Amos 1
1 (Dies sind) die Worte, welche Amos, einer von den Herdenbesitzern von Thekoa, über Israel geschaut hat zur Zeit des judäischen Königs Ussia und zur Zeit des israelitischen Königs Jerobeam, des Sohnes des Joas, zwei Jahre vor dem Erdbeben.
[the] words of Amos who he was among the sheep-tenders from Tekoa which he saw on Israel in [the] days of - (Uzziah *L(abh)*) [the] king of Judah and in [the] days of Jeroboam [the] son of Joash [the] king of Israel two years before the earthquake.
2 Es lauteten aber seine Worte so: »Wenn der HERR vom Zion her brüllt und aus Jerusalem seine Stimme erschallen läßt, da trauern die Auen der Hirten, und der Gipfel des Karmels verdorrt.«
And he said - Yahweh (from Zion *L(abh)*) he will roar and from Jerusalem he will give forth voice his and they will dry up [the] pastures of the shepherds and it will wither [the] top of Carmel.
3 So hat der HERR gesprochen: »Wegen der drei, ja vier Freveltaten von Damaskus mache ich es nicht rückgängig! Weil sie Gilead mit eisenschneidigen Dreschwalzen gedroschen haben,
Thus he says Yahweh on three transgressions of Damascus and on four not I will revoke it because threshed they with [the] threshing sledges of iron Gilead.
4 will ich Feuer in das Haus Hasaels schleudern: das soll die Paläste Ben-Hadads verzehren.
And I will send forth a fire on [the] house of Hazael and it will consume [the] fortresses of Ben Hadad.
5 Und ich will den Riegel von Damaskus zerbrechen und die Bewohner ausrotten aus Bikath-Awen und den Zepterträger aus Beth-Eden; und das Syrervolk soll nach Kir zurückwandern« – der HERR hat es ausgesprochen.
And I will break [the] bar of Damascus and I will cut off inhabitant[s] from [the] Valley of Aven and a holder of a scepter from Beth Eden and they will go into exile [the] people of Aram Kir towards he says Yahweh.
6 So hat der HERR gesprochen: »Wegen der drei, ja vier Freveltaten von Gaza mache ich es nicht rückgängig! Weil sie Gefangene, ganze Ortschaften weggeschleppt haben, um sie als Sklaven an die Edomiter auszuliefern,
Thus he says Yahweh on three transgressions of Gaza and on four not I will revoke it because carried away into exile they exile complete to deliver up [them] to Edom.
7 will ich Feuer an die Ringmauer von Gaza schleudern: das soll die Paläste der Stadt verzehren;
And I will send forth a fire on [the] wall of Gaza and it will consume fortresses its.
8 auch will ich die Bewohner aus Asdod ausrotten und den Zepterträger auch aus Askalon, und ich will meine Hand gegen Ekron wenden, daß auch der letzte Rest der Philister umkommen soll« – Gott der HERR hat es ausgesprochen.
And I will cut off inhabitant[s] from Ashdod and a holder of a scepter from Ashkelon and I will turn hand my on Ekron and they will perish [the] remnant of [the] Philistines he says [the] Lord Yahweh.
9 So hat der HERR gesprochen: »Wegen der drei, ja vier Freveltaten von Tyrus mache ich es nicht rückgängig! Weil sie Gefangene, ganze Ortschaften, an die Edomiter ausgeliefert haben, ohne des Bruderbundes zu gedenken,
Thus he says Yahweh on three transgressions of Tyre and on four not I will revoke it because delivered up they exile complete to Edom and not they remembered [the] covenant of brothers.
10 will ich Feuer an die Ringmauer von Tyrus schleudern: das soll die Paläste der Stadt verzehren.«

11 So hat der HERR gesprochen: »Wegen der drei, ja vier Freveltaten der Edomiter mache ich es nicht rückgängig! Weil sie ihr Brudervolk mit dem Schwerte verfolgt und ihr Mitgefühl erstickt haben, weil sie ihrem Zorn immerfort freien Lauf gelassen und an ihrem Ingrimm beständig festgehalten haben,
Thus he says Yahweh on three transgressions of Edom and on four not I will revoke it because pursued he with the sword brother his and he spoiled compassion his and it tore for ever anger his and fury his he kept it perpetuity.
12 will ich Feuer gegen Theman schleudern: das soll die Paläste von Bozra verzehren.«
And I will send forth a fire on Teman and it will consume [the] fortresses of Bozrah.
13 So hat der HERR gesprochen: »Wegen der drei, ja vier Freveltaten der Ammoniter mache ich es nicht rückgängig! Weil sie die schwangeren Frauen in Gilead aufgeschlitzt haben, um ihr Gebiet zu erweitern,
Thus he says Yahweh on three transgressions of [the] people of Ammon and on four not I will revoke it because ripped open they [the] pregnant [women] of Gilead so as to enlarge territory their.
14 will ich Feuer an die Ringmauer von Rabba anlegen: das soll die Paläste der Stadt verzehren unter Kriegsgeschrei am Tage der Schlacht, beim Sturm am Tage des Unwetters;
And I will kindle a fire on [the] wall of Rabbah and it will consume fortresses its with a shout of alarm on [the] day of battle with a storm on [the] day of (a storm-wind *L(abh)*)
15 und ihr König soll in die Verbannung wandern, er mitsamt seinen Fürsten« – der HERR hat es ausgesprochen.
and he will go king their in exile he and officials his together he says Yahweh.
