Jesaja 63
1 Wer ist es, der dort von Edom herkommt, von Bozra in hochroten Kleidern? Prächtig ist er in seinem Gewand, stolz schreitet er einher in der Fülle seiner Kraft. »Ich bin es, der mit Gerechtigkeit redet, der reiche Mittel hat zu retten.«
Who is this that cometh from Edom, dyed red in his garments from Bozrah? this—glorious in his apparel, moving along in the greatness of his strength? “I who speak in righteousness, mighty to save.”
2 »Woher rührt das Rot an deinem Gewande, und warum sehen deine Kleider aus wie die eines Keltertreters?«
Why is redness on thy apparel, and [why are] thy garments as of one that treadeth the wine-press?
3 »Die Kelter habe ich getreten, ich allein, denn von den Völkern stand niemand mir bei; da habe ich sie in meinem Zorn niedergetreten und in meinem Grimm zerstampft; dabei ist ihr Lebenssaft an meine Kleider gespritzt, so daß ich meine ganze Gewandung besudelt habe.
“I have trodden the vat alone, and of the nations there was no man with me; and I trod them down in my anger, and I trampled on them in my fury; and their blood was sprinkled on my garments, and all my raiments have I stained.
4 Denn ein Tag der Rache lag mir im Sinn, und das Jahr meiner Erlösung war gekommen.
For the day of vengeance was in my heart, and the year of my redeemed was come.
5 Ich schaute mich um, doch niemand war da, um zu helfen; ich blickte erstaunt umher, doch niemand war da, der mir beistand; da hat mein Arm mir geholfen, und mein Grimm, der hat mir Beistand geleistet.
And I looked, and there was no one to help, and I was astonished, and there was no one to support; and then my own arm aided me, and my fury—this it was that upheld me.
6 So habe ich denn Völker in meinem Zorn niedergetreten und sie in meinem Grimm zerschmettert und habe ihren Lebenssaft zur Erde rinnen lassen.«
And I stamped down nations in my anger, and I made them drunken with my fury, and brought down to the earth their victorious strength.”
7 Der Gnadenerweise des HERRN will ich gedenken, der Ruhmestaten des HERRN, wie sich’s gebührt nach allem, was der HERR an uns getan hat, und nach der großen Güte gegen das Haus Israel, dem er Gutes erwiesen hat nach seiner Barmherzigkeit und nach der großen Zahl seiner Gnadenverheißungen.
The kindnesses of the Lord will I mention, the praises of the Lord, in accordance with all that the Lord hath bestowed on us, and the abundant goodness toward the house of Israel, which he hath bestowed on them according to his mercies, and the abundance of his kindnesses.
8 Denn er sagte: »Sie sind ja doch mein Volk, Söhne, die nicht treulos sein werden«; so erwies er sich ihnen denn als Retter.
And he said, Surely they are my people, children that will not lie; and he became to them a Saviour.
9 In allen ihren Bedrängnissen fühlte (auch) er sich bedrängt, und der Engel seines Angesichts rettete sie; in seiner Liebe und Milde erlöste er selbst sie und hob sie immer wieder empor und trug sie einher alle Tage der Vorzeit hindurch.
In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them; in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bore them, and he carried them all the days of old.
10 Sie aber waren widerspenstig und betrübten seinen heiligen Geist, so daß er sich ihnen in einen Feind verwandelte und selbst gegen sie stritt.
But they rebelled, and grieved his holy Spirit; and he changed himself to become their enemy, and he fought against them.
11 Da dachte sein Volk zurück an die Tage der Vorzeit, an Mose: »Wo ist der, welcher den Hirten seiner Herde aus dem Meer heraufgeholt hat? Wo ist der, welcher seinen heiligen Geist ihm ins Herz gab?
Then remembered his people the ancient days of Moses, Where is he that brought them up out of the sea with the shepherd of his flock? where is he that put within him his holy Spirit?
12 Welcher seinen gewaltigen Arm zur Rechten Moses einhergehen ließ? Welcher die Wasser ihretwegen zerteilte, um sich einen ewigen Namen zu schaffen?
That displayed by the right hand of Moses his glorious arm; that divided the water before them, to make unto himself an everlasting name?
13 Welcher sie durch die Fluten ziehen ließ wie Rosse in der Steppe, so daß sie nicht strauchelten?
That led them through the deeps, as a horse through the wilderness, that they should not stumble?
14 Gleich der Herde, die ins Tal hinabzieht, brachte der Geist des HERRN sie zur Ruhe.« So hast du dein Volk geleitet, um dir einen ruhmvollen Namen zu machen.
As a beast goeth down into the valley, so did the spirit of the Lord bring them to rest; thus didst thou guide thy people, to make unto thyself a glorious name.
15 Blicke vom Himmel hernieder und schaue von deiner heiligen und prächtigen Wohnung her! Wo ist dein Eifer und deine Heldenkraft, der Drang deines Herzens und dein Erbarmen? Halte dich doch nicht zurück (gegen mich)!
Look down from heaven, and behold, from the habitation of thy holiness and of thy glory: where are thy zeal and thy mights, the yearning of thy bowels and of thy mercy which are now restrained from me?
16 Denn du bist unser Vater. Abraham weiß ja nichts von uns, und Israel kennt uns nicht: du, HERR, bist unser Vater; ›unser Erlöser‹ ist von alters her dein Name.
For thou art our father; for Abraham knoweth nothing of us, and Israel recogniseth us not: thou, O Lord, art our father, our Redeemer from everlasting is thy name.
17 Warum hast du uns abirren lassen, HERR, von deinen Wegen und unser Herz verhärtet, so daß es dich nicht mehr fürchtet? Kehre zurück um deiner Knechte willen, um der Stämme willen, die dein Eigentum sind!
Why hast thou let us go astray, O Lord, from thy ways, suffered our heart to be hardened against thy fear? Return for the sake of thy servants, the tribes of thy heritage.
18 Nur kurze Zeit ist das dir geheiligte Volk im Besitz seines Erbes gewesen, da haben unsere Widersacher dein Heiligtum zertreten.
But a brief space were thy holy people in possession, when our adversaries trod down thy sanctuary.
19 a Es ist uns ergangen wie solchen, über die du nicht von alters her geherrscht hast und über denen dein Name niemals genannt worden ist.
We are become as though we are those over whom thou hast never ruled, over whom thy name hath not been called.
