2 Samuel 12
1 Hierauf sandte der HERR (den Propheten) Nathan zu David; als dieser zu ihm gekommen war, redete er so zu ihm: »Es lebten zwei Männer in derselben Stadt, ein reicher und ein armer.
And he sent Yahweh Nathan to David and he came to him and he said to him two men they were in a city one one [was] rich and one [was] poor.
2 Der Reiche besaß Kleinvieh und Rinder in großer Menge,
To [the] rich [man] it belonged flock[s] and herd[s] many very.
3 der Arme aber hatte gar nichts als ein einziges Lämmchen, das er sich gekauft und aufgezogen hatte und das bei ihm und zugleich mit seinen Kindern aufwuchs; es aß von seinem Bissen und trank aus seinem Becher, es schlief an seinem Busen und wurde von ihm wie eine Tochter gehalten.
And [belonged] to the poor [man] not anything that except a ewe-lamb one small which he had acquired and he nourished it and it grew up with him and with children his together from morsel his it ate and from cup his it drank and in bosom his it lay down and it was to him like a daughter.
4 Da kam eines Tages Besuch zu dem reichen Mann, und weil es ihm leid tat, ein Stück von seinem eigenen Kleinvieh oder von seinen Rindern zu nehmen, um es für den Besuch, der zu ihm gekommen war, als Mahl zuzubereiten, nahm er das Lämmchen des armen Mannes und richtete es für den Gast zu, der zu ihm gekommen war.«
And he came a traveler to [the] man rich and he spared to take one of own sheep his and one of own cattle his to prepare for the traveler who had come to him and he took [the] ewe-lamb of the man poor and he prepared it for the man who had come to him.
5 Da geriet David in heftigen Zorn gegen den Mann, so daß er zu Nathan sagte: »So wahr der HERR lebt: der Mann, der das getan hat, ist ein Kind des Todes!
And it burned [the] anger of David on the man exceedingly and he said to Nathan [by] [the] life of Yahweh for [is] a son of death the man who did this.
6 Und das Lamm soll er vierfach erstatten zur Strafe dafür, daß er so gehandelt und weil er kein Mitleid bewiesen hat!«
And the ewe-lamb he will restore fourfold consequence that he did the thing this and on that not he showed pity.
7 Da erwiderte Nathan dem David: »Du bist der Mann! So hat der HERR, der Gott Israels, gesprochen: ›Ich habe dich zum König über Israel gesalbt, und ich habe dich aus Sauls Händen errettet,
And he said Nathan to David you [are] the man thus he says Yahweh [the] God of Israel I I anointed you to king over Israel and I I delivered you from [the] hand of Saul.
8 ich habe dir das Haus deines Herrn gegeben und die Frauen deines Herrn dir in den Schoß gelegt (zur Verfügung gestellt); ich habe dir das Haus Israel und Juda übergeben, und wenn dir das noch zu wenig war, so hätte ich dir noch dies und das hinzugefügt.
And I gave! to you [the] house of master your and [the] wives of master your in bosom your and I gave! to you [the] house of Israel and Judah and if little and I will add to you like those and like those.
9 Warum hast du dich über das Gebot des HERRN hinweggesetzt und etwas getan, was ihm mißfällt? Den Hethiter Uria hast du mit dem Schwert erschlagen lassen und sein Weib dir zum Weibe genommen, nachdem du ihn selbst durch das Schwert der Ammoniter hast umbringen lassen.
Why? have you despised - [the] word of Yahweh by doing the evil (in eyes my *Q(K)*) Uriah the Hittite you struck down with the sword and wife his you took for yourself to a wife and him you killed with [the] sword of [the] people of Ammon.
10 So soll denn nun das Schwert aus deinem Hause niemals weichen zur Strafe dafür, daß du mich mißachtet und das Weib des Hethiters Uria dir zum Weibe genommen hast!‹
And therefore not it will depart [the] sword from house your until perpetuity consequence for you despised me and you took [the] wife of Uriah the Hittite to become of you a wife.
