1 Chronik 8
1 Benjamin zeugte Bela als seinen Erstgeborenen, Asbel als den zweiten, Ahiram als den dritten,
Benjamin had five sons: Bela, Ashbel, Aharah,
2 Noha als den vierten und Rapha als den fünften.

3 Bela aber hatte folgende Söhne: Ard, Gera, Abihud,
The sons of Bela were Addar, Gera, Abihud,
4 Abisua, Naaman, Ahoah,
Abishua, Naaman, Ahoah,
5 Gera, Sephuphan und Huram.
Gera, Shephuphan, and Huram.
6 Und dies waren die Söhne Ehuds: – sie waren Familienhäupter unter den Bewohnern von Geba, und man führte sie gefangen weg nach Manahath,
[One of Gera’s sons was Ehud.] The descendants of Ehud were leaders of their clans who lived in Geba [city], but they were forced to move to Manahath [city].
7 nämlich Naaman, Ahia und Gera; dieser führte sie weg; – er zeugte aber Ussa und Ahihud.
Ehud’s sons/descendants were Naaman, Ahijah, and Gera. Gera was the one who led them when they moved to Manahath. Gera was the father of Uzza and Ahihud.
8 Saharaim aber zeugte (Söhne) im Gefilde der Moabiter, nachdem er seine Frauen Husim und Baara verstoßen hatte;
[Another descendant of Benjamin was Shaharaim]. He and his wife Hushim had two sons, Abitub and Elpaal. In [the] Moab [region], Shaharaim divorced Hushim and his other wife Baara. [Then he married a woman whose name was] Hodesh, and they had [seven sons]: Jobab, Zibia, Mesha, Malcam, Jeuz, Sakia, and Mirmah. They were all leaders of their clans.
9 da zeugte er mit seiner Frau Hodes: Jobab, Zibja, Mesa, Malkam,
10 Jehuz, Sochja und Mirma; dies waren seine Söhne, Familienhäupter.
11 Mit Husim aber hatte er Abitub und Elpaal gezeugt.
12 Die Söhne Elpaals waren: Eber, Miseam und Semer; dieser erbaute Ono und Lod samt den zugehörigen Ortschaften.
Elpaal’s sons were Eber, Misham, Shemed, Beriah, and Shema. Shemed built [the towns of] Ono and Lod, and the nearby villages. Beriah and Shema were leaders of their clans, who lived in Aijalon [city]. They forced the people who lived in Gath [city] to leave their city.
13 Weiter: Beria und Sema – das waren die Familienhäupter unter den Bewohnern von Ajjalon; sie hatten die Bewohner von Gath in die Flucht geschlagen –;
14 (und ihre Brüder waren Elpaal, ) Sasak und Jeremoth.
Beriah’s sons were Ahio, Shashak, Jeremoth, Zebadiah, Arad, Eder, Michael, Ishpah, and Joha.
15 Sebadja aber und Arad, Eder,
16 Michael, Jispa und Joha waren die Söhne Berias;
17 und Sebadja, Mesullam, Hiski, Heber,
[Other] descendants of Elpaal were Zebadiah, Meshullam, Hizki, Heber,
18 Jismerai, Jislia und Jobab waren die Söhne Elpaals. –
Ishmerai, Izliah, and Jobab.
19 Jakim, Sichri, Sabdi,
[Another descendant of Benjamin was Shimei.] Shimei’s descendants included Jakim, Zicri, Zabdi, Elienai, Zillethai, Eliel, Adaiah, Beraiah, and Shimrath.
20 Eljoenai, Zillethai, Eliel,
21 Adaja, Beraja und Simrath waren die Söhne Simeis. –
22 Jispan, Eber, Eliel,
Shashak’s sons were Ishpan, Eber, Eliel,
23 Abdon, Sichri, Hanan,
Abdon, Zicri, Hanan,
24 Hananja, Elam, Anthothija,
Hananiah, Elam, Anthothijah,
25 Jiphdeja und Pnuel waren die Söhne Sasaks. –
Iphdeiah, and Penuel.
26 Samserai, Seharja, Athalja,
[Another descendant of Benjamin was] Jeroham, whose sons were Shamsherai, Shehariah, Athaliah, Jaareshiah, Elijah, and Zicri.
27 Jaaresja, Elia und Sichri waren die Söhne Jerohams.
28 Diese waren Familienhäupter in ihren Geschlechtern, Häupter; diese wohnten in Jerusalem.
In the records of these clans it is written that all those men were leaders of their clans, and they lived in Jerusalem.
29 In Gibeon aber wohnten: Jehuel, der Stammvater von Gibeon, dessen Frau Maacha hieß.
[Another descendant of Benjamin was] Jeiel. He lived in Gibeon [town], and he was the leader there. His wife was Maacah.
30 Sein erstgeborener Sohn war Abdon; außerdem Zur, Kis, Baal, Ner, Nadab,
His oldest son was Abdon. His other sons were Zur, Kish, Baal, Ner, Nadab,
31 Gedor, Ahjo, Secher
Gedor, Ahio, Zeker,
32 und Mikloth, der Simea zeugte. Auch diese wohnten ihren Stammesgenossen gegenüber in Jerusalem bei ihren Stammesgenossen. –
and Mikloth. Mikloth was the father of Shimeah. All these sons of Jeiel also lived near their relatives in Jerusalem.
33 Ner aber zeugte Abner, und Kis zeugte Saul, Saul zeugte Jonathan, Malchisua, Abinadab und Esbaal.
Ner was the father of Kish, and Kish was the father of [King] Saul. Saul was the father of Jonathan, Malchishua, Abinadab, and Esh-Baal.
34 Der Sohn Jonathans war Merib-Baal, und dieser zeugte Micha.
Jonathan’s son was Merib-Baal. Merib-Baal was the father of Micah.
35 Die Söhne Michas waren: Pithon, Melech, Tharea und Ahas.
Micah’s sons were Pithon, Melech, Tarea, and Ahaz.
36 Ahas zeugte Jehoadda, Jehoadda zeugte Alemeth, Asmaweth und Simri; Simri aber zeugte Moza,
Ahaz was the father of Jehoaddah. Jehoaddah was the father of Alemeth, Azmaveth, and Zimri. Zimri was the father of Moza.
37 Moza zeugte Binea; dessen Sohn war Rapha, dessen Sohn Eleasa, dessen Sohn Azel.
Moza was the father of Binea. The son of Binea was Raphah. The son of Raphah was Eleasah. The son of Eleasah was Azel.
38 Azel aber hatte sechs Söhne, die hießen: Asrikam, Bochru, Ismael, Searja, Obadja und Hanan. Alle diese waren Söhne Azels. –
Azel had six sons: Azrikam, Bokeru, Ishmael, Sheariah, Obadiah, and Hanan.
39 Die Söhne seines Bruders Esek waren: Ulam, sein Erstgeborener, Jehus der zweite und Eliphelet der dritte.
Azel’s [younger] brother was Eshek. Eshek’s oldest son was Ulam. His other sons were Jeush and Eliphelet.
40 Die Söhne Ulams waren kriegstüchtige Männer, die den Bogen zu spannen wußten, und sie hatten zahlreiche Söhne und Enkel, hundertundfünfzig an der Zahl. Diese alle gehören zu den Nachkommen Benjamins.
Ulam’s sons were brave warriors and (good archers/able to shoot arrows well). Altogether they had 150 sons and grandsons. Those were the descendants of Benjamin.
