Psalm 105
1 Danket dem HERRN und predigt seinen Namen; verkündigt sein Tun unter den Völkern!
O give thanks unto the LORD, call upon His name; make known His doings among the peoples.
2 Singet von ihm und lobet ihn; redet von allen seinen Wundern!
Sing unto Him, sing praises unto Him; speak ye of all His marvellous works.
3 Rühmet seinen heiligen Namen; es freue sich das Herz derer, die den HERRN suchen!
Glory ye in His holy name; let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD.
4 Fraget nach dem HERRN und nach seiner Macht, suchet sein Antlitz allewege!
Seek ye the LORD and His strength; seek His face continually.
5 Gedenket seiner Wunderwerke, die er getan hat, seiner Wunder und der Gerichte seines Mundes,
Remember His marvellous works that He hath done, His wonders, and the judgments of His mouth;
6 ihr, der Same Abrahams, seines Knechtes, ihr Kinder Jakobs, seine Auserwählten!
O ye seed of Abraham His servant, ye children of Jacob, His chosen ones.
7 Er ist der HERR, unser Gott; er richtet in aller Welt.
He is the LORD our God; His judgments are in all the earth.
8 Er gedenkt ewiglich an seinen Bund, des Wortes, das er verheißen hat auf tausend Geschlechter,
He hath remembered His covenant for ever, the word which He commanded to a thousand generations;
9 den er gemacht hat mit Abraham, und des Eides mit Isaak;
The covenant which He made with Abraham, and His oath unto Isaac;
10 und stellte es Jakob zu einem Rechte und Israel zum ewigen Bunde
And He established it unto Jacob for a statute, to Israel for an everlasting covenant;
11 und sprach: “Dir will ich das Land Kanaan geben, das Los eures Erbes,”
Saying: 'Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance.'
12 da sie wenig und gering waren und Fremdlinge darin.
When they were but a few men in number. Yea, very few, and sojourners in it,
13 Und sie zogen von Volk zu Volk, von einem Königreich zum andern Volk.
And when they went about from nation to nation, from one kingdom to another people,
14 Er ließ keinen Menschen ihnen Schaden tun und strafte Könige um ihretwillen.
He suffered no man to do them wrong, yea, for their sake He reproved kings:
15 “Tastet meine Gesalbten nicht an und tut meinen Propheten kein Leid!”
'Touch not Mine anointed ones, and do My prophets no harm.'
16 Und er ließ Teuerung ins Land kommen und entzog allen Vorrat des Brots.
And He called a famine upon the land; He broke the whole staff of bread.
17 Er sandte einen Mann vor ihnen hin; Joseph ward zum Knecht verkauft.
He sent a man before them; Joseph was sold for a servant;
18 Sie zwangen seine Füße in den Stock, sein Leib mußte in Eisen liegen,
His feet they hurt with fetters, his person was laid in iron;
19 bis daß sein Wort kam und die Rede des HERRN ihn durchläuterte.
Until the time that his word came to pass, the word of the LORD tested him.
20 Da sandte der König hin und ließ ihn losgeben; der HERR über Völker hieß ihn herauslassen.
The king sent and loosed him; even the ruler of the peoples, and set him free.
21 Er setzte ihn zum Herrn über sein Haus, zum Herrscher über alle seine Güter,
He made him lord of his house, and ruler of all his possessions;
22 daß er seine Fürsten unterwiese nach seiner Weise und seine Ältesten Weisheit lehrte.
To bind his princes at his pleasure, and teach his elders wisdom.
23 Und Israel zog nach Ägypten, und Jakob ward ein Fremdling im Lande Hams.
Israel also came into Egypt; and Jacob sojourned in the land of Ham.
24 Und er ließ sein Volk sehr wachsen und machte sie mächtiger denn ihre Feinde.
And He increased His people greatly, and made them too mighty for their adversaries.
25 Er verkehrte jener Herz, daß sie seinem Volk gram wurden und dachten, seine Knechte mit List zu dämpfen.
He turned their heart to hate His people, to deal craftily with His servants.
26 Er sandte seinen Knecht Mose, Aaron, den er erwählt hatte.
He sent Moses His servant, and Aaron whom He had chosen.
27 Dieselben taten seine Zeichen unter ihnen und seine Wunder im Lande Hams.
They wrought among them His manifold signs, and wonders in the land of Ham.
28 Er ließ Finsternis kommen und machte es finster; und sie waren nicht ungehorsam seinen Worten.
He sent darkness, and it was dark; and they rebelled not against His word.
29 Er verwandelte ihre Wasser in Blut und tötete ihre Fische.
He turned their waters into blood, and slew their fish.
30 Ihr Land wimmelte Frösche heraus in den Kammern ihrer Könige.
Their land swarmed with frogs, in the chambers of their kings.
31 Er sprach: da kam Ungeziefer, Stechmücken in all ihr Gebiet.
He spoke, and there came swarms of flies, and gnats in all their borders.
32 Er gab ihnen Hagel zum Regen, Feuerflammen in ihrem Lande
He gave them hail for rain, and flaming fire in their land.
33 und schlug ihre Weinstöcke und Feigenbäume und zerbrach die Bäume in ihrem Gebiet.
He smote their vines also and their fig-trees; and broke the trees of their borders.
34 Er sprach: da kamen Heuschrecken und Käfer ohne Zahl.
He spoke, and the locust came, and the canker-worm without number,
35 Und sie fraßen alles Gras in ihrem Lande und fraßen die Früchte auf ihrem Felde.
And did eat up every herb in their land, and did eat up the fruit of their ground.
36 Er schlug alle Erstgeburt in Ägypten, alle Erstlinge ihrer Kraft.
He smote also all the first-born in their land, the first-fruits of all their strength.
37 Und er führte sie aus mit Silber und Gold; und war kein Gebrechlicher unter ihren Stämmen.
And He brought them forth with silver and gold; and there was none that stumbled among His tribes.
38 Ägypten ward froh, daß sie auszogen; denn ihre Furcht war auf sie gefallen.
Egypt was glad when they departed; for the fear of them had fallen upon them.
39 Er breitete eine Wolke aus zur Decke und ein Feuer, des Nachts zu leuchten.
He spread a cloud for a screen; and fire to give light in the night.
40 Sie baten: da ließ er Wachteln kommen; und er sättigte sie mit Himmelsbrot.
They asked, and He brought quails, and gave them in plenty the bread of heaven.
41 Er öffnete den Felsen: da floß Wasser heraus, daß Bäche liefen in der dürren Wüste.
He opened the rock, and waters gushed out; they ran, a river in the dry places.
42 Denn er gedachte an sein heiliges Wort, das er Abraham, seinem Knecht, hatte geredet.
For He remembered His holy word unto Abraham His servant;
43 Also führte er sein Volk in Freuden und seine Auserwählten in Wonne
And He brought forth His people with joy, His chosen ones with singing.
44 und gab ihnen die Länder der Heiden, daß sie die Güter der Völker einnahmen,
And He gave them the lands of the nations, and they took the labour of the peoples in possession;
45 auf daß sie halten sollten seine Rechte und sein Gesetze bewahren. Halleluja!
That they might keep His statutes, and observe His laws. Hallelujah.
