1 Mose 13

1 So zog denn Abram mit seiner Frau und mit all seinem Hab und Gut aus Ägypten wieder hinauf nach dem Südgau; auch Lot war bei ihm.

Than Abram departed out of Egipte both he and his wyfe and all that he had and Lot wyth hym vnto the south.

2 Abram war aber sehr reich an Herden, an Silber und Gold;

Abram was very rych in catell syluer and gold.

3 und er zog weiter von einem Lagerplatz zum andern aus dem Südgau bis nach Bethel, bis an die Stätte, wo sein Zelt anfangs gestanden hatte, zwischen Bethel und Ai,

And he went on his iourney fro the south even vnto BETHEL ad vnto the place where his tente was at the fyrst tyme betwene BETHEL and Ay

4 zu der Stätte, wo der Altar stand, den er dort zuvor gebaut hatte; und Abram rief dort den Namen des HERRN an.

and vnto the place of the aulter which he made before. And there called Abram vpon the name of the LORde.

5 Aber auch Lot, der mit Abram zog, besaß Kleinvieh, Rinder und Zelte.

Lot also which went wyth hym had shepe catell and tentes:

6 So reichte denn das Land nicht aus, daß beide hätten beisammen bleiben können; denn ihr Hab und Gut war groß geworden; daher konnten sie nicht beieinander bleiben.

so that the londe was not abill to receaue them that they myght dwell together for the substance of their riches was so greate that they coude not dwell together

7 So entstand denn Streit zwischen den Hirten von Abrams Herden und den Hirten von Lots Vieh; es waren nämlich die Kanaanäer und Pherissiter damals im Lande ansässig.

And there fell a stryfe betwene the herdmen of Abrams catell and the herdmen of Lots catell. Moreouer the Cananytes and the Pherysites dwelled at that tyme in the lande.

8 Da sagte Abram zu Lot: »Laß doch keine Streitigkeiten zwischen mir und dir und zwischen meinen und deinen Hirten herrschen: wir sind ja Brüder.

Than sayd Abram vnto Lot: let there be no stryfe I praye the betwene the and me and betwene my herdmen and thyne for we be brethren.

9 Steht dir nicht das ganze Land zur freien Verfügung? Trenne dich lieber von mir! Willst du nach der linken Seite, so gehe ich nach rechts, und willst du nach der rechten Seite, so gehe ich nach links.«

Ys not all the hole lande before the? Departe I praye the fro me. Yf thou wylt take the lefte hande I wyll take the right: Or yf thou take the right hande I wyll take the left.

10 Da hob Lot seine Augen auf und sah, daß die ganze Gegend am Jordan überall wohlbewässertes Land war – bevor nämlich der HERR Sodom und Gomorrha zerstört hatte –, wie der Garten Gottes, wie das Land Ägypten, bis nach Zoar hin.

And Lot lyft vp hys eyes and beheld all the contre aboute Iordane which was a plenteous contre of water every where before the LORde destroyed Sodoma and Gomorra. Even as the garden of the LORde and as the lande of Egipte tyll thou come to Zoar.

11 Da wählte Lot für sich die ganze Gegend am Jordan und zog ostwärts. So trennten sich beide voneinander:

Than Lot chose all the costes of Iordane ad toke hys iourney from the east. And so departed the one brother from the other.

12 Abram blieb im Lande Kanaan wohnen, während Lot sich in den Ortschaften der Jordanaue niederließ und mit seinen Zelten bis nach Sodom zog.

Abram dwelled in the lande of Canaan. And lot in the cytes of the playne and tented tyll he came to Sodome.

13 Die Einwohner von Sodom aber waren böse Leute und arge Sünder vor dem HERRN.

But the men of sodome were wyked and synned exceadyngly agenst the LORde.

14 Der HERR aber sagte zu Abram, nachdem Lot sich von ihm getrennt hatte: »Hebe deine Augen auf und schaue von der Stelle, auf der du stehst, nach Norden und Süden, nach Osten und Westen:

And the LORde sayed vnto Abram after that Lot was departed from hym: lyfte vp thyne eyes and loke from ye place where thou art northward southward eastward and westward

15 denn das ganze Land, das du siehst, will ich dir und deinen Nachkommen auf ewige Zeiten geben

for all the lande which thou seiste wyll I gyue vnto the and to thy seed for ever.

16 und will deine Nachkommenschaft so zahlreich werden lassen wie den Staub der Erde, so daß, wenn jemand den Staub der Erde zu zählen vermöchte, auch deine Nachkommenschaft zählbar sein sollte.

And I wyll make thy seed as the dust of the erth: so that yf a ma can nombre the dust of the erth than shall thy seed also be nombred.

17 Wohlan, durchziehe das Land nach seiner Länge und Breite, denn dir will ich es geben!«

Aryse and walke aboute in the lande in the length of it ad in the bredth for I wyll geue it vnto the.

18 Da zog Abram mit seinen Zelten weiter und nahm (endlich) seinen Wohnsitz unter den Terebinthen Mamres, die bei Hebron stehen; dort baute er dem HERRN einen Altar.

Than Abra toke downe hys tente and went and dwelled in the okegrove of Mamre which is in Ebron and buylded there an altar to the LORde.
