Jesaja 55
1 Ach ihr Durstigen alle, kommt her zum Wasser, und ihr alle, die ihr kein Geld habt, kommt herbei, kauft (Brot) und eßt! Ja kommt, kauft ohne Zahlung und unentgeltlich Wein und Milch!
All you who thirst, come to the waters. And you who have no money: hurry, buy and eat. Approach, buy wine and milk, without money and without barter.
2 Warum wollt ihr Geld für das zahlen, was kein Brot ist, und euren sauren Verdienst für etwas, das nicht zur Sättigung dient? Hört doch auf mich, so sollt ihr Gutes zu essen haben, und laben soll sich eure Seele an fetter Speise!
Why do you spend money for what is not bread, and expend your labor for what does not satisfy? Listen very closely to me, and eat what is good, and then your soul will be delighted by a full measure.
3 Leiht mir euer Ohr und kommt her zu mir! Hört, auf daß eure Seele auflebt! Denn ich will mit euch einen ewigen Bund schließen, (will) die dem David gegebenen unverbrüchlichen Gnadenverheißungen (verwirklichen).
Incline your ear and draw near to me. Listen, and your soul will live. And I will make an everlasting covenant with you, by the faithful mercies of David.
4 Wisset wohl: ich habe ihn zum Zeugen für Völker bestellt, zum Fürsten und Gebieter von Völkerschaften.
Behold, I have presented him as a witness to the people, as a commander and instructor to the nations.
5 Wisset wohl: Volksstämme, die du nicht kennst, wirst du herbeirufen, und Volksstämme, die auch dich nicht gekannt haben, werden zu dir herbeieilen um des HERRN, deines Gottes, willen und wegen des Heiligen Israels, weil er dich verherrlicht hat.
Behold, you will call to a nation that you did not know. And nations that did not know you will rush to you, because of the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel. For he has glorified you.
6 Suchet den HERRN, solange er sich finden läßt; ruft ihn an, solange er nahe ist!
Seek the Lord, while he is able to be found. Call upon him, while he is near.
7 Der Gottlose verlasse seinen Weg und der auf Frevel Bedachte seine Gedanken und kehre zum HERRN zurück, daß er sich seiner erbarme, und zu unserm Gott, denn er übt reichlich Vergebung.
Let the impious one abandon his way, and the iniquitous man his thoughts, and let him return to the Lord, and he will take pity on him, and to our God, for he is great in forgiveness.
8 Denn »meine Gedanken sind nicht eure Gedanken, und eure Wege sind nicht meine Wege« – so lautet der Ausspruch des HERRN –;
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, and your ways are not my ways, says the Lord.
9 »sondern soviel der Himmel höher als die Erde ist, soviel höher sind meine Wege als eure Wege und meine Gedanken höher als eure Gedanken.
For just as the heavens are exalted above the earth, so also are my ways exalted above your ways, and my thoughts above your thoughts.
10 Denn gleichwie der Regen und der Schnee vom Himmel herabfällt und nicht dorthin zurückkehrt, er habe denn die Erde getränkt und befruchtet und sie zum Grünen gebracht, so daß sie dem Sämann Samen und dem Essenden Brot gegeben hat –
And in the same manner as rain and snow descend from heaven, and no longer return there, but soak the earth, and water it, and cause it to bloom and to provide seed to the sower and bread to the hungry,
11 ebenso verhält es sich auch mit meinem Wort, das aus meinem Munde hervorgeht: es kehrt nicht leer zu mir zurück, sondern erst dann, wenn es das ausgerichtet hat, was ich gewollt habe, und das zustande gebracht hat, wozu ich es gesandt habe.«
so also will my word be, which will go forth from my mouth. It will not return to me empty, but it will accomplish whatever I will, and it will prosper in the tasks for which I sent it.
12 Denn mit Freuden sollt ihr ausziehen und in Frieden geleitet werden; die Berge und Hügel werden vor euch her in Jubel ausbrechen und alle Bäume des Gefildes in die Hände klatschen;
For you will go forth rejoicing, and you will be led forward in peace. The mountains and the hills will sing praise before you, and all the trees of the countryside will clap their hands.
13 statt des Dorngestrüpps werden Zypressen emporwachsen und statt der Nesseln Myrten sprießen; und das wird für den HERRN zum Ruhme dienen, zu einem ewigen Denkzeichen, das nicht ausgetilgt wird.
In place of the shrub, the pine tree will arise, and in place of the nettle, the myrtle tree will grow. And the Lord will be named with an eternal sign, which will not be taken away.
