Jeremia 13
1 So hat der HERR zu mir gesprochen: »Gehe hin und kaufe dir einen linnenen Gürtel und lege ihn dir um die Hüften, aber laß ihn nicht ins Wasser geraten!«
The Lord seith these thingis to me, Go, and take in possessioun to thee a lynnun breigirdil; and thou schalt putte it on thi leendis, and thou schalt not bere it in to watir.
2 Da kaufte ich den Gürtel nach dem Befehl des HERRN und legte ihn mir um die Hüften.
And Y took in possessioun a breigirdil, bi the word of the Lord; and Y puttide aboute my leendis.
3 Hierauf erging das Wort des HERRN zum zweitenmal an mich folgendermaßen:
And the word of the Lord was maad to me in the secounde tyme,
4 »Nimm den Gürtel, den du dir gekauft hast und um deine Hüften trägst, und mache dich auf, gehe an den Euphrat und verstecke ihn dort in einer Felsspalte!«
and seide, Take the brigirdil, which thou haddist in possessioun, which is aboute thi leendis; and rise thou, and go to Eufrates, and hide thou it there, in the hoole of a stoon.
5 Da ging ich hin und versteckte ihn am Euphrat, wie der HERR mir geboten hatte.
And Y yede, and hidde it in Eufrates, as the Lord comaundide to me.
6 Nach längerer Zeit aber sagte der HERR zu mir: »Mache dich auf, gehe an den Euphrat und hole von dort den Gürtel, den du dort auf meinen Befehl versteckt hast!«
And it was don aftir ful many daies, the Lord seide to me, Rise thou, and go to Eufrates, and take fro thennus the brigirdil, whiche Y comaundide to thee, that thou schuldist hide it there.
7 Da begab ich mich an den Euphrat, grub nach und nahm den Gürtel von der Stelle, wo ich ihn versteckt hatte; aber siehe da: der Gürtel war verdorben, war zu nichts mehr zu gebrauchen!
And Y yede to Eufrates, and diggide out, and Y took the breigirdil fro the place, where Y hadde hidde it; and lo! the breigirdil was rotun, so that it was not able to ony vss.
8 Da erging das Wort des HERRN an mich folgendermaßen:
And the word of the Lord was maad to me,
9 »So spricht der HERR: Ebenso will ich den Hochmut Judas und den Hochmut Jerusalems, der so gewaltig ist, ins Verderben stürzen!
and seide, The Lord seith these thingis, So Y schal make rotun the pride of Juda, and the myche pride of Jerusalem,
10 Dieses böse Volk, das sich weigert, auf meine Worte zu hören, das da wandelt im Starrsinn seines Herzens und anderen Göttern nachläuft, um ihnen zu dienen und sie anzubeten: es soll ihm ebenso ergehen wie diesem Gürtel, der zu nichts mehr taugt.
and this worste puple, that nylen here my wordis, and goen in the schrewidnesse of her herte; and thei yeden aftir alien goddis, to serue hem, and to worschipe hem; and thei schulen be as this breigirdil, which is not able to ony vss.
11 Denn gleichwie der Gürtel sich eng an die Hüften eines Mannes anschließt, so hatte ich das ganze Haus Israel und das ganze Haus Juda sich eng an mich anschließen lassen« – so lautet der Ausspruch des HERRN –, »damit sie mein Volk würden, mir zum Ruhm und zum Lobpreis und zur Zierde; aber sie haben nicht gehorcht.«
For as a breigirdil cleueth to the leendis of a man, so Y ioynede faste to me al the hous of Israel, and al the hous of Juda, seith the Lord, that thei schulden be to me in to a puple, and in to name, and in to heriyng, and in to glorie; and thei herden not.
12 »So richte denn folgende Worte an sie: ›So hat der HERR, der Gott Israels, gesprochen: Jeder Krug wird mit Wein gefüllt.‹ Wenn sie dann zu dir sagen: ›Sollten wir das wirklich nicht selbst wissen, daß jeder Krug mit Wein gefüllt wird?‹,
Therfor thou schalt seie to hem this word, The Lord God of Israel seith these thingis, Ech potel schal be fillid of wyn. And thei schulen seie to thee, Whether we witen not, that ech potel schal be fillid of wyn?
13 so erwidere ihnen: ›So hat der HERR gesprochen: Fürwahr, ich will alle Bewohner dieses Landes, sowohl die Könige, die auf dem Throne Davids sitzen, als auch die Priester und Propheten und alle Bewohner Jerusalems mit Trunkenheit füllen
And thou schalt seie to hem, The Lord seith these thingis, Lo! Y shal fille with drunkenesse alle the dwelleris of this lond, and the kyngis of the generacioun of Dauith, that sitten on his trone, and the prestis, and profetis, and alle the dwelleris of Jerusalem.
