3 Mose 19

1 Weiter gebot der HERR dem Mose folgendes:

And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,

2 »Teile der ganzen Gemeinde der Israeliten folgende Verordnungen mit: Ihr sollt heilig sein, denn ich, der HERR euer Gott, bin heilig!

Speak to the congregation of the children of Israel, and thou shalt say to them, Ye shall be holy; for I the Lord your God [am] holy.

3 Ihr sollt ein jeder Ehrfurcht vor seiner Mutter und seinem Vater haben und meine Ruhetage beobachten: ich bin der HERR, euer Gott. –

Let every one of you reverence his father and his mother; and ye shall keep my sabbaths: I [am] the Lord your God.

4 Wendet euch nicht den Götzen zu und fertigt euch keine gegossenen Götterbilder an: ich bin der HERR, euer Gott!

Ye shall not follow idols, and ye shall not make to yourselves molten gods: I [am] the Lord your God.

5 Wenn ihr dem HERRN ein Heilsopfer schlachten wollt, sollt ihr es so opfern, daß ihr Wohlgefallen (beim HERRN) dadurch erlangt.

And if ye will sacrifice a peace-offering to the Lord, ye shall offer it acceptable from yourselves.

6 Am Tage, an dem ihr es opfert, und am Tage darauf muß es gegessen werden; was aber bis zum dritten Tage übriggeblieben ist, muß im Feuer verbrannt werden.

In what day soever ye shall sacrifice it, it shall be eaten; and on the following day, and if any of it should be left till the third day, it shall be thoroughly burnt with fire.

7 Sollte dennoch am dritten Tage davon gegessen werden, so würde das als verdorbenes Fleisch gelten und nicht wohlgefällig aufgenommen werden:

And if it should be at all eaten on the third day, it is unfit for sacrifice: it shall not be accepted.

8 wer es äße, würde eine Verschuldung auf sich laden; denn er hätte das dem HERRN Geheiligte entweiht, und ein solcher Mensch soll aus seinen Volksgenossen ausgerottet werden.

And he that eats it shall bear his iniquity, because he has profaned the holy things of the Lord; and the souls that eat it shall be destroyed from among their people.

9 Wenn ihr die Ernte eures Landes schneidet, so sollst du dein Feld nicht ganz bis an den äußersten Rand abernten und auch keine Nachlese nach deiner Ernte halten.

And when ye reap the harvest of your land, ye shall not complete the reaping of your field with exactness, and thou shalt not gather that which falls from thy reaping.

10 Auch in deinem Weinberge sollst du keine Nachlese vornehmen und die abgefallenen Beeren in deinem Weinberge nicht auflesen; dem Armen und dem Fremdling sollst du sie überlassen: ich bin der HERR, euer Gott!

And thou shalt not go over the gathering of thy vineyard, neither shalt thou gather the remaining grapes of thy vineyard: thou shalt leave them for the poor and the stranger: I am the Lord your God.

11 Ihr sollt nicht stehlen und nicht ableugnen und euch nicht untereinander betrügen.

Ye shall not steal, ye shall not lie, neither shall one bear false witness as an informer against his neighbour.

12 Ihr sollt bei meinem Namen nicht falsch schwören, daß du den Namen deines Gottes entweihst: ich bin der HERR! –

And ye shall not swear unjustly by my name, and ye shall not profane the holy name of your God: I am the Lord your God.

13 Du sollst deinen Nächsten nicht bedrücken und nicht berauben; der Lohn eines Tagelöhners soll von dir nicht über Nacht bis zum (andern) Morgen zurückbehalten werden. –

Thou shalt not injure thy neighbour, neither do thou rob [him], neither shall the wages of thy hireling remain with thee until the morning.

14 Du sollst einem Tauben nicht fluchen und einem Blinden keinen Anstoß in den Weg legen, sondern dich vor deinem Gott fürchten: ich bin der HERR!

Thou shalt not revile the deaf, neither shalt thou put a stumbling-block in the way of the blind; and thou shalt fear the Lord thy God: I am the Lord your God.

15 Begeht kein Unrecht beim Rechtsprechen; sieh die Person eines Geringen nicht an, begünstige aber auch keinen Vornehmen, sondern richte deinen Nächsten dem Rechte gemäß.

Thou shalt not act unjustly in judgment: thou shalt not accept the person of the poor, nor admire the person of the mighty; with justice shalt thou judge thy neighbour.

16 Geh nicht als Verleumder unter deinen Volksgenossen umher; tritt im Gericht nicht gegen das Blut deines Nächsten auf: ich bin der HERR! –

Thou shalt not walk deceitfully among thy people; thou shalt not rise up against the blood of thy neighbour: I am the Lord your God.

17 Du sollst gegen deinen Bruder keinen Haß in deinem Herzen hegen, sondern sollst deinen Nächsten ernstlich zurechtweisen, damit du seinetwegen keine Verschuldung auf dich lädst.

Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, so thou shalt not bear sin on his account.

18 Du sollst den Angehörigen deines Volkes gegenüber nicht rachgierig sein und ihnen nichts nachtragen, sondern sollst deinen Nächsten lieben wie dich selbst: ich bin der HERR!«

And thy hand shall not avenge thee; and thou shalt not be angry with the children of thy people; and thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself; I am the Lord.

19 »Meine Gebote sollt ihr beobachten! Du darfst bei deinem Vieh nicht zweierlei Arten sich paaren lassen, auch dein Feld nicht mit zweierlei Samen besäen; und kein Kleid, das aus zweierlei Stoffen gewebt ist, darf auf deinen Leib kommen. –

Ye shall observe my law: thou shalt not let thy cattle gender with one of a different kind, and thou shalt not sow thy vineyard with diverse seed; and thou shalt not put upon thyself a mingled garment woven of two [materials].

