Richter 16
1 Als Simson sich einst nach Gaza begeben hatte, sah er dort eine Dirne und kehrte bei ihr ein.
And he went Samson Gaza towards and he saw there a woman a prostitute and he went into her.
2 Als nun den Einwohnern von Gaza berichtet wurde, Simson sei dorthin gekommen, umstellten sie ihn und lauerten ihm die ganze Nacht am Stadttor auf, verhielten sich aber die ganze Nacht hindurch ruhig, weil sie dachten: »(Wir wollen warten), bis es am Morgen hell wird, dann wollen wir ihn erschlagen!«
To the Gazites - saying he has come Samson here and they surrounded and they lay in wait for him all the night at [the] gate of the city and they were silent all the night saying until [the] light of the morning and we will kill him.
3 Simson aber blieb nur bis Mitternacht liegen; um Mitternacht aber stand er auf, faßte die beiden Flügel des Stadttors samt den beiden Pfosten, riß sie mitsamt dem Riegel heraus, lud sie sich auf die Schultern und trug sie auf den Gipfel des Berges, der gegen Hebron hin liegt.
And he lay down Samson until [the] middle of the night and he arose - in [the] middle of the night and he took hold on [the] doors of [the] gate of the city and on [the] two the doorposts and he pulled up them with the bar and he put [them] on shoulders his and he carried up them to [the] top of the mountain which [is] on [the] face of Hebron.
4 Später gewann er ein Mädchen im Tale Sorek lieb, die hieß Delila.
And it was after thus and he loved a woman in [the] valley of Sorek and name her [was] Delilah.
5 Zu dieser kamen die Fürsten der Philister hinauf und sagten zu ihr: »Rede ihm zu und suche zu erfahren, woher seine große Kraft stammt und wie wir ihn überwältigen können, um ihn zu binden und unschädlich zu machen; wir würden dir dann auch jeder 1100 Silberstücke geben.«
And they went up to her [the] rulers of [the] Philistines and they said to her entice him and see how? [is] strength his great and how? will we prevail to him and we will bind him to humble him and we we will give to you each one thousand and one hundred silver.
6 Da bat Delila den Simson: »Verrate mir doch, woher deine große Kraft kommt und womit man dich binden müßte, um dich zu überwältigen.«
And she said Delilah to Samson tell! please to me how? [is] strength your great and how? will you be bound to humble you.
7 Simson antwortete ihr: »Wenn man mich mit sieben frischen, noch nicht ausgetrockneten Sehnen bände, so würde ich schwach sein und wie jeder andere Mensch werden.«
And he said to her Samson if people will bind me with seven cords fresh which not they have been dried and I will be weak and I will be like one of humankind.
8 Da brachten die Fürsten der Philister sieben frische, noch nicht ausgetrocknete Sehnen zu ihr hinauf, und sie band ihn damit,
And they brought up to her [the] rulers of [the] Philistines seven cords fresh which not they had been dried and she bound him with them.
9 während sich Leute, die ihn überfallen sollten, bei ihr im Frauengemach befanden. Als sie ihm nun zurief: »Die Philister überfallen dich, Simson!«, da zerriß er die Sehnen, wie ein Wergfaden zerreißt, wenn er Feuer riecht; und seine Kraft blieb unerklärt.
And the ambusher [was] sitting of her in the chamber and she said to him [the] Philistines [are] on you O Samson and he tore apart the cords just as it is torn apart thread of tow when smells it fire and not it was known strength his.
10 Da sagte Delila zu Simson: »Siehe, du hast mich betrogen und mir Lügen vorgeredet. Verrate mir jetzt doch, womit man dich binden kann!«
And she said Delilah to Samson here! you have deceived me and you have spoken to me lies now tell! please to me how? will you be bound.
11 Da antwortete er ihr: »Wenn man mich fest mit neuen Seilen bände, die noch zu keiner Arbeit benutzt sind, so würde ich schwach sein und wie jeder andere Mensch werden.«
And he said to her certainly [if] they will bind me with ropes new which not it has been done with them work and I will be weak and I will be like one of humankind.
12 Da nahm Delila neue Seile und band ihn damit; dann rief sie ihm zu: »Die Philister überfallen dich, Simson!« – es befanden sich aber (auch diesmal) Leute, die ihn überfallen sollten, im Frauengemach –; da riß er die Stricke von seinen Armen ab wie einen Faden.
