2 Samuel 15

1 Danach begab es sich, daß Absalom sich Wagen und Pferde anschaffte, dazu fünfzig Mann, die als Leibdiener vor ihm herliefen.

And it was from after thus and he acquired for himself Absalom a chariot and horses and fifty man [who] ran before him.

2 Auch pflegte Absalom sich alle Morgen früh neben dem Wege nach dem Ratstor aufzustellen; wenn dann jemand einen Rechtsstreit hatte und den König um Entscheidung angehen wollte, rief Absalom ihn an und fragte ihn: »Aus welcher Ortschaft bist du?« Wenn jener dann antwortete: »Dein Knecht kommt aus dem und dem Stamme Israels«,

And he rose early Absalom and he stood at [the] side of [the] road of the gate and it was every person whom it belonged to him a case at law to come to the king for judgment and he called out Absalom to him and he said where? from this city [are] you and he said [is] from one of [the] tribes of Israel servant your.

3 so sagte Absalom zu ihm: »Deine Sache ist allerdings gut und in Ordnung, aber beim König ist niemand, der dir Gehör schenkt!«

And he said to him Absalom see matter your [are] good and right and [one who] hears not [belongs] to you from with the king.

4 Dann fuhr Absalom fort: »Wenn man mich doch zum Richter im Lande bestellte, daß jeder, der eine Streitsache und einen Rechtshandel hat, zu mir käme: ich wollte ihm schon zu seinem Recht verhelfen!«

And he said Absalom who? will he make me a judge in the land and to me he will come every person whom it belongs to him a case at law and a judgment and I will do justice him.

5 Und wenn jemand an ihn herantrat, um sich vor ihm huldigend zu verneigen, so streckte er seine Hand aus, umarmte ihn und küßte ihn.

And it was when drew near anyone to bow down to him and he stretched out hand his and he took hold of him and he kissed him.

6 So machte es Absalom mit allen Israeliten, die zum König kamen, um sich Recht sprechen zu lassen; und so stahl Absalom sich die Herzen der Israeliten.

And he did Absalom according to the manner this to all Israel who they came for judgment to the king and he stole Absalom [the] heart of [the] men of Israel.

7 Nach Verlauf von vier Jahren aber sagte Absalom zum König: »Ich möchte gern hingehen und in Hebron mein Gelübde einlösen, das ich dem HERRN dargebracht habe.

And it was from [the] end of forty year[s] and he said Absalom to the king let me go please so I may pay vow my which I vowed to Yahweh in Hebron.

8 Denn als ich mich zu Gesur in Syrien aufhielt, hat dein Knecht folgendes Gelübde getan: ›Wenn der HERR mich nach Jerusalem zurückkehren läßt, so will ich dem HERRN ein Dankopfer darbringen.‹«

For a vow he vowed servant your when dwelt I at Geshur in Aram saying if (certainly *Q(K)*) he will bring back me Yahweh Jerusalem and I will serve Yahweh (in Hebron. *X*)

9 Der König antwortete ihm: »Gehe hin in Frieden!« So machte Absalom sich denn auf den Weg und ging nach Hebron.

And he said to him the king go in peace and he arose and he went Hebron towards.

10 Er hatte aber heimlich Boten durch alle Stämme der Israeliten gesandt und sagen lassen: »Sobald ihr Posaunenschall hört, so ruft aus: ›Absalom ist in Hebron König geworden!‹«

And he sent Absalom spies in all [the] tribes of Israel saying when hear you [the] sound of the ram's horn and you will say he has become king Absalom in Hebron.

11 Mit Absalom gingen aber auch zweihundert Männer aus Jerusalem nach Hebron, die von ihm zum Opferfest eingeladen waren und arglos mitgingen, ohne von irgend etwas zu wissen.

And with Absalom they went two hundred man from Jerusalem [those who] were invited and [those who] were going to innocence their and not they knew any thing.

12 Außerdem ließ Absalom, als das Opferfest schon im Gange war, den Giloniten Ahithophel, den Ratgeber Davids, aus seinem Wohnort Gilo holen. So gewann die Verschwörung immer weitere Verbreitung, und immer mehr Leute schlossen sich an Absalom an.

And he sent Absalom Ahithophel the Gilonite [the] counselor of David from city his from Giloh when sacrificed he the sacrifices and it was the conspiracy strong and the people [was] going and numerous with Absalom.

