1 Was sodann die Nachkommen Aarons betrifft, so waren ihre Abteilungen folgende: Die Söhne Aarons waren: Nadab und Abihu, Eleasar und Ithamar.
The work groups based on Aaron's descendants were these: Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.
2 Nadab und Abihu starben jedoch vor ihrem Vater, ohne Söhne zu hinterlassen; daher übten Eleasar und Ithamar den Priesterdienst allein aus.
Nadab and Abihu died before their father died. They had no children, so Eleazar and Ithamar served as priests.
3 David teilte sie nun, im Einvernehmen mit Zadok von den Nachkommen Eleasars und mit Ahimelech von den Nachkommen Ithamars, in Klassen ein je nach ihrem Amt bei ihrer Dienstleistung.
David, together with Zadok, a descendant of Eleazar, and Ahimelech, a descendant of Ithamar, divided them into groups for their work as priests.
4 Dabei stellte es sich nun heraus, daß die Nachkommen Eleasars an Familienhäuptern zahlreicher waren als die Nachkommen Ithamars; daher teilte man sie so ab, daß auf die Nachkommen Eleasars sechzehn, auf die Nachkommen Ithamars acht Familienhäupter kamen.
There were more leading men among Eleazar's descendants than among Ithamar's descendants, so they divided Eleazar's descendants into sixteen groups. They did this by heads of clans and by Ithamar's descendants. These divisions were eight in number, corresponding to their clans.
5 Man teilte sie aber, die einen wie die anderen, durch Lose ab; denn sowohl unter Eleasars als auch unter Ithamars Nachkommen gab es ›Fürsten des Heiligtums‹ und ›Fürsten Gottes‹;
They divided them impartially by lot, for there were holy officials and officials of God, from both Eleazar's descendants and Ithamar's descendants.
6 und Semaja, der Sohn Nethaneels, der Schriftführer unter den Leviten, schrieb sie in Gegenwart des Königs und der Fürsten sowie des Priesters Zadok und Ahimelechs, des Sohnes Abjathars, und der Familienhäupter der Priester und der Leviten auf: je eine Familie wurde für Ithamar ausgelost, und dann wurde je zweimal eine für Eleasar ausgelost.
Shemaiah son of Nethanel the scribe, a Levite, wrote down their names in the presence of the king, the officials, Zadok the priest, Ahimelech son of Abiathar, and the leaders of the priestly and Levite families. One clan was drawn by lot from Eleazar's descendants, and then the next would be drawn from Ithamar's descendants.
7 Das erste Los fiel auf Jojarib, das zweite auf Jedaja,
The first lot went to Jehoiarib, the second to Jedaiah,
8 das dritte auf Harim, das vierte auf Seorim,
the third to Harim, the fourth to Seorim,
9 das fünfte auf Malchia, das sechste auf Mijjamin,
the fifth to Malchijah, the sixth to Mijamin,
10 das siebte auf Hakkoz, das achte auf Abia,
the seventh to Hakkoz, the eighth to Abijah,
11 das neunte auf Jesua, das zehnte auf Sechanja,
the ninth to Jeshua, the tenth to Shecaniah,
12 das elfte auf Eljasib, das zwölfte auf Jakim,
the eleventh to Eliashib, the twelfth to Jakim,
13 das dreizehnte auf Huppa, das vierzehnte auf Jesebab,
the thirteenth to Huppah, the fourteenth to Jeshebeab,
14 das fünfzehnte auf Bilga, das sechzehnte auf Immer,
the fifteenth to Bilgah, the sixteenth to Immer,
15 das siebzehnte auf Hesir, das achtzehnte auf Happizzez,
the seventeenth to Hezir, the eighteenth to Happizzez,
16 das neunzehnte auf Pethahja, das zwanzigste auf Jeheskel,
the nineteenth to Pethahiah, the twentieth to Jehezkel,
17 das einundzwanzigste auf Jachin, das zweiundzwanzigste auf Gamul,
the twenty-first to Jakin, the twenty-second to Gamul,
18 das dreiundzwanzigste auf Delaja, das vierundzwanzigste auf Maasja.
the twenty-third to Delaiah, and the twenty-fourth to Maaziah.
19 Dies war ihre Klassenordnung für ihren Dienst, damit sie entsprechend der durch ihren Ahnherrn Aaron für sie bestimmten Verordnung in den Tempel des HERRN einträten, wie der HERR, der Gott Israels, ihm geboten hatte.
This was the order of their service, when they came into Yahweh's house, following the procedure given to them by Aaron their ancestor, as Yahweh, the God of Israel, had instructed him.
20 Was aber die übrigen Nachkommen Levis betrifft, so war von den Nachkommen Amrams Subael da, von den Nachkommen Subaels Jehdeja;
These were the rest of the descendants of Levi: Of the sons of Amram, Shubael; of the sons of Shubael, Jehdeiah.
21 von den Nachkommen Rehabjas war Jissia das Oberhaupt. –
As for Rehabiah, the sons of Rehabiah: Ishijah the leader.
22 Von den Jizhariten: Selomoth, von den Nachkommen Selomoths: Jahath. –
From the Izharites: Shelomoth; from the sons of Shelomoth: Jahath.
23 Die Nachkommen Hebrons waren: Jerija das Oberhaupt, Amarja der zweite, Jahasiel der dritte, Jekameam der vierte. –
The sons of Hebron: Jeriah the leader, Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third, and Jekameam the fourth.
24 Die Nachkommen Ussiels waren: Micha; von den Nachkommen Michas: Samir.
The son of Uzziel: Micah; from the sons of Micah: Shamir.
25 Michas Bruder war Jissia; von den Nachkommen Jissias: Sacharja. –
The brother of Micah: Ishijah. From the sons of Ishijah: Zechariah.
26 Die Nachkommen Meraris waren: Mahli und Musi und die Nachkommen seines Sohnes Jaasia.
The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi; from the son of Jaaziah: Beno.
27 Die Nachkommen Meraris von seinem Sohne Ussia waren: Soham, Sakkur und Ibri;
The sons of Merari from Jaaziah: Beno, Shoham, Zaccur, and Ibri.
28 von Mahli: Eleasar, der aber keine Söhne hatte, und Kis;
From Mahli: Eleazar, who had no sons.
29 von Kis: die Söhne des Kis: Jerahmeel.
From Kish: The son of Kish: Jerahmeel.
30 Die Nachkommen Musis waren: Mahli, Eder und Jerimoth. Dies waren die Nachkommen der Leviten nach ihren Familien. –
The sons of Mushi: Mahli, Eder, and Jerimoth. These were the Levites, listed by their families.
31 Auch sie wurden ausgelost ganz wie ihre Stammesgenossen, die Nachkommen Aarons, in Gegenwart des Königs David und Zadoks und Ahimelechs sowie der Familienhäupter der Priester und der Leviten, und zwar die Familienhäupter ganz ebenso wie ihre jüngsten Stammesgenossen.
These men who were the head of each father's house and each of their younger brothers, cast lots in the presence of King David, and Zadok and Ahimelech, along with the leaders of the families of the priests and Levites. They cast lots just as Aaron's descendants had done.
