1 Mose 17

1 Als nun Abram neunundneunzig Jahre alt war, erschien ihm der HERR und sagte zu ihm: »Ich bin der allmächtige Gott: wandle vor mir und sei fromm!

Forsothe aftir that Abram bigan to be of nynti yeer and nyne, the Lord apperide to hym, and seide to him, Y am Almyyti God; go thou bifore me, and be thou perfit;

2 Ich will einen Bund zwischen mir und dir stiften und dich überaus zahlreich werden lassen.«

and Y schal sette my couenaunt of pees bitwixe me and thee; and Y schal multiplie thee ful greetli.

3 Da warf sich Abram auf sein Angesicht nieder; Gott aber redete weiter mit ihm so:

And Abram felde doun lowe on his face.

4 »Wisse wohl: mein Bund mit dir geht dahin, daß du der Stammvater einer Menge von Völkern werden sollst.

And God seide to hym, Y am, and my couenaunt of pees is with thee, and thou schalt be the fadir of many folkis;

5 Darum sollst du hinfort nicht mehr Abram heißen, sondern dein Name soll jetzt Abraham lauten; denn zum Stammvater einer Menge von Völkern habe ich dich bestimmt.

and thi name schal no more be clepid Abram, but thou schalt be clepid Abraham, for Y haue maad thee fadir of many folkis;

6 Ich will dich also überaus zahlreich werden lassen und dich zu (ganzen) Völkern machen; auch Könige sollen von dir abstammen.

and Y schal make thee to wexe ful greetli, and Y schal sette thee in folkis, and kyngis schulen go out of thee;

7 Und ich will meinen Bund errichten zwischen mir und dir und deinen Nachkommen nach dir, Geschlecht für Geschlecht, als einen ewigen Bund, um dein Gott zu sein und (der Gott) deiner Nachkommen nach dir.

and Y schal make my couenaunt bitwixe me and thee, and bitwixe thi seed after thee, in her generaciouns, bi euerlastynge bond of pees, that Y be thi God, and of thi seed after thee;

8 Und ich will dir und deinen Nachkommen nach dir das Land, in dem du (jetzt) als Fremdling weilst, nämlich das ganze Land Kanaan, zum ewigen Besitz geben und will ihr Gott sein.«

and Y schal yyue to thee and to thi seed after thee the lond of thi pilgrymage, al the lond of Chanaan, in to euerlastynge possessioun, and Y schal be the God of hem.

9 Weiter sagte Gott zu Abraham: »Was dich aber betrifft, so sollst du den Bund mit mir halten, du samt deinen Nachkommen nach dir, Geschlecht für Geschlecht!

God seide eft to Abraham, And therfor thou schalt kepe my couenaunt, and thi seed after thee, in her generaciouns.

10 Dies aber ist mein Bund, den ihr halten sollt und der zwischen mir und euch und deinen Nachkommen nach dir besteht: Alles Männliche soll bei euch beschnitten werden!

This is my couenaunt, which ye schulen kepe bitwixe me and you, and thi seed after thee; ech male kynde of you schal be circumcidid,

11 Und zwar sollt ihr am Fleisch eurer Vorhaut beschnitten werden: das soll das Zeichen des Bundes zwischen mir und euch sein!

and ye schulen circumside the fleisch of youre mannes yeerd, that it be in to a signe of boond of pees bytwixe me and you.

12 Jedes Knäblein soll im Alter von acht Tagen bei euch die Beschneidung empfangen, Geschlecht für Geschlecht, auch der im Hause geborene, sowie der für Geld von irgendeinem Fremden gekaufte Knecht, mag er auch nicht zu deiner Nachkommenschaft gehören.

A yong child of eiyte daies schal be circumsidid in you, al male kynde in youre generaciouns, as wel a borun seruaunt as a seruaunt bouyt schal be circumsidid, and who euere is of youre kynrede he schal be circumsidid;

13 Ja, beschnitten soll werden sowohl der in deinem Hause geborene als auch der für Geld von dir gekaufte Knecht: darin soll mein Bundeszeichen an eurem Leibe bestehen als ein ewiges Bundeszeichen!

and my couenaunt schal be in youre fleisch in to euerlastynge boond of pees.

14 Ein unbeschnittener Männlicher aber, der am Fleisch seiner Vorhaut nicht beschnitten worden ist – ein solcher Mensch soll aus seinen Volksgenossen ausgerottet werden: meinen Bund hat er gebrochen!«

A man whos fleisch of his yerde schal not be circumsidid, thilke man schal be doon a wei fro his puple; for he made voide my couenaunt.