14 und sie sich dann einen an dem andern zerschmettern lassen, und zwar die Väter zugleich mit den Söhnen!‹ – so lautet der Ausspruch des HERRN –; ›ich will dabei keine Schonung üben und kein Mitleid haben, und kein Erbarmen soll mich abhalten, sie zu vernichten!‹«
And Y schal scatere hem, a man fro his brother, and the fadris and sones togidere, seith the Lord; Y schal not spare, and Y schal not graunte, nether Y schal do mercy, that I leese not hem.
15 Höret und merkt auf! Seid nicht hochmütig, denn der HERR ist’s, der geredet hat!
Here ye, and perseyue with eeris; nyle ye be reisid, for the Lord spak.
16 Gebt dem HERRN, eurem Gott, die Ehre, bevor es Nacht wird und bevor eure Füße sich an den Bergen in der Dunkelheit stoßen und ihr dann auf Licht wartet, er es aber zu tiefster Finsternis macht und es in Wolkendunkel verwandelt!
Yyue ye glorie to youre Lord God, bifore that it wexe derk, and bifor that youre feet hirte at derk hillis; ye schulen abide liyt, and he schal sette it in to the schadewe of deeth, and in to derknesse.
17 Wenn ihr aber nicht gehorcht, so muß ich vor Kummer im Verborgenen weinen ob eurem Hochmut, und mein Auge muß unaufhörlich in Tränen zerfließen, weil die Herde des HERRN gefangen weggeführt wird.
That if ye heren not this, my soule schal wepe in hid place for the face of pride; it wepynge schal wepe, and myn iye shal caste out a teer, for the floc of the Lord is takun.
18 Sage zum König und zur Herrin: »Setzt euch tief herunter, denn vom Haupt ist euch eure herrliche Krone herabgefallen.
Seye thou to the kyng, and to the ladi, Be ye mekid, sitte ye, for the coroun of youre glorie schal go doun fro youre heed.
19 Die Städte des Südlands sind verschlossen, und niemand ist da, der sie öffnet; in Gefangenschaft wird Juda weggeführt insgesamt, weggeführt in voller Zahl!«
The cities of the south ben closid, and noon is that openith; al Juda is translatid bi perfit passyng ouere, ether goynge out of her lond.
20 Hebe deine Augen auf, Jerusalem, und sieh, wie sie von Norden daherkommen! Wo ist die Herde, die dir anvertraut war, deine prächtigen Schafe?
Reise ye youre iyen, and se ye, what men comen fro the north; where is the floc which is youun to thee, thi noble scheep?
21 Was wirst du sagen, wenn er die, welche du selbst als vertraute Freunde an dich gewöhnt hast, zum Oberhaupt über dich bestellt? Werden dich da nicht Wehen erfassen wie ein Weib in Geburtsnöten?
What schalt thou seie, whanne he schal visite thee? for thou hast tauyt hem ayens thee, and thou hast tauyt ayens thin heed. Whether sorewis han not take thee, as a womman trauelynge of child?
22 Und wenn du alsdann bei dir selber denkst: »Warum hat solches Leid mich getroffen?«, so wisse: Wegen deiner schweren Verschuldung wird dir die Schleppe aufgehoben, werden dir die Füße mit Gewalt entblößt.
That if thou seist in thin herte, Whi camen these thingis to me? for the multitude of thi wickidnesse thi schamefulere thingis ben schewid, thi feet ben defoulid.
23 Kann wohl ein Mohr seine Haut verwandeln und ein Pardel sein buntes Fell? Dann würdet auch ihr imstande sein gut zu handeln, die ihr an Bösestun gewöhnt seid.
If a man of Ethiopie mai chaunge his skyn, ether a pard mai chaunge hise dyuersitees, and ye moun do wel, whanne ye han lerned yuel.
24 »Darum will ich sie zerstreuen wie Spreu, die vor dem Wüstenwinde verfliegt.
And Y schal sowe hem abrood, as stobil which is rauyschid of the wynd in desert.
25 Das ist dein Los, dein Teil, das ich dir zugemessen habe« – so lautet der Ausspruch des HERRN –, »weil du mich vergessen und dein Vertrauen auf Trug gesetzt hast.
This is thi lot, and the part of thi mesure of me, seith the Lord; for thou foryetidist me, and tristidist in a leesyng.
26 Darum will auch ich dir deine Schleppen vorn bis über das Gesicht hochziehen, damit deine Scham sichtbar wird.
Wherfor and Y made nakid thin hipis ayens thi face, and thi schenschipe apperide,
27 Deine Ehebrecherei und dein brünstiges Wiehern, die Schmach deiner Buhlerei – auf den Hügeln wie im freien Felde habe ich deine Greuel gesehen! Wehe dir, Jerusalem, daß du dich nicht reinigst! Wie lange wird’s noch währen?«
thin auowtries, and thin neyyng, and the felonye of thi fornycacioun on litle hillis in the feeld; Y siy thin abhomynaciouns. Jerusalem, wo to thee, thou schalt not be clensid after me til yit.