20 Wenn ein Mann bei einem Weibe liegt und ihr beiwohnt, die eine Sklavin ist, die als Nebenweib einem andern Manne angehört, aber weder losgekauft noch freigelassen ist, so soll eine Bestrafung stattfinden; doch sie sollen nicht den Tod erleiden, weil sie keine Freie gewesen ist.

And if any one lie carnally with a woman, and she should be a home-servant kept for a man, and she has not been ransomed, [and] her freedom has not been given to her, they shall be visited [with punishment]; but they shall not die, because she was not set at liberty.

21 Er soll jedoch Gott dem HERRN als seine Buße einen Widder als Schuldopfer an den Eingang des Offenbarungszeltes bringen;

And he shall bring for his trespass to the Lord to the door of the tabernacle of witness, a ram for a trespass-offering.

22 und der Priester soll ihm mittels des Schuldopferwidders Sühne vor dem HERRN wegen seiner Sünde erwirken, die er begangen hat; dann wird ihm seine Sünde, die er begangen hat, vergeben werden. –

And the priest shall make atonement for him with the ram of the trespass-offering, before the Lord, for the sin which he sinned; and the sin which he sinned shall be forgiven him.

23 Wenn ihr in das (verheißene) Land gekommen seid und allerlei Obstbäume pflanzt, so sollt ihr deren Vorhaut – d. h. ihren Fruchtertrag – als Vorhaut ansehen: drei Jahre lang sollen sie euch als unbeschnitten gelten, so daß nichts von ihnen gegessen werden darf.

And whenever ye shall enter into the land which the Lord your God gives you, and shall plant any fruit-tree, then shall ye purge away its uncleanness; its fruit shall be three years uncleansed to you, it shall not be eaten.

24 Im vierten Jahr aber soll ihr ganzer Fruchtertrag dem HERRN als Gabe des Dankes geweiht sein.

And in the fourth year all its fruit shall be holy, a subject of praise to the Lord.

25 Erst im fünften Jahr dürft ihr Früchte von ihnen genießen und werdet alsdann einen um so reicheren Ertrag erlangen: ich bin der HERR, euer Gott! –

And in the fifth year ye shall eat the fruit, its produce is an increase to you. I am the Lord your God.

26 Ihr dürft nichts essen, was Blut enthält. – Ihr dürft nicht Wahrsagerei noch Zauberei treiben. –

Eat not on the mountains, nor shall ye employ auguries, nor divine by inspection of birds.

27 Ihr dürft euer Haupthaar an den Schläfen nicht rund scheren; auch darfst du den Rand deines Bartes nicht stutzen. –

Ye shall not make a round cutting of the hair of your head, nor disfigure your beard.

28 Wegen eines Toten dürft ihr euch keine Einschnitte an eurem Leibe machen und keine Ätzschrift an euch anbringen: ich bin der HERR! –

And ye shall not make cuttings in your body for a [dead] body, and ye shall not inscribe on yourselves any marks. I am the Lord your God.

29 Du sollst deine Tochter nicht entweihen, indem du eine Buhldirne aus ihr machst; denn das Land soll keine Buhlerei treiben, und das Land darf nicht voll von Unzucht werden. –

Thou shalt not profane thy daughter to prostitute her; so the land shall not go a whoring, and the land be filled with iniquity.

30 Meine Ruhetage sollt ihr beobachten und vor meinem Heiligtum Ehrfurcht haben: ich bin der HERR! –

Ye shall keep my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuaries: I am the Lord.

31 Wendet euch nicht an die Totengeister und an die Wahrsagegeister; sucht sie nicht auf, damit ihr nicht durch sie verunreinigt werdet: ich bin der HERR, euer Gott!«

Ye shall not attend to those who have in them divining spirits, nor attach yourselves to enchanters, to pollute yourselves with them: I am the Lord your God.

32 »Vor einem grauen Haupte sollst du aufstehen und die Person eines Greises ehren und dich vor deinem Gott fürchten: ich bin der HERR! –

Thou shalt rise up before the hoary head, and honour the face of the old man, and shalt fear thy God: I am the Lord your God.

33 Wenn ein Fremdling sich bei dir in eurem Lande als Gast aufhält, so sollt ihr ihn nicht bedrücken;

And if there should come to you a stranger in your land, ye shall not afflict him.

34 wie ein Einheimischer aus eurer eigenen Mitte soll euch der Fremdling gelten, der unter euch lebt, und du sollst ihn lieben wie dich selbst; denn ihr seid ja selbst Fremdlinge im Lande Ägypten gewesen: ich bin der HERR, euer Gott!

The stranger that comes to you shall be among you as the native, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.

35 Ihr sollt kein Unrecht verüben weder beim Rechtsprechen noch mit dem Längenmaß, mit dem Gewicht und dem Hohlmaß;

Ye shall not act unrighteously in judgment, in measures and weights and scales.

36 richtige Waage, richtige Gewichtstücke, richtiges Getreide- und Flüssigkeitsmaß sollt ihr führen: ich bin der HERR, euer Gott, der euch aus dem Lande Ägypten weggeführt hat.

There shall be among you just balances and just weights and just liquid measure. I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt.

37 So beobachtet denn alle meine Satzungen und alle meine Gebote und handelt nach ihnen: ich bin der HERR!«

And ye shall keep all my law and all my ordinances, and ye shall do them: I am the Lord your God.