15 Weiter sprach Gott zu Abraham: »Deine Frau Sarai sollst du nicht mehr Sarai nennen, sondern Sara soll ihr Name sein.

Also God seide to Abraham, Thou schalt not clepe Saray, thi wijf, Sarai, but Sara;

16 Denn ich will sie segnen und dir auch von ihr einen Sohn geben; ja ich will sie segnen, daß sie zu (ganzen) Völkern werden soll; sogar Könige von Völkerschaften sollen von ihr abstammen.«

and Y schal blesse hir, and of hir I schal yyue to thee a sone, whom I schal blesse, and he schal be in to naciouns, and kyngis of puplis schulen be borun of hym.

17 Da warf sich Abraham auf sein Angesicht nieder und lachte; denn er dachte bei sich: »Einem Hundertjährigen soll noch (ein Sohn) geboren werden? Und die neunzigjährige Sara soll noch Mutter werden?«

Abraham felde doun on his face, and leiyede in his hert, and seide, Gessist thou, whethir a sone schal be borun to a man of an hundrid yeer, and Sara of nynti yeer schal bere child?

18 So sagte denn Abraham zu Gott: »Ach möchte nur Ismael vor dir am Leben bleiben!«

And he seide to the Lord, Y wolde that Ismael lyue bifore thee.

19 Doch Gott antwortete: »Ganz gewiß wird deine Frau Sara dir einen Sohn gebären, den du Isaak nennen sollst; und ich will meinen Bund mit ihm aufrichten als einen ewigen Bund für seine Nachkommen nach ihm.

And the Lord seide to Abraham, Sara, thi wijf, schal bere a sone to thee, and thou schalt clepe his name Ysaac, and Y schal make my couenaunt to hym in to euerlastynge boond of pees, and to his seed aftir hym;

20 Aber auch in betreff Ismaels habe ich dich erhört; wisse wohl: ich will ihn segnen und fruchtbar werden lassen und ihm eine überaus zahlreiche Nachkommenschaft verleihen: zwölf Fürsten soll er zu Nachkommen haben, und zu einem großen Volke will ich ihn machen.

also on Ysmael Y haue herd thee, lo! Y schal blesse him, and Y schal encreesse, and Y schal multiplie him greetli; he schal gendre twelue dukis, and Y schal make hym in to a greet folk.

21 Jedoch meinen Bund will ich mit Isaak aufrichten, der dir von Sara übers Jahr um diese Zeit geboren werden soll.«

Forsothe Y schal make my couenaunt to Ysaac, whom Sare schal childe to thee in this tyme in the tother yeer.

22 Als Gott nun seine Unterredung mit Abraham beendet hatte, fuhr er (zum Himmel) empor von Abraham weg.

And whanne the word of the spekere with hym was endid, God stiede fro Abraham.

23 Darauf nahm Abraham seinen Sohn Ismael und alle in seinem Hause geborenen Knechte sowie alle für Geld von ihm gekauften Knechte, alle männlichen Personen unter den Leuten in seinem Hause, und vollzog die Beschneidung an ihnen noch an eben diesem Tage, wie Gott es ihm geboten hatte.

Forsothe Abraham took Ismael, his sone, and alle the borun seruauntis of his hous, and alle which he hadde bouyte, alle the malis of alle men of his hous, and circumsidide the fleisch of her yerde, anoon in that dai, as the Lord comaundide him.

24 Abraham war aber neunundneunzig Jahre alt, als er vorschriftsgemäß beschnitten wurde,

Abraham was of nynti yeer and nyne whanne he circumsidide the fleisch of his yeerd,

25 und sein Sohn Ismael war dreizehn Jahre alt, als man ihn vorschriftsgemäß beschnitt.

and Ismael, his sone, hadde fillid threttene yeer in the tyme of his circumsicioun.

26 An einem und demselben Tage wurden Abraham und sein Sohn Ismael beschnitten;

Abraham was circumsidid in the same day, and Ismael his sone,

27 und mit ihm wurden alle männlichen Personen in seinem hause beschnitten, sowohl die im Hause geborenen als auch die für Geld von Fremden gekauften Knechte.

and alle men of his hows, as wel borun seruauntis as bouyt and aliens, weren circumcidid togidre.