13 Als nun ein Bote bei David eintraf mit der Meldung: »Das Herz der Israeliten hat sich Absalom zugewandt«,

And he came the messenger to David saying it is [the] heart of [the] man of Israel after Absalom.

14 da befahl David allen seinen Dienern, die in Jerusalem bei ihm waren: »Auf! Wir müssen fliehen! Sonst gibt es für uns keine Rettung vor Absalom! Macht euch eilends auf den Weg, damit er uns nicht zuvorkommt und das Unheil über uns bringt und ein Blutbad in der Stadt anrichtet!«

And he said David to all servants his who [were] with him in Jerusalem arise so let us flee for not it will belong to us an escape from before Absalom hurry to go lest he should hurry and he will overtake us and he will thrust on us calamity and he will strike the city to [the] mouth of [the] sword.

15 Die Diener des Königs antworteten ihm: »Ganz wie unser königlicher Herr es für gut befindet: wir sind deine gehorsamen Diener!«

And they said [the] servants of the king to the king according to all that he will choose lord my the king here! [are] servants your.

16 So zog denn der König aus, und sein ganzer Hof befand sich in seinem Gefolge; nur zehn Kebsweiber ließ der König zurück, um das Haus zu hüten.

And he went out the king and all household his at feet his and he left the king ten women concubines to keep the house.

17 Als so der König auszog und das ganze Volk ihm auf dem Fuße folgte, machte er beim letzten Hause halt,

And he went out the king and all the people at feet his and they stood [the] house of the distance.

18 während alle seine Diener neben ihm standen und seine gesamte Leibwache und alle Leute des Gathiters (Itthai), sechshundert Mann, die ihm von Gath her gefolgt waren, an dem Könige vorüberzogen.

And all servants his [were] passing by at side his and all the Kerethite[s] and all the Pelethite[s] and all the Gittites six hundred man who they had come at foot his from Gath [were] passing by at [the] face of the king.

19 Da sagte der König zu Itthai aus Gath: »Warum willst auch du mit uns ziehen? Kehre um und bleibe beim König (Absalom)! Du bist ja ein Ausländer und noch dazu aus deiner Heimat verbannt.

And he said the king to Ittai the Gittite why? will you go also you with us return and dwell with the king for [are] a foreigner you and also [are] an exile you to place your.

20 Erst gestern bist du hergekommen, und heute soll ich dich schon mit uns auf die Irrfahrt nehmen, ohne selbst zu wissen, wohin ich gehe? Kehre um und nimm deine Landsleute mit dir zurück! Der HERR möge dir Güte und Treue erweisen!«

[was] yesterday - Coming you and this day (will I make wander? you *Q(K)*) with us to go and I [am] going to where I [am] going return and take back brothers your [be] with you covenant loyalty and truth.

21 Itthai aber erwiderte dem König: »So wahr der HERR lebt, und so wahr mein Herr und König lebt, nein! An dem Orte, an dem mein Herr und König sein wird, es gehe zum Tode oder zum Leben, da wird auch dein Knecht zu finden sein!«

And he answered Ittai the king and he said [by] [the] life of Yahweh and [by] [the] life of lord my the king that except in [the] place where he will be there - lord my the king whether for death or for life for there he will be servant your.

22 Da sagte David zu Itthai: »Gut denn, so ziehe vorüber!« Da zog Itthai aus Gath vorüber mit all seinen Leuten und dem ganzen Troß (von Kindern und Frauen), der bei ihm war.

And he said David to Ittai come and pass on and he passed on Ittai the Gittite and all men his and all the little one[s] who [were] with him.

23 Die ganze Bevölkerung aber weinte laut, während das gesamte Kriegsvolk vorüberzog. Hierauf ging der König über den Bach Kidron, und auch das gesamte Volk zog hinüber in der Richtung nach der Wüste (Juda) hin.

And all the land [were] weeping a voice great and all the people [were] passing by and the king [was] passing in [the] wadi of Kidron and all the people [were] passing on on [the] face of [the] road the wilderness.

24 Da erschienen auch Zadok (und Abjathar) mit allen Leviten, die trugen die Bundeslade Gottes; sie setzten die Lade Gottes dort nieder, und Abjathar brachte Opfer dar, bis alles Volk aus der Stadt vollständig vorübergezogen war.

And there! also Zadok and all the Levites with him [were] carrying [the] ark of [the] covenant of God and they set down [the] ark of God and he went up Abiathar until was finished all the people to pass out from the city.