11 So hat der HERR gesprochen: ›Siehe, ich will Unheil über dich aus deinem eigenen Hause hervorgehen lassen und will dir deine Frauen vor deinen Augen wegnehmen und sie einem andern geben, daß er im Angesicht dieser Sonne deinen Frauen beiwohnen soll.
Thus - he says Yahweh here I [am] about to raise up on you calamity from own house your and I will take wives your to eyes your and I will give [them] to neighbor your and he will lie with wives your to [the] eyes of the sun this.
12 Denn du hast im geheimen gehandelt, ich aber will diese Drohung vor den Augen von ganz Israel und angesichts der Sonne zur Ausführung bringen!‹«
For you you acted in secret and I I will do the thing this before all Israel and before the sun.
13 Da sagte David zu Nathan: »Ich habe gegen den HERRN gesündigt!« Nathan antwortete dem David: »So hat auch der HERR dir deine Sünde vergeben: du selbst wirst nicht sterben!
And he said David to Nathan I have sinned to Yahweh. And he said Nathan to David also Yahweh he has taken away sin your not you will die.
14 Doch weil du den Feinden des HERRN durch diese Tat Anlaß zur Lästerung gegeben hast, so soll auch der Sohn, der dir geboren ist, unrettbar sterben!«
Nevertheless for indeed you have declared contemptible [the] enemies of Yahweh by the thing this also the son born to you certainly he will die.
15 Als Nathan hierauf nach Hause gegangen war, schlug der HERR das Kind, welches die Frau Urias dem David geboren hatte, so daß es todkrank wurde.
And he went Nathan to house his and he struck Yahweh the child whom she had borne [the] wife of Uriah to David and he was sick.
16 Da suchte David Gott um des Knaben willen (im Heiligtum) auf, und David fastete und brachte, als er heimgekommen war, die ganze Nacht hindurch auf dem Erdboden liegend zu.
And he sought David God for the lad and he fasted David a fast and he went and he passed [the] night and he lay (in the sackcloth *X*) [the] ground towards.
17 Obgleich nun die Ältesten seines Hauses zu ihm traten, um ihn zum Aufstehen von der Erde zu bewegen, weigerte er sich doch und speiste nicht mit ihnen.
And they stood [the] elders of house his with him to raise him from the ground and not he was willing and not he ate with them food.
18 Als das Kind dann am siebten Tage starb, trugen die Hofleute Davids Bedenken, ihm den Tod des Kindes anzuzeigen; denn sie dachten: »Solange das Kind noch am Leben war, hat er unsere Vorstellungen, wenn wir ihm zuredeten, unbeachtet gelassen: wie können wir ihm da jetzt den Tod des Kindes anzeigen? Es gäbe ein Unglück ab!«
And it was on the day seventh and he died the child and they were afraid [the] servants of David to tell to him - that he had died the child for they said here! when was the child alive we spoke to him and not he listened to voice our and how? will we say to him he has died the child and he will do harm.
19 Als David aber seine Hofleute miteinander flüstern sah und daran merkte, daß das Kind tot war, fragte er seine Hofleute: »Ist das Kind tot?« Sie antworteten ihm: »Ja, es ist tot.«
And he saw David that servants his [were] whispering to one another and he understood David that he had died the child and he said David to servants his ¿ has he died the child and they said he has died.
20 Da stand David vom Boden auf, wusch und salbte sich und legte die Trauerkleider ab; darauf ging er in das Haus des HERRN und warf sich nieder. Als er dann in sein Haus zurückgekehrt war, ließ er sich eine Mahlzeit auftragen und aß.
And he arose David from the ground and he bathed and he anointed himself and he changed (garments his *Q(K)*) and he went [the] house of Yahweh and he bowed down and he went to own house his and he asked and they set for him food and he ate.
