote mißachtet und in ihrem Herzen gegen meine Satzungen einen Widerwillen gehegt haben.

The land also will be left by them, and will enjoy its sabbaths while it lies desolate without them: and they will accept the punishment of their iniquity; because, even because they rejected my ordinances, and their soul abhorred my statutes.

44 Aber selbst auch dann, wenn sie sich im Lande ihrer Feinde befinden, will ich sie nicht so verwerfen und keinen solchen Widerwillen gegen sie hegen, daß ich sie ganz vertilge und meinen Bund mit ihnen breche, denn ich bin der HERR, ihr Gott.

Yet for all that, when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not reject them, neither will I abhor them, to destroy them utterly, and to break my covenant with them; for I am Jehovah their God;

45 Nein, zu ihrem Heil will ich meines Bundes mit ihren Vorfahren gedenken, die ich vor den Augen der Heidenvölker aus dem Lande Ägypten weggeführt habe, um ihr Gott zu sein: ich, der HERR.«

but I will for their sake remember the covenant of their ancestors, whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the nations, that I might be their God. I am Jehovah.'"

46 Dies sind die Satzungen, Verordnungen und Weisungen, die der HERR auf dem Berge Sinai zwischen sich und den Israeliten durch Vermittlung Moses gegeben hat.

These are the statutes, ordinances and laws, which Jehovah made between him and the children of Israel in Mount Sinai by Moses.
