2 Chronik 15
1 Da kam der Geist Gottes über Asarja, den Sohn Odeds,
Now, as for Azariah son of Oded, there came upon him, the spirit of God.
2 so daß er hinausging, vor Asa hintrat und zu ihm sagte: »Hört mich an, Asa und ihr Judäer und Benjaminiten alle! Der HERR ist mit euch, solange ihr euch zu ihm haltet, und wenn ihr ihn sucht, läßt er sich von euch finden, wenn ihr ihn aber verlaßt, wird auch er euch verlassen.
So he went forth to meet Asa, and said unto him, Hear me, O Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin, —Yahweh, is with you, so long as ye are with him, and, if ye seek him, he will be found of you, but, if ye forsake him, he will forsake you.
3 Lange Zeit ist Israel ohne den wahren Gott gewesen und ohne priesterliche Belehrung und ohne Gesetz;
Now, many days, had Israel been, —without the faithful God, and without a teaching priest, and without the law;
4 dann aber, in seiner Bedrängnis, kehrte es zum HERRN, dem Gott Israels, zurück, und da sie ihn suchten, ließ er sich von ihnen finden.
But they turned, in their distress, unto Yahweh God of Israel, —and sought him, and he was found of them.
5 Zu jenen Zeiten aber gab es keine Sicherheit für die Aus- und Eingehenden; denn beständige Unruhen herrschten bei allen Bewohnern der verschiedenen Landesteile:
And, in those times, there had been no prosperity, to him that went out nor to him that came in, —for, great consternations, were upon all the inhabitants of the lands;
6 ein Volk wurde von dem andern bedrängt und eine Stadt von der andern; denn Gott schreckte sie durch Leiden aller Art.
and they were beaten in pieces-nation against nation, and city against city, —for, God, discomfited them with all manner of distress.
7 Ihr aber, seid stark und laßt eure Hände nicht erschlaffen, denn euer Tun wird belohnt werden!«
Ye, therefore, be strong, and let not your hands be slack, —for there is a reward for your work!
8 Als Asa diese Worte und die Weissagung des Propheten Asarja, des Sohnes Odeds, vernahm, gewann er neuen Mut und schaffte die Greuel aus dem ganzen Lande Juda und Benjamin und aus den Ortschaften weg, die er im Berglande Ephraim erobert hatte, und erneuerte den Altar des HERRN, der vor der Vorhalle (des Tempels) des HERRN stand.
And, when Asa heard these words and the prophecy of Oded the prophet, he strengthened himself, and put away the abominations out of all the land of Judah and Benjamin, and out of the cities which he had captured out of the hill country of Ephraim, —and renewed the altar of Yahweh, that was before the porch of Yahweh.
9 Dann versammelte er ganz Juda und Benjamin und diejenigen Ephraimiten, Manassiten und Simeoniten, die als Fremdlinge bei ihnen lebten; denn es waren ihm aus Israel Leute in großer Zahl zugefallen, als sie sahen, daß der HERR, sein Gott, mit ihm war.
And he gathered together all Judah and Benjamin, and the sojourners with them, out of Ephraim and out of Manasseh, and out of Simeon, —for they fell unto him out of Israel, in great numbers, because they saw that, Yahweh his God, was with him.
10 Sie kamen also im dritten Monat des fünfzehnten Regierungsjahres Asas in Jerusalem zusammen
So they gathered themselves together unto Jerusalem, in the third month of the fifteenth year of the reign of Asa.
11 und opferten dem HERRN an jenem Tage von der Beute, die sie heimgebracht hatten, siebenhundert Rinder und siebentausend Stück Kleinvieh.
And they sacrificed unto Yahweh, on that day, out of the spoil they had brought in, —oxen, seven hundred, and sheep, seven thousand.
12 Hierauf verpflichteten sie sich feierlich, den HERRN, den Gott ihrer Väter, mit ganzem Herzen und mit ganzer Seele zu suchen;
And they entered into a covenant, to seek Yahweh, God of their fathers, —with all their heart, and with all their soul;
13 jeder aber, der sich nicht an den HERRN, den Gott Israels, halten würde, sollte mit dem Tode bestraft werden, er möchte vornehm oder gering, Mann oder Weib sein.
and, whosoever would not seek unto Yahweh God of Israel, should be put to death, —whether small or great, whether man or woman.
14 Diesen Eid leisteten sie dem HERRN mit lauter Stimme und mit Jubelgeschrei, unter Trompeten- und Posaunenschall;
So they bound themselves by oath unto Yahweh, with a loud voice, and with shouting, —and with trumpets and with horns.
15 und ganz Juda war voller Freude über den Schwur, denn sie hatten ihn mit ganzem Herzen geleistet; und weil sie den HERRN mit aller Aufrichtigkeit suchten, ließ er sich von ihnen finden, und der HERR verschaffte ihnen Ruhe ringsumher. –
And all Judah rejoiced over the oath, for, with all their heart, had they sworn, and, with all their good will, had they sought him, and he was found of them, —and Yahweh gave them rest round about.
16 Sogar seiner Mutter Maacha entzog der König Asa den Rang der Königin-Mutter, weil sie der Aschera ein Götzenbild hatte anfertigen lassen; Asa ließ ihr Götzenbild umhauen und zerschlagen und im Kidrontal verbrennen.
Moreover also, as touching Maacah mother of Asa the king, he removed her from being queen, because she had made, unto the Sacred Stem, a monstrous thing, —so Asa cut down her monstrous thing, and reduced it to dust, and burnt it up, in the Kidron ravine.
17 Der Höhendienst wurde allerdings in Israel nicht abgeschafft, doch blieb das Herz Asas dem HERRN zeitlebens ungeteilt ergeben.
But, the high places, were not taken away out of Israel, —only, the heart of Asa, was perfect, all his days.
18 Er ließ auch die Geschenke, die sein Vater und die er selbst geweiht hatte, in den Tempel Gottes bringen: Silber, Gold und Geräte.
And he brought the hallowed things of his father and his own hallowed things, into the house of God, —silver and gold, and utensils.
19 Bis zum fünfunddreißigsten Regierungsjahre Asas fand kein Krieg statt;
And, war, was there none, —until the thirty-fifth year of the reign of Asa.
