Hosea 7
1 »Sooft ich Israel heilen will, treten die Verschuldung Ephraims und die Bosheit Samarias klar zutage; denn sie verüben Trug, brechen als Diebe (in die Häuser) ein, plündern draußen als Räuberbanden.
When I would have brought healing to Israel, then was disclosed the iniquity of Ephraim, and the wicked doings of Samaria, for they have wrought falsehood, —when, a thief, would enter, a band roamed about, outside,
2 Sie sagen sich nicht in ihrem Herzen, daß ich all ihrer Bosheit eingedenk bin; nunmehr stehen ihre Missetaten rings um sie her und sind vor meinen Augen offenbar.
And they say not to their own hearts, that, all their wickedness, I remember, now, have their doings, beset them about, right before my face, have they been done.
3 Mit ihrer Bosheit erfreuen sie den König und mit ihrer Falschheit die Fürsten.
By their wickedness, they gladden a king, and, by their flatteries, —rulers.
4 Sie sind allesamt Ehebrecher, gleichen einem geheizten Backofen, den der Bäcker nur vom Anmengen des Teigs bis zu seiner Gärung zu schüren aufhört.
They all, are adulterers, like an oven too hot for the baker, —who leaveth off stoking, after kneading the dough, till the whole be leavened.
5 Am Geburtstag unsers Königs machen die Fürsten ihn krank mit der Glut des Weins; er wechselt Händedruck mit den Spöttern.
In the day of our king, the rulers, have made themselves ill, with the heat of wine, —he hath extended his hand with scoffers.
6 Denn es brennt wie ein Ofen ihr Herz in ihrer Arglist; die ganze Nacht hindurch schläft ihr Zorn, am Morgen aber brennt er wie loderndes Feuer.
For they have made ready, like an oven, their heart, by their lying in wait, —all the night, their baker sleepeth, in the morning, he, kindleth up as it were a blazing fire.
7 Sie glühen allesamt wie ein Backofen und verzehren ihre Richter. Alle ihre Könige sind gefallen, ohne daß einer von ihnen mich angerufen hätte.«
They all, become hot as an oven, and devour their judges, —all their kings, have fallen, there hath been none among them crying unto me.
8 »Ephraim tritt in Verkehr mit den Völkern; Ephraim ist wie ein Brotkuchen geworden, den man nicht umgewandt hat.
As for Ephraim! with the peoples, hath he been mingling himself, —Ephraim, is a cake not turned.
9 Ausländer haben seine Kraft verzehrt, ohne daß er es merkt; schon ist graues Haar auf sein Haupt gesprengt, ohne daß er es merkt.
Foreigners have, eaten up, his strength, and, he, knoweth it not, —even gray hairs, are sprinkled upon him, and, he, knoweth it not.
10 Wiewohl aber der Stolz Israels offen Zeugnis gegen sie ablegt, sind sie doch nicht zum HERRN, ihrem Gott, umgekehrt und haben ihn trotz alledem nicht aufgesucht;
Therefore doth the Excellency of Israel, answer, to his face; yet have they not returned unto Yahweh their God, nor have they sought him, in spite of all this!
11 nein, Ephraim ist einer einfältigen Taube gleich geworden, ist ohne Verstand: Ägypten rufen sie an und laufen nach Assyrien!
So then, Ephraim, hath become, like a simple dove, having no understanding, on Egypt, have they called, to Assyria, have they gone,
12 Sobald sie hinlaufen, breite ich mein Fangnetz über sie aus, hole sie wie Vögel des Himmels herunter, züchtige sie, wie es ihrer Gemeinde angekündigt worden ist.
Whithersoever they go, I will spread over them my net, like a bird of the heavens, will I bring them down, I will chastise them, by the time the report can reach the flock of them.
13 Wehe ihnen, daß sie von mir gewichen sind! Verderben über sie, daß sie treulos von mir abgefallen sind! Und ich sollte sie erlösen, da sie doch Lügen gegen mich reden
Woe to them! for they have taken flight from me, destruction to them! for they have transgressed against me, —when, I, would have ransomed them, then, they, spake—concerning me—falsehoods.
14 und nicht von Herzen zu mir schreien, wenn sie auf ihren Lagern heulen? Um Getreide und Most ritzen sie sich blutig und verlassen mich treulos,
Neither made they outcry unto me, in their heart, although they kept on howling upon their beds, over corn and new wine, they gathered themselves together, they rebelled against me.
15 obwohl doch ich ihre Arme geübt und stark gemacht habe; aber gegen mich sind sie feindlich gesinnt.
When, I, had warned them, I strengthened their arm, —yet, against me, kept they on devising wickedness.
16 Sie wenden sich zum Baal hin, sie sind wie ein Bogen mit schlaffer Sehne geworden. Ihre Fürsten sollen durchs Schwert fallen wegen des Trotzes ihrer Zunge: das wird Hohnlachen über sie hervorrufen im Lande Ägypten!«
They would return—not to him who is on high! They have become like a deceitful bow, their rulers, shall fall by the sword, for the rage of their tongue, this, [shall be] their derision in the land of Egypt.
