Josua 17

1 Sodann fiel dem Stamm Manasse – dieser war nämlich der erstgeborene Sohn Josephs – sein Losanteil zu. Machir, dem erstgeborenen Sohne Manasses, dem Vater Gileads, wurde Gilead und Basan zuteil, denn er war ein Kriegsmann.

And it belonged the lot to [the] tribe of Manasseh for he [was] [the] firstborn of Joseph to Makir [the] firstborn of Manasseh [the] father of Gilead for he he was a man of war and it belonged to him Gilead and Bashan.

2 Sodann erhielten die übrigen Nachkommen Manasses, Geschlecht für Geschlecht, ihren Anteil, nämlich die Nachkommen Abiesers, die Nachkommen Heleks, die Nachkommen Asriels, die Nachkommen Sichems, die Nachkommen Hephers und die Nachkommen Semidas; dies waren die männlichen Nachkommen Manasses, des Sohnes Josephs, Geschlecht für Geschlecht.

And it belonged to [the] descendants of Manasseh who remained to clans their to [the] descendants of Abiezer and to [the] descendants of Helek and to [the] descendants of Asriel and to [the] descendants of Shechem and to [the] descendants of Hepher and to [the] descendants of Shemida these [were] [the] descendants of Manasseh [the] son of Joseph the males to clans their.

3 Aber Zelophhad, der Sohn Hephers, des Sohnes Gileads, des Sohnes Machirs, des Sohnes Manasses, hatte keine Söhne, sondern nur Töchter; deren Namen waren Mahla, Noa, Hogla, Milka und Thirza.

And to Zelophehad [the] son of Hepher [the] son of Gilead [the] son of Makir [the] son of Manasseh not they belonged to him sons that except daughters and these [are] [the] names of daughters his Mahlah and Noah Hoglah Milcah and Tirzah.

4 Diese traten nun vor den Priester Eleasar und vor Josua, den Sohn Nuns, und vor die Fürsten und sagten: »Der HERR hat Mose geboten, uns ein Erbteil unter unsern Stammesgenossen zu geben.« Da überwies er ihnen nach dem Befehl des HERRN ein Erbteil unter den Stammesgenossen ihres Vaters;

And they drew near before Eleazar the priest and before - Joshua [the] son of Nun and before the leaders saying Yahweh he commanded Moses to give to us an inheritance in among brothers our and he gave to them to [the] mouth of Yahweh an inheritance in among [the] brothers of father their.

5 und so fielen dem Stamm Manasse zehn Losanteile zu, abgesehen von der Landschaft Gilead und Basan, die jenseits des Jordans liegen;

And they fell [the] allotted portions of Manasseh ten apart from [the] land of Gilead and Bashan which [is] from [the] other side of the Jordan.

6 denn die weiblichen Nachkommen Manasses erhielten ein Erbteil gerade wie seine männlichen Nachkommen; die Landschaft Gilead aber kam an die übrigen Nachkommen Manasses.

For [the] daughters of Manasseh they inherited an inheritance in among sons his and [the] land of Gilead it belonged to [the] descendants of Manasseh who remained.

7 Es geht aber die Grenze des Stammes Manasse von Asser nach Michmethath, das östlich von Sichem liegt; dann geht die Grenze südwärts zu den Bewohnern von En-Thappuah hin.

And it was [the] border of Manasseh from Asher Micmethath which [is] on [the] face of Shechem and it goes the border to the south to [the] inhabitants of En Tappuah.

8 Die Landschaft Thappuah gehört zum Stamm Manasse; die Stadt Thappuah selbst aber, an der Grenze von Manasse, gehört zum Stamme Ephraim.

To Manasseh it belonged [the] land of Tappuah and Tappuah to [the] border of Manasseh [belonged] to [the] descendants of Ephraim.

9 Dann geht die Grenze hinab zum Bache Kana, südlich von dem Bache – die dort mitten unter den Städten Manasses liegenden Ortschaften gehören zum Stamm Ephraim –; alsdann aber läuft die Grenze nördlich vom Bache und endet am Meer;

And it goes down the border [the] wadi of Kanah [the] south towards to the wadi cities these [belonged] to Ephraim in among [the] cities of Manasseh and [the] border of Manasseh [was] from [the] north of the wadi and it was extremities its the sea towards.

