1 Während seiner Regierung kam Nebukadnezar, der König von Babylon, herangezogen, und Jojakim wurde ihm drei Jahre lang untertan, fiel dann aber wieder von ihm ab.

In his days hath Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon come up, and Jehoiakim is to him a servant three years; and he turneth and rebelleth against him,

2 Da ließ Gott der HERR die Kriegsscharen der Chaldäer und der Syrer sowie die Scharen der Moabiter und der Ammoniter gegen ihn heranziehen; die ließ er in Juda einfallen, um es zugrunde zu richten, gemäß der Drohung, die der HERR durch den Mund seiner Knechte, der Propheten, hatte aussprechen lassen.

and Jehovah sendeth against him the troops of the Chaldeans, and the troops of Aram, and the troops of Moab, and the troops of the sons of Ammon, and He sendeth them against Judah to destroy it, according to the word of Jehovah, that He spake by the hand of His servants the prophets;

3 Nur nach dem Ausspruch des HERRN ist dies Unheil über Juda hereingebrochen, damit er es sich aus den Augen schaffte wegen der Sünden Manasses, infolge alles dessen, was er verübt hatte;

only, by the command of Jehovah it hath been against Judah to turn [them] aside from His presence, for the sins of Manasseh, according to all that he did,

4 besonders auch das unschuldige Blut, das er vergossen hatte, so daß er Jerusalem mit unschuldigem Blut anfüllte, auch das wollte der HERR nicht vergeben.

and also the innocent blood that he hath shed, and he filleth Jerusalem with innocent blood, and Jehovah was not willing to forgive.

5 Die übrige Geschichte Jojakims aber und alles, was er unternommen hat, das findet sich bekanntlich aufgezeichnet im Buch der Denkwürdigkeiten der Könige von Juda.

And the rest of the matters of Jehoiakim, and all that he did, are they not written on the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Judah?

6 Als Jojakim sich dann zu seinen Vätern gelegt hatte, folgte ihm sein Sohn Jojachin als König in der Regierung nach.

And Jehoiakim lieth with his fathers, and Jehoiachin his son reigneth in his stead.

7 Der König von Ägypten aber unternahm fortan keinen Kriegszug mehr aus seinem Lande; denn der König von Babylon hatte alles in Besitz genommen, was dem König von Ägypten gehört hatte, vom Bach Ägyptens an bis zum Euphratstrom.

And the king of Egypt hath not added any more to go out from his own land, for the king of Babylon hath taken, from the brook of Egypt unto the river Phrat, all that had been to the king of Egypt.

8 Im Alter von achtzehn Jahren wurde Jojachin König und regierte drei Monate in Jerusalem; seine Mutter hieß Nehustha und war die Tochter Elnathans aus Jerusalem.

A son of eighteen years [is] Jehoiachin in his reigning, and three months he hath reigned in Jerusalem, and the name of his mother [is] Nehushta, daughter of Elnathan of Jerusalem,

9 Er tat, was dem HERRN mißfiel, ganz so wie sein Vater getan hatte.

and he doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, according to all that his fathers did.

10 Zu jener Zeit zogen die Heerführer Nebukadnezars, des Königs von Babylon, gegen Jerusalem heran, und die Stadt wurde eingeschlossen.

At that time come up have servants of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon to Jerusalem, and the city goeth into siege,

11 Als dann Nebukadnezar, der König von Babylon, selbst vor der Stadt ankam, während seine Heerführer sie belagerten,

and Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon cometh against the city, and his servants are laying siege to it,

12 ging Jojachin, der König von Juda, zum König von Babylon hinaus, er mit seiner Mutter, seinen Hofbeamten, seinen Heeresobersten und seinen Kämmerlingen, und der König von Babylon nahm ihn im achten Jahre seiner Regierung gefangen.

and Jehoiachin king of Judah goeth out unto the king of Babylon, he, and his mother, and his servants, and his chiefs, and his eunuchs, and the king of Babylon taketh him in the eighth year of his reign,

13 Er ließ dann alle Schätze des Tempels des HERRN und die Schätze des königlichen Palastes von dort wegbringen und brach den Metallbeschlag von allen goldenen Geräten ab, die Salomo, der König von Israel, für den Tempel des HERRN hatte anfertigen lassen: wie der HERR es angekündigt hatte.

and bringeth out thence all the treasures of the house of Jehovah, and the treasures of the house of the king, and cutteth in pieces all the vessels of gold that Solomon king of Israel made in the temple of Jehovah, as Jehovah had spoken.

14 Ganz Jerusalem aber führte er in die Gefangenschaft: alle hohen Beamten und alle kriegstüchtigen Männer, zehntausend Gefangene, dazu alle Schmiede und Schlosser: nichts blieb zurück außer der niederen Bevölkerung des Landes.

And he hath removed all Jerusalem, and all the chiefs, and all the mighty ones of valour — ten thousand [is] the removal — and every artificer and smith, none hath been left save the poor of the people of the land.

15 Auch Jojachin führte er nach Babylon in die Gefangenschaft, ebenso die Mutter des Königs und die königlichen Frauen; auch seine Kämmerlinge und die vornehmsten Männer des Landes führte er als Gefangene von Jerusalem weg nach Babylon;

And he removeth Jehoiachin to Babylon, and the mother of the king, and the wives of the king, and his eunuchs, and the mighty ones of the land — he hath caused a removal to go from Jerusalem to Babylon,

16 dazu alle kriegstüchtigen Männer, siebentausend an Zahl, ferner die Schmiede und Schlosser, tausend an Zahl, lauter kriegstüchtige, streitbare Männer; die brachte der König von Babylon als Gefangene nach Babylon.

and all the men of valour seven thousand, and the artificers and the smiths a thousand, the whole [are] mighty men, warriors; and the king of Babylon bringeth them in a captivity to Babylon.

17 Hierauf machte der König von Babylon Matthanja, den Oheim Jojachins, zum König an dessen Stelle und änderte seinen Namen in Zedekia ab.

And the king of Babylon causeth Mattaniah his father's brother to reign in his stead, and turneth his name to Zedekiah.

18 Im Alter von einundzwanzig Jahren kam Zedekia auf den Thron und regierte elf Jahre in Jerusalem; seine Mutter hieß Hamutal und war die Tochter Jeremias aus Libna.

A son of twenty and one years [is] Zedekiah in his reigning, and eleven years he hath reigned in Jerusalem, and the name of his mother [is] Hamutal daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah,

19 Er tat, was dem HERRN mißfiel, ganz wie Jojakim getan hatte.

and he doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah according to all that Jehoiakim did,

20 Denn infolge des Zornes des HERRN kam es mit Jerusalem und Juda dahin, daß der HERR sie von seinem Angesicht verstieß.

for, by the anger of Jehovah it hath been against Jerusalem and against Judah, till he cast them out from His presence, that Zedekiah rebelleth against the king of Babylon.