And she took Delilah ropes new and she bound him with them and she said to him [the] Philistines [are] on you O Samson and the ambusher [was] sitting in the chamber and he tore apart them from on arms his like thread.
13 Nun sagte Delila zu Simson: »Bisher hast du mich betrogen und mir Lügen vorgeredet; verrate mir doch, womit man dich binden kann!« Da antwortete er ihr: »Wenn du die sieben Locken meines Kopfes in den Aufzug eines Gewebes hineinwebtest und sie mit dem Pflock festschlügest, so würde ich schwach sein und wie jeder andere Mensch werden.« Da ließ sie ihn einschlafen, webte die sieben Locken seines Kopfes in den Aufzug eines Gewebes hinein
And she said Delilah to Samson until now you have deceived me and you have spoken to me lies tell! to me how? will you be bound and he said to her if you will weave seven [the] plaits of head my with the web. (And you will strike with a pin to the wall and I will be weak and I will be like one man. *X*)
14 und schlug den Aufzug mit dem Pflock fest. Als sie ihm nun zurief: »Die Philister überfallen dich, Simson!« und er aus seinem Schlaf erwachte, riß er den Webepflock samt dem Aufzug heraus.
(And she made sleep him and she wove seven [the] plaits head his with the web *X*) and she thrust with the pin and she said to him [the] Philistines [are] on you O Samson and he awoke from sleep his and he pulled out the pin of the loom and the web.
15 Da sagte sie zu ihm: »Wie kannst du behaupten, du habest mich lieb, während doch dein Herz mir gar nicht gehört? Du hast mich nun schon dreimal betrogen und mir nicht verraten, woher deine große Kraft rührt.«
And she said to him how? will you say I love you and heart your not [is] with me this three times you have deceived me and not you have told to me how? [is] strength your great.
16 Als sie ihm nun alle Tage mit ihren Reden zusetzte und ihm keine Ruhe ließ, so daß er gar keine Freude mehr am Leben hatte,
And it was that she pressed him with words her all the days and she urged him and it was short self his to die.
17 schüttete er ihr sein ganzes Herz aus, so daß er zu ihr sagte: »Noch kein Schermesser ist auf mein Haupt gekommen; denn ich bin ein Gottgeweihter von meiner Geburt an; würde ich geschoren, so würde meine Kraft von mir weichen; ich würde dann schwach sein und wie alle anderen Menschen werden.«
And he told to her all heart his and he said to her a razor not it has come up on head my for [am] a Nazirite of God I from [the] womb of mother my if I was shaved and it will depart from me strength my and I will be weak and I will be like every man.
18 Da nun Delila erkannte, daß er ihr sein ganzes Herz ausgeschüttet hatte, ließ sie die Fürsten der Philister rufen und ihnen sagen: »Diesmal müßt ihr heraufkommen, denn er hat mir sein ganzes Herz entdeckt.« Da begaben sich die Fürsten der Philister zu ihr hinauf und brachten auch das Geld mit.
And she saw (Delilah *LA(bh)*) that he had told to her all heart his and she sent and she summoned [the] rulers of [the] Philistines saying come up this time for he has told (to me *Q(K)*) all heart his and they came up to her [the] rulers of [the] Philistines and they brought up the silver in hand their.
19 Als sie ihn dann auf ihrem Schoße hatte einschlafen lassen, rief sie einen Mann herbei, der die sieben Locken auf seinem Haupt abscheren mußte; da wurde er schwächer und schwächer, und seine Kraft wich von ihm.
And she made sleep him on knees her and she summoned the man and she shaved off seven [the] plaits of head his and she began to humble him and it departed strength his from on him.
20 Als sie nun rief: »Die Philister überfallen dich, Simson!« und er aus seinem Schlaf erwachte, dachte er: »Ich werde mich auch jetzt wie die vorigen Male frei machen und glücklich davonkommen!« Er wußte ja nicht, daß der HERR von ihm gewichen war.
And she said [the] Philistines [are] on you O Samson and he awoke from sleep his and he said I will go out as time on time so I may shake myself free and he not he knew that Yahweh he had departed from with him.
21 Da ergriffen ihn die Philister, stachen ihm die Augen aus und führten ihn nach Gaza hinab; dort legten sie ihn in eherne Doppelketten, und er mußte im Gefängnis die Handmühle drehen.