10 die Südseite ist ephraimitisch, die Nordseite manassitisch, und das Meer bildet hier die Grenze; nordwärts aber stoßen sie an Asser, ostwärts an Issaschar.

South-ward [belonged] to Ephraim and north-ward [belonged] to Manasseh and it was the sea border its and Asher they touch! from [the] north and Issachar from [the] east.

11 Außerdem erhielt der Stamm Manasse in Issaschar und in Asser folgende Städte: Beth-Sean mit den zugehörigen Ortschaften, ferner Jibleam mit den zugehörigen Ortschaften sowie die Bewohner von Dor und von En-Dor mit den zugehörigen Ortschaften, die Bewohner von Thaanach mit den zugehörigen Ortschaften und die Bewohner von Megiddo mit den zugehörigen Ortschaften: das Dreihügelgebiet. –

And it belonged to Manasseh in Issachar and in Asher Beth Shean and daughters its and Ibleam and daughters its and [the] inhabitants of Dor and daughters its and [the] inhabitants of En-dor and daughters its and [the] inhabitants of Taanach and daughters its and [the] inhabitants of Megiddo and daughters its [the] three of Napheth.

12 Der Stamm Manasse vermochte jedoch nicht diese Städte zu erobern; daher gelang es den Kanaanäern, in dieser Gegend wohnen zu bleiben.

And not they were able [the] descendants of Manasseh to take possession of the cities these and he was determined the Canaanite[s] to dwell in the land this.

13 Als später aber die Israeliten erstarkten, machten sie die Kanaanäer fronpflichtig, ohne sie jedoch ganz vertreiben zu können.

And it was that they became strong [the] people of Israel and they made the Canaanite[s] forced labor and certainly not he dispossessed him.

14 Da wandten sich die beiden Josephstämme an Josua und trugen ihm folgendes vor: »Warum hast du mir nur ein Los und einen einzigen Anteil als Erbbesitz gegeben, obgleich ich doch ein zahlreiches Volk bin, da der HERR mich bisher gesegnet hat?«

And they spoke [the] descendants of Joseph with Joshua saying why? have you given to me an inheritance a lot one and a portion one and I [am] a people numerous to that until thus he has blessed me Yahweh.

15 Josua antwortete ihnen: »Wenn du ein zahlreiches Volk bist, so ziehe doch in den Wald hinauf und schaffe dir dort im Lande der Pherissiter und der Rephaiter durch Ausroden des Waldes Raum zum Wohnen, wenn dir das Bergland Ephraim zu enge ist.«

And he said to them Joshua if [are] a people numerous you go up for yourself the forest towards and you will cut down for yourself there in [the] land of the Perizzite[s] and the Rephaites that it is narrow for you [the] hill country of Ephraim.

16 Da entgegneten die Nachkommen Josephs: »Das Bergland reicht für uns nicht aus; alle Kanaanäer aber, die unten in der Ebene wohnen, haben eiserne Streitwagen, sowohl die, welche in Beth-Sean und den zugehörigen Ortschaften, als auch die, welche in der Ebene Jesreel wohnen.«

And they said [the] descendants of Joseph not it will be found for us the hill country and chariotry of iron [is] among all the Canaanite[s] who dwells in [the] land of the valley to [those] who [are] in Beth Shean and daughters its and to [those] who [are] in [the] valley of Jezreel.

17 Da antwortete Josua den beiden Josephstämmen Ephraim und Manasse: »Du bist ein sehr zahlreiches und sehr starkes Volk; so sollst du nicht nur ein Los erhalten;

And he said Joshua to [the] house of Joseph to Ephraim and to Manasseh saying [are] a people numerous you and strength great [belongs] to you not it will belong to you a lot one.

18 denn ein Bergland wird dir zuteil werden. Da es Wald ist, mußt du ihn ausroden: dann werden auch die Ausläufer dir zuteil werden; denn du wirst die Kanaanäer vertreiben, wenn sie auch eiserne Wagen haben und wenn sie auch stark sind.«

For [the] hill country it will belong to you for [is] forest it and you will cut down it and it will belong to you extremities its for you will dispossess the Canaanite[s] for chariotry of iron [belongs] to him that [is] strong he.
