Jeremia 43

1 Als nun Jeremia dem ganzen Volk alle Worte, deren Verkündigung ihm vom HERRN, ihrem Gott, aufgetragen worden war, bis zu Ende mitgeteilt hatte, alle jene Worte,

And it came to pass, when Jeremiah had made an end of speaking unto the whole people all the words of the Lord their God, with which the Lord their God had sent him to them, [namely, ] all these words,

2 da sagten Asarja, der Sohn Hosajas, und Johanan, der Sohn Kareahs, und alle übrigen widerspenstigen Männer, die mit Jeremia redeten: »Du redest die Unwahrheit! Der HERR, unser Gott, hat dich nicht gesandt, um (uns) zu gebieten: ›Ihr sollt nicht nach Ägypten ziehen, um dort in fremdem Lande zu wohnen!‹,

That then spoke 'Azaryah the son of Hosha'yah, and Jochanan the son of Kareach, and all the presumptuous men, saying unto Jeremiah, Thou speakest falsely: the Lord our God hath not sent thee to say, Ye shall not go into Egypt to sojourn there;

3 sondern Baruch, der Sohn Nerijas, hetzt dich gegen uns auf, in der Absicht, uns den Chaldäern in die Hände zu liefern, damit sie uns töten und uns nach Babylon in die Verbannung führen!«

But Baruch the son of Neriyah setteth thee on against us, in order to deliver us into the hand of the Chaldeans, that they may put us to death, or carry us away as exiles to Babylon.

4 So kamen denn Johanan, der Sohn Kareahs, samt allen Truppenführern und das gesamte Volk der Weisung des HERRN, im Lande Juda zu bleiben, nicht nach;

So Jochanan the son of Kareach, and all the captains of the armies, and all the people, hearkened not to the voice of the Lord, to remain in the land of Judah.

5 vielmehr nahm Johanan, der Sohn Kareahs, samt allen Truppenführern den gesamten Überrest der Judäer, alle, die aus allen Völkerschaften, wohin sie sich zerstreut hatten, zurückgekehrt waren, um sich im Lande Juda niederzulassen,

But Jochanan the son of Kareach, and all the captains of the armies, took all the remnant of Judah, that were returned from all the nations, whither they had been driven, to sojourn in the land of Judah;

6 die Männer samt den Weibern und Kindern, die königlichen Frauen, überhaupt alle die Personen, die Nebusaradan, der Befehlshaber der Leibwache, bei Gedalja, dem Sohne Ahikams, des Sohnes Saphans, zurückgelassen hatte, unter ihnen auch den Propheten Jeremia und Baruch, den Sohn Nerijas,

The men, and the women, and the children, and the king's daughters, and every person that Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard had left with Gedalyahu the son of Achikam the son of Shaphan; and Jeremiah the prophet, and Baruch the son of Neriyah;

7 und zogen im Ungehorsam gegen die Weisung des HERRN nach Ägypten. Sie kamen dann nach Thachpanches.

And they entered into the land of Egypt; for they hearkened not to the voice of the Lord; and they came as far as Thachpanches.

8 Da erging das Wort des HERRN an Jeremia in Thachpanches folgendermaßen:

Then came the word of the Lord unto Jeremiah in Thachpanches, saying,

9 »Hole große Steine herbei und grabe sie in den Lehmboden ein beim Ziegel-Ofen, der am Eingang zum Palast des Pharaos in Thachpanches steht, im Beisein judäischer Männer,

Take great stones in thy hand, and hide them in the mortar in the brick-kiln which is at the entrance of Pharaoh's house in Thachpanches, before the eyes of the Jewish men;

10 und sage zu ihnen: ›So hat der HERR der Heerscharen, der Gott Israels, gesprochen: Wisset wohl: ich will meinen Knecht Nebukadnezar, den König von Babylon, herkommen lassen und seinen Thron auf diesen Steinen, die du hier eingesenkt hast, aufstellen; er wird dann sein Thronzelt über ihnen ausspannen.

And thou shalt say unto them, Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, Behold, I will send for and take Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and I will set his throne above these stones that I have hidden; and he shall spread his royal pavilion over them.

11 Er wird herkommen und das Land Ägypten schlagen: was für den Tod bestimmt ist, verfällt dem Tode, was für die Gefangenschaft bestimmt ist, der Gefangenschaft, und was für das Schwert bestimmt ist, dem Schwert.

And he shall come and smite the land of Egypt: such as are destined for death shall be given to death; and such as are destined for captivity, to captivity; and such as are destined for the sword, to the sword.

12 Dann wird er Feuer an die Tempel der Götter Ägyptens legen und sie verbrennen, und er wird sie wegführen und das Land Ägypten um sich wickeln, wie der Hirt seinen Mantel um sich wickelt, und dann unbehelligt wieder abziehen.

And I will kindle a fire in the houses of the gods of Egypt, and he shall burn them, and carry them away captive: and he shall wrap around him the land of Egypt, as a shepherd wrappeth his garment around him; and he shall go forth from there in peace.

13 Die Obelisken des Sonnentempels (von Heliopolis) im Lande Ägypten wird er zertrümmern und die Tempel der ägyptischen Götter in Flammen aufgehen lassen.‹«

And he shall break the statues of Bethshemesh, which is in the land of Egypt; and the houses of the gods of the Egyptians shall he burn with fire.