21 Da sagten seine Hofleute zu ihm: »Wie unerklärlich ist dein Verhalten! Solange das Kind noch am Leben war, hast du um seinetwillen gefastet und geweint; und jetzt, da das Kind tot ist, stehst du auf und nimmst Nahrung zu dir.«
And they said servants his to him what? [is] the thing this which you have done for sake of the child [was] alive you fasted and you wept and just when he died the child you arose and you ate food.
22 Da antwortete er: »Solange das Kind noch lebte, habe ich gefastet und geweint, weil ich dachte: Wer weiß, vielleicht erbarmt der HERR sich meiner, daß das Kind am Leben bleibt?
And he said while still the child [was] alive I fasted and I wept for I said who? [is] knowing (and he will show favor to me *Q(K)*) Yahweh and he will live the child.
23 Nun es aber tot ist, wozu soll ich da fasten? Kann ich es etwa wieder ins Leben zurückrufen? Ich kann wohl zu ihm kommen, es aber kann nicht wieder zu mir zurückkehren.«
And now - he has died why? this [am] I fasting ¿ am I able to bring back him again I [am] going to him and he not he will return to me.
24 Nachdem David dann seiner Gattin Bathseba Trost zugesprochen und sich ihr wieder in Liebe zugewandt hatte, wurde sie Mutter eines Sohnes, den er Salomo nannte und den der HERR liebhatte.
And he comforted David Bath-sheba wife his and he went into her and he lay with her and she bore a son (and she called *Q(K)*) name his Solomon and Yahweh he loved him.
25 David übergab ihn der Fürsorge des Propheten Nathan, der ihm den Namen Jedidjah gab, um des HERRN willen.
And he sent by [the] hand of Nathan the prophet and he called name his Jedidiah for sake of Yahweh.
26 Joab aber bestürmte unterdessen Rabba, die Hauptstadt der Ammoniter, und eroberte die Königsstadt.
And he fought Joab against Rabbah of [the] people of Ammon and he captured [the] city of royalty.
27 Hierauf sandte er Boten an David und ließ ihm sagen: »Ich habe Rabba bestürmt und die Wasserstadt auch erobert;
And he sent Joab messengers to David and he said I have fought against Rabbah also I have captured [the] city of the waters.
28 so biete jetzt nun den Rest des Kriegsvolkes auf, belagere die Stadt und erobere sie, damit nicht ich die Stadt einnehme und dann mein Name über ihr ausgerufen wird.«
And therefore gather [the] rest of the people and encamp on the city and capture it lest I should take I the city and it will be called name my on it.
29 Da bot David seine ganze Heeresmacht auf, zog gegen Rabba, bestürmte die Stadt und eroberte sie.
And he gathered David all the people and he went Rabbah towards and he fought against it and he captured it.
30 Er nahm dann ihrem Götzen Milkom die Krone vom Haupt, die ein Talent Gold wog und mit einem kostbaren Edelstein besetzt war; der kam nunmehr an Davids Haupt. Und er führte aus der Stadt eine überaus reiche Beute weg.
And he took [the] crown of king their from on head his and weight its [was] a talent of gold and a stone precious and it was on [the] head of David and [the] plunder of the city he brought out much very.
31 Die Bevölkerung, die sich dort vorfand, ließ er wegführen und stellte sie als Fronarbeiter an bei den Sägen, bei den eisernen Picken und den eisernen Äxten und ließ sie an den Ziegelöfen arbeiten; ebenso verfuhr er mit allen übrigen Städten der Ammoniter. Dann kehrte David mit dem gesamten Heere nach Jerusalem zurück.
And the people which [was] in it he brought out and he set [them] at the saws and at [the] picks of iron and at [the] axes of iron and he caused to pass them (in the brick mold[s] *Q(K)*) and thus he did to all [the] cities of [the] people of Ammon and he returned David and all the people Jerusalem.