And they seized him [the] Philistines and they gouged out eyes his and they brought down him Gaza towards and they bound him with bronze fetters and he was grinding in [the] house of (those imprisoned. *Q(K)*)
22 Allmählich wuchs ihm aber das Haupthaar wieder, nachdem es abgeschoren worden war.
And it began [the] hair of head his to grow back when it had been shaved.
23 Nun kamen einst die Fürsten der Philister zusammen, um ihrem Gott Dagon ein großes Schlachtopfer zu veranstalten und ein Freudenfest zu feiern; denn sie sagten: »Unser Gott hat unsern Feind Simson in unsere Hand gegeben!«
And [the] rulers of [the] Philistines they gathered to sacrifice a sacrifice great to Dagon god their and for joy and they said he has given god our in hand our Samson enemies our.
24 Als ihn nun das Volk erblickte, priesen sie ihren Gott, indem sie ausriefen: »Unser Gott hat unsern Feind in unsere Hand gegeben, der unsere Felder verwüstet und viele von unsern Leuten erschlagen hat.«
And they saw him the people and they praised god their for they said he has given god our in hand our enemy our and [the] desolator of land our and who he has multiplied slain [ones] our.
25 Als nun ihr Herz guter Dinge war, riefen sie: »Laßt Simson herkommen, damit er uns belustige!« So ließ man denn Simson aus dem Gefängnis holen, und er mußte vor ihnen spielen. Da man ihn nun zwischen die Säulen (der Halle) gestellt hatte,
And it was (like good *Q(K)*) heart their and they said summon Samson so he may make sport for us and they summoned Samson from [the] house of (those imprisoned *Q(K)*) and he made sport before them and they made stand him between the pillars.
26 bat Simson den Burschen, der ihn an der Hand gefaßt hielt: »Laß mich doch mal los, damit ich die Säulen betaste, auf denen das Haus ruht: ich möchte mich an sie anlehnen!«
And he said Samson to the young man who kept hold on hand his permit! me (and let feel me *Q(K)*) the pillars which the house [is] established on them so I may lean on them.
27 Das Haus war aber voll von Männern und Frauen; auch alle Fürsten der Philister waren dort anwesend, und auf dem Dache befanden sich gegen dreitausend Männer und Frauen, die dem Spiel Simsons zugesehen hatten.
And the house was full men and women and [were] there all [the] rulers of [the] Philistines and [were] on the roof about three thousand man and woman who were looking when sported Samson.
28 Da betete Simson zum HERRN mit den Worten: »O HERR, mein Gott! Gedenke doch meiner und verleihe mir nur dies eine Mal noch Kraft, o Gott, damit ich Rache an den Philistern nehme für eins von meinen beiden Augen!«
And he called out Samson to Yahweh and he said O Lord Yahweh remember me please and strengthen me please only the time this O God so let me avenge myself vengeance of one from [the] two eyes my from [the] Philistines.
29 Darauf umfaßte Simson die beiden Mittelsäulen, auf denen das Haus ruhte, die eine mit seinem rechten, die andere mit seinem linken Arm, und stemmte sich gegen sie;
And he grasped Samson [the] two - [the] pillars of the middle which the house [was] established on them and he supported himself on them one in right [hand] his and one in left [hand] his.
30 und indem er ausrief: »Nun will ich mit den Philistern sterben!«, neigte er sich mit aller Kraft vornüber. Da stürzte das Haus auf die Fürsten und auf alle Leute, die darin waren, und die Zahl der Toten, die er im Sterben tötete, war größer als die Zahl derer, die er während seines Lebens getötet hatte.
And he said Samson let it die life my with [the] Philistines and he stretched out with strength and it fell the house on the rulers and on all the people which [was] in it and they were the dead whom he killed in death his many more than [those] whom he had killed in life his.
31 Darauf kamen seine Stammesgenossen und seine ganze Familie hinab und holten seinen Leichnam; sie brachten ihn dann hinauf und begruben ihn zwischen Zora und Esthaol im Grabe seines Vaters Manoah. Er war aber zwanzig Jahre lang Richter in Israel gewesen.
And they went down brothers his and all [the] household of father his and they carried him and they brought [him] up - and they buried him between Zorah and between Eshtaol in [the] tomb of Manoah father his and he he judged Israel twenty year[s].
