Jesaja 57

1 Der Gerechte kommt um, ohne daß jemand es sich zu Herzen nimmt, und die Frommen werden hinweggerafft, ohne daß jemand es beachtet; denn der Gerechte wird infolge der herrschenden Bosheit hinweggerafft;

The righteous perisheth, and no man considereth it in heart: and mercifull men are taken away, and no man vnderstandeth that the righteous is taken away from the euill to come.

2 es geht (aber) ein zum Frieden, es ruht auf seiner Lagerstätte aus ein jeder, der seinen Weg gerade vor sich hin gewandelt ist.

Peace shall come: they shall rest in their beds, euery one that walketh before him.

3 Ihr aber, tretet näher hierher, ihr Kinder der Zauberin, Brut, die du Ehebruch und Unzucht getrieben hast!

But you witches children, come hither, the seede of the adulterer and of the whore.

4 Über wen macht ihr euch lustig? Über wen reißt ihr den Mund weit auf und streckt die Zunge lang heraus? Seid ihr nicht Kinder treulosen Abfalls, eine Lügenbrut?

On whome haue ye iested? vpon whome haue ye gaped and thrust out your tongue? are not ye rebellious children, and a false seede?

5 Ihr, die ihr in Brunst glüht für die Götzen unter jedem dichtbelaubten Baum, die ihr Kinder in den Tälern schlachtet inmitten der Felsenklüfte!

Inflamed with idoles vnder euery greene tree? and sacrificing the children in the valleys vnder the tops of the rocks?

6 Mit den glatten Steinen des Talbaches hast du dir zu schaffen gemacht, sie sind dein Los gewesen; auch ihnen hast du Trankopfer ausgegossen, Speisopfer dargebracht: soll ich mich mit solchen Dingen zufrieden geben?

Thy portion is in the smooth stones of the riuer: they, they are thy lot: euen to them hast thou powred a drinke offering: thou hast offered a sacrifice. Should I delite in these?

7 Auf jedem hohen und ragenden Berge hast du dein Lager aufgeschlagen; auch dort bist du hinaufgestiegen, um Schlachtopfer darzubringen;

Thou hast made thy bed vpon a very hie mountaine: thou wentest vp thither, euen thither wentest thou to offer sacrifice.

8 und hinter der Tür und dem Türpfosten hast du deinen Hausgötzen untergebracht; denn mir untreu, hast du dein Lager aufgedeckt und bestiegen, hast es auch breit gemacht und dir den Buhlerlohn von ihnen ausbedungen, hast nach ihrer Umarmung Verlangen getragen und ihre Blöße geschaut.

Behinde the doores also and postes hast thou set vp thy remembrance: for thou hast discouered thy selfe to another then me, and wentest vp, and diddest enlarge thy bed, and make a couenant betweene thee and them, and louedst their bed in euery place where thou sawest it.

9 Auch bist du mit Öl zum Moloch gezogen und hast wohlriechende Salben in Menge mitgenommen, hast deine Boten weithin gesandt und dich erniedrigt bis zur Unterwelt. (Sheol h7585)

Thou wentest to the Kings with oyle, and diddest increase thine oyntments and sende thy messengers farre off, and diddest humble thy selfe vnto hell. (Sheol h7585)

10 Wurdest du auch müde von deinem weiten Wandern, so hast du doch nicht gesagt: »Ich gebe es auf«; nein, du gewannest immer neue Kraft in deinen Gliedern; darum wurdest du nicht matt.

Thou weariedst thy selfe in thy manifolde iourneys, yet saydest thou not, There is no hope: thou hast found life by thine hand, therefore thou wast not grieued.

11 Und vor wem hast du dich gescheut und dich gefürchtet, so daß du die Treue brachest und meiner nicht mehr gedachtest und ich dir nicht in den Sinn kam? Nicht wahr? Weil ich mich schweigend verhielt, und zwar seit undenklicher Zeit, darum fürchtetest du dich nicht vor mir.

And whome diddest thou reuerence or feare, seeing thou hast lyed vnto me, and hast not remembred me, neither set thy minde thereon? is it not because I holde my peace, and that of long time? therefore thou fearest not me.

12 Aber ich will jetzt bekannt machen, wie es um deine Gerechtigkeit steht, und was deine Machwerke anlangt, so werden sie dir nichts nützen.

I will declare thy righteousnes and thy workes, and they shall not profite thee.

13 Wenn du dann schreist, mögen deine Haufen von Götzen dir helfen! Doch ein Windstoß wird sie alle davontragen, ein Hauch sie hinwegraffen. Aber wer auf mich vertraut, der wird das Land erben und meinen heiligen Berg in Besitz nehmen.

When thou cryest, let them that thou hast gathered together deliuer thee: but the winde shall take them all away: vanitie shall pull them away: but he that trusteth in me, shall inherite the lande, and shall possesse mine holy Mountaine.

14 Und er (der HERR) wird gebieten: »Schafft Bahn, schafft Bahn, bereitet einen Weg! Räumt meinem Volke jeden Anstoß aus dem Wege!«

And he shall say, Cast vp, cast vp: prepare the way: take vp the stumbling blocks out of the way of my people.

15 Denn so hat der Hohe und Erhabene gesprochen, der da ewiglich thront und dessen Name ›der Heilige‹ ist: »In der Höhe und im Heiligtum wohne ich und bei denen, die zerschlagenen und gebeugten Geistes sind, um neu zu beleben den Geist der Gebeugten und zu erquicken das Herz der Zerschlagenen.

For thus sayth he that is hie and excellent, he that inhabiteth the eternitie, whose Name is the Holy one, I dwell in the high and holy place: with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirite to reuiue the spirite of the humble, and to giue life to them that are of a contrite heart.

16 Denn nicht ewiglich will ich hadern und nicht immerdar zürnen; es müßte sonst ja jeder Geist vor mir verschmachten und die Lebensgeister, die ich selbst geschaffen habe.

For I will not contende for euer, neither will I be alwayes wroth, for the spirite should fayle before me: and I haue made the breath.

17 Nur wegen seiner sündhaften Habgier habe ich (dem Volk) gezürnt und es strafend heimgesucht, indem ich zornig mich verbarg, während es abtrünnig seinem selbstgewählten Wege nachging.

For his wicked couetousnesse I am angry with him, and haue smitten him: I hid mee and was angry, yet he went away, and turned after the way of his owne heart.

18 Seine Wege habe ich wohl gesehen, und doch will ich es heilen, will es leiten und ihm und zwar seinen Leidtragenden Trost als Vergeltung spenden,

I haue seene his wayes, and wil heale him: I wil leade him also, and restore comfort vnto him, and to those that lament him.

19 indem ich als die Frucht der Lippen Frieden schaffe, nämlich Frieden den Fernen und den Nahen!« spricht der HERR, »und ich will es heilen!« –

I create the fruite of the lips, to be peace: peace vnto them that are farre off, and to them that are neere, sayth the Lord: for I will heale him.

20 Aber die Gottlosen gleichen dem aufgewühlten Meer, das nicht zur Ruhe kommen kann und dessen Wasser Schlamm und Schmutz aufwühlen.

But the wicked are like the raging sea, that can not rest, whose waters cast vp myre and dirt.

21 »Keinen Frieden«, spricht mein Gott, »gibt es für die Gottlosen.«

There is no peace, sayth my God, to the wicked.