25 Darauf sagte der König zu Zadok: »Bringe die Lade Gottes in die Stadt zurück! Finde ich Gnade in den Augen des HERRN, so wird er mich zurückführen und mich die Lade und seine Wohnung wiedersehen lassen.

And he said the king to Zadok take back [the] ark of God the city if I will find favor in [the] eyes of Yahweh and he will bring back me and he will show me it and habitation his.

26 Spricht er aber so zu mir: ›Ich habe kein Gefallen an dir‹ – nun, hier bin ich! Er tue mir, wie es ihm wohlgefällt!«

And if thus he will say not I delight in you here [am] I let him do to me just as it is good in view his.

27 Dann sagte der König weiter zum Priester Zadok: »Du und Abjathar, kehrt ihr ruhig in die Stadt zurück und mit euch eure beiden Söhne, Ahimaaz, dein Sohn, und Jonathan, der Sohn Abjathars.

And he said the king to Zadok the priest ¿ a seer [are] you return! the city in peace and Ahimaaz son your and Jonathan [the] son of Abiathar [the] two sons your with you.

28 Gebt wohl acht! Ich will in den Niederungen der Wüste verweilen, bis eine Botschaft von euch kommt und mir Nachricht gibt.«

See I [will] delay (in [the] desert plains of *Q(K)*) the wilderness until comes word from with you to tell to me.

29 So brachten denn Zadok und Abjathar die Lade Gottes nach Jerusalem zurück und blieben dort.

And he took back Zadok and Abiathar [the] ark of God Jerusalem and they remained there.

30 David aber stieg die Anhöhe am Ölberg hinan, im Gehen weinend und mit verhülltem Haupt, und er ging barfuß; auch alles Volk, das ihn begleitete, hatte ein jeder das Haupt verhüllt und stieg unter fortwährendem Weinen den Berg hinan.

And David [was] going up on [the] ascent of the olive trees going up - and weeping and head of him [was] covered and he [was] walking barefoot and all the people which [was] with him they covered each head his and they went up continuously and wept.

31 Als man nun David meldete, daß auch Ahithophel unter den Verschworenen bei Absalom sei, rief David aus: »O HERR, mache doch die Ratschläge Ahithophels zur Torheit!«

And David someone told saying Ahithophel [is] among the conspirators with Absalom and he said David make foolish please [the] counsel of Ahithophel O Yahweh.

32 Als David dann auf der Höhe angelangt war, wo man Gott anzubeten pflegt, kam ihm plötzlich der Arkiter Husai mit zerrissenem Gewand und mit Erde auf dem Haupt entgegen.

And he was David coming to the top where he bowed down there to God and there! to meet him Hushai the Arkite [was] torn tunic his and earth [was] on head his.

33 David sagte zu ihm: »Wenn du mit mir weiter zögest, würdest du mir nur zur Last fallen;

And he said to him David if you pass over with me and you will become on me a burden.

34 wenn du aber in die Stadt zurückkehrst und zu Absalom sagst: ›O König, ich will dein Diener sein! Wie ich bisher deines Vaters Diener gewesen bin, so will ich jetzt dein Diener sein!‹ – so könntest du mir die Ratschläge Ahithophels vereiteln.

And if the city you will return and you will say to Absalom servant your I O king I will be [was] [the] servant of father your I from then and now I [will be] servant your and you will frustrate for me [the] counsel of Ahithophel.

35 Dort sind ja auch die Priester Zadok und Abjathar bei dir; teile also alles, was du aus dem Hause des Königs erfährst, sofort den Priestern Zadok und Abjathar mit!

And ¿ not with you there [are] Zadok and Abiathar the priests and it will be every word which you will hear from [the] house of the king you will tell to Zadok and to Abiathar the priests.

36 Sie haben dort ihre beiden Söhne bei sich, Zadok den Ahimaaz und Abjathar den Jonathan; durch diese laßt mir Nachricht von allem zukommen, was ihr in Erfahrung bringt.«

There! there [are] with them [the] two sons their Ahimaaz of Zadok and Jonathan of Abiathar and you will send by hand their to me every word which you will hear.

37 So begab sich denn Davids vertrauter Freund Husai nach Jerusalem zurück, als Absalom gerade in die Stadt einzog.

And he came Hushai [the] friend of David the city and Absalom he came Jerusalem.
