Jesaja 56
1 So hat der HERR gesprochen: »Beobachtet das Recht und übet Gerechtigkeit! Denn nahe ist mein Heil, um einzutreffen, und meine Gerechtigkeit, um offenbar zu werden.«
Thus hath said the Lord, Keep ye justice, and do equity; for near is my salvation to come, and my righteousness to be revealed.
2 Wohl dem Menschen, der solches tut, und dem Menschenkind, das hieran festhält: der den Sabbat beobachtet, so daß er ihn nicht entheiligt, und seine Hand von jeder bösen Tat fernhält!
Happy is the mortal that ever doth this, and the son of man that ever layeth hold on it; that keepeth the sabbath by not violating it, and keepeth his hand from doing any evil.
3 Und der Fremdling, der sich an den HERRN angeschlossen hat, möge nicht sagen: »Der HERR wird mich sicherlich aus seinem Volk ausschließen!« Und der Verschnittene sage nicht: »Ach, ich bin nur ein dürrer Baum!«
And let not say the son of the stranger, that joineth himself unto the Lord, saying, Surely the Lord will exclude me from his people; nor let the eunuch say, Behold, I am a dry tree.
4 Vielmehr so hat der HERR gesprochen: »Den Verschnittenen, die meine Sabbate beobachten und das erwählen, woran ich Wohlgefallen habe, und meinem Bunde treu bleiben,
For thus hath said the Lord concerning the eunuchs that keep my sabbaths, and make choice of what pleaseth me, and take hold of my covenant.
5 denen will ich in meinem Hause und in meinen Mauern einen Platz und einen Namen verleihen, der besser ist als Söhne und Töchter: einen ewigen Namen will ich ihnen verleihen, der nicht ausgetilgt werden soll!
I will indeed give unto them in my house and within my walls a place and a name, better than sons and daughters: an everlasting name will I give them, that shall not be cut off.
6 Und die Fremdlinge, die sich an den HERRN anschließen, um ihm zu dienen und den Namen des HERRN zu lieben, um seine Knechte zu sein, alle, die den Sabbat unentweiht beobachten und meinem Bunde treu bleiben:
Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves unto the Lord, to serve him, and to love the name of the Lord, to be unto him as servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath by not violating it, and those who take hold of my covenant:
7 die will ich zu meinem heiligen Berge bringen und ihnen Freude gewähren in meinem Bethause, ihre Brandopfer und ihre Schlachtopfer sollen mir wohlgefällig sein auf meinem Altar; denn mein Haus soll ein Bethaus genannt werden für alle Völker.« –
Even these will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer; their burnt-offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon my altar; for my house shall be called a house of prayer for all the nations.
8 So lautet der Ausspruch Gottes des HERRN, der die verstoßenen Angehörigen Israels sammelt: »Ich will ihm noch mehr hinzusammeln zu denen, die schon gesammelt sind.«
Thus saith the Lord Eternal who gathereth the outcasts of Israel, I will yet gather [others] to him, beside his own gathered [outcasts].
9 Alle ihr Tiere des Feldes, kommt herbei zum Fressen, alle ihr Tiere im Walde!
All ye beasts of the field, come to devour, [yea, ] all ye beasts in the forest.
10 Die Hüter meines Volkes sind blind, allesamt ohne Einsicht; alle sind sie stumme Hunde, die nicht bellen können; träumend liegen sie da und schlafen gern;
His watchmen are all of them blind, they know nothing; they all are dumb dogs, they cannot bark; dreamers, lying down, loving to slumber.
11 und dabei sind sie freßgierige Hunde, die keine Sättigung kennen. Und zugleich sind sie Hirten, die kein Verständnis und keine Einsicht zeigen: alle gehen ihrem eigenen Wege nach, jeder ist auf seinen Vorteil bedacht, einer wie der andere.
But the dogs are of a greedy disposition, they know not how to be satisfied; and those are shepherds that know how to understand: they all turn to their own way, every one after his gain, from all quarters.
12 »Kommt her« (sagen sie), »ich will Wein holen, und Rauschtrank wollen wir zechen! Und morgen soll es wieder so zugehen wie heute, herrlich über alle Maßen!«
Come ye, I will fetch wine, and let us swallow abundantly of strong drink; and like this day shall it be tomorrow, excellent and in very great abundance.
