1 Mose 22
1 Nach diesen Begebenheiten wollte Gott den Abraham auf die Probe stellen und sagte zu ihm: »Abraham!« Dieser antwortete: »Hier bin ich!«
And it cometh to pass after these things that God hath tried Abraham, and saith unto him, 'Abraham;' and he saith, 'Here [am] I.'
2 Da sagte Gott: »Nimm Isaak, deinen Sohn, deinen einzigen, den du liebhast, und begib dich (mit ihm) in die Landschaft Morija und bringe ihn dort als Brandopfer dar auf einem der Berge, den ich dir angeben werde!«
And He saith, 'Take, I pray thee, thy son, thine only one, whom thou hast loved, even Isaac, and go for thyself unto the land of Moriah, and cause him to ascend there for a burnt-offering on one of the mountains of which I speak unto thee.'
3 Da sattelte Abraham am andern Morgen früh seinen Esel und nahm zwei von seinen Knechten und seinen Sohn Isaak mit sich; er spaltete Holzscheite für das Brandopfer und machte sich dann auf den Weg nach dem Orte, den Gott ihm angegeben hatte.
And Abraham riseth early in the morning, and saddleth his ass, and taketh two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and he cleaveth the wood of the burnt-offering, and riseth and goeth unto the place of which God hath spoken to him.
4 Als er am dritten Tage die Augen aufschlug, sah er den Ort in der Ferne liegen.
On the third day — Abraham lifteth up his eyes, and seeth the place from afar;
5 Da sagte Abraham zu seinen Knechten: »Bleibt ihr für euch hier mit dem Esel; ich aber und der Knabe wollen dorthin gehen und anbeten; dann kommen wir wieder zu euch zurück.«
and Abraham saith unto his young men, 'Remain by yourselves here with the ass, and I and the youth go yonder and worship, and turn back unto you.'
6 Hierauf nahm Abraham das Holz für das Brandopfer und belud seinen Sohn Isaak damit; er selbst aber nahm das Feuer und das Schlachtmesser in die Hand, und so gingen die beiden zusammen weiter.
And Abraham taketh the wood of the burnt-offering, and placeth on Isaac his son, and he taketh in his hand the fire, and the knife; and they go on both of them together.
7 Da sagte Isaak zu seinem Vater Abraham: »Mein Vater!« Abraham antwortete: »Was willst du, mein Sohn?« Da sagte er: »Wir haben hier wohl Feuer und Holz; aber wo ist das Schaf für das Brandopfer?«
And Isaac speaketh unto Abraham his father, and saith, 'My father,' and he saith, 'Here [am] I, my son.' And he saith, 'Lo, the fire and the wood, and where the lamb for a burnt-offering?'
8 Abraham erwiderte: »Gott wird schon für ein Schaf zum Brandopfer sorgen, mein Sohn.« So gingen die beiden zusammen weiter.
and Abraham saith, 'God doth provide for Himself the lamb for a burnt-offering, my son;' and they go on both of them together.
9 Als sie nun an den Ort gekommen waren, den Gott ihm angegeben hatte, errichtete Abraham daselbst einen Altar und legte die Holzscheite auf ihm zurecht; dann band er seinen Sohn Isaak und legte ihn auf den Altar oben über die Scheite;
And they come in unto the place of which God hath spoken to him, and there Abraham buildeth the altar, and arrangeth the wood, and bindeth Isaac his son, and placeth him upon the altar above the wood;
10 darauf streckte er seine Hand aus und nahm das Messer, um seinen Sohn zu schlachten.
and Abraham putteth forth his hand, and taketh the knife — to slaughter his son.
11 Da rief ihm der Engel des HERRN vom Himmel her die Worte zu: »Abraham, Abraham!« Er antwortete: »Hier bin ich!«
And the messenger of Jehovah calleth unto him from the heavens, and saith, 'Abraham, Abraham;' and he saith, 'Here [am] I;'
12 Jener rief: »Lege deine Hand nicht an den Knaben und tu ihm nichts zuleide! Denn jetzt weiß ich, daß du gottesfürchtig bist, weil du mir deinen einzigen Sohn nicht vorenthalten hast.«
and He saith, 'Put not forth thine hand unto the youth, nor do anything to him, for now I have known that thou art fearing God, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only one, from Me.'
13 Als Abraham dann um sich blickte, sah er hinter sich einen Widder, der sich mit seinen Hörnern im Dickicht verfangen hatte. Da ging Abraham hin, holte den Widder und brachte ihn statt seines Sohnes als Brandopfer dar.
And Abraham lifteth up his eyes, and looketh, and lo, a ram behind, seized in a thicket by its horns; and Abraham goeth, and taketh the ram, and causeth it to ascend for a burnt-offering instead of his son;
14 Abraham nannte dann jenen Ort: »Der HERR sieht«; deshalb sagt man noch heutigentags: »Auf dem Berge, wo der HERR gesehen wird«.
and Abraham calleth the name of that place 'Jehovah-Jireh,' because it is said this day in the mount, 'Jehovah doth provide.'
15 Hierauf rief der Engel des HERRN dem Abraham zum zweitenmal vom Himmel her die Worte zu:
And the messenger of Jehovah calleth unto Abraham a second time from the heavens,
16 »Ich schwöre bei mir selbst« – so lautet der Ausspruch des HERRN –: »darum, daß du so gehandelt und mir deinen einzigen Sohn nicht vorenthalten hast,
and saith, 'By Myself I have sworn — the affirmation of Jehovah — that because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only one —
17 will ich dich reichlich segnen und deine Nachkommenschaft überaus zahlreich machen wie die Sterne am Himmel und wie den Sand am Gestade des Meeres; und deine Nachkommen sollen die Tore ihrer Feinde besitzen,
that blessing I bless thee, and multiplying I multiply thy seed as stars of the heavens, and as sand which [is] on the sea-shore; and thy seed doth possess the gate of his enemies;
18 und in deiner Nachkommenschaft sollen alle Völker der Erde gesegnet werden zum Lohn dafür, daß du meiner Aufforderung nachgekommen bist!«
and blessed themselves in thy seed have all nations of the earth, because that thou hast hearkened to My voice.'
19 Darauf kehrte Abraham zu seinen Knechten zurück; und sie machten sich auf den Weg und begaben sich miteinander nach Beerseba; dort nahm Abraham seinen dauernden Wohnsitz.
And Abraham turneth back unto his young men, and they rise and go together unto Beer-Sheba; and Abraham dwelleth in Beer-Sheba.
20 Nach diesen Begebenheiten wurde dem Abraham gemeldet: »Auch Milka hat deinem Bruder Nahor Söhne geboren,
And it cometh to pass after these things that it is declared to Abraham, saying, 'Lo, Milcah hath borne, even she, sons to Nahor thy brother:
21 nämlich seinen Erstgeborenen Uz und dessen Bruder Bus und Kemuel, den Vater von Aram,
Huz his first-born, and Buz his brother; and Kemuel father of Aram,
22 und Kesed sowie Haso, Pildas, Jidlaph und Bethuel.«
and Chesed, and Hazo, and Pildash, and Jidlaph, and Bethuel;
23 - Bethuel aber war der Vater der Rebekka. – Diese acht Söhne gebar Milka dem Nahor, dem Bruder Abrahams.
and Bethuel hath begotten Rebekah;' these eight hath Milcah borne to Nahor, Abraham's brother;
24 Auch sein Nebenweib namens Rehuma hatte Söhne geboren, nämlich Tebah und Gaham, Thahas und Maacha.
and his concubine, whose name [is] Reumah, she also hath borne Tebah, and Gaham, and Tahash, and Maachah.
