Mica 7
1 Ach, es geht mir wie einem, der im Weinberge nachliest, da man keine Trauben findet zu essen, und wollte doch gerne die besten Früchte haben.
Alas for me! for I am become as one gathering straw in harvest, and as [one gathering] grape-gleanings in the vintage, when there is no cluster for me to eat the first-ripe fruit: alas my soul!
2 Die frommen Leute sind weg in diesem Lande, und die Gerechten sind nicht mehr unter den Leuten. Sie lauern alle auf Blut; ein jeglicher jagt den andern, daß er ihn verderbe,
For the godly is perished from the earth; and there is none amongst men that orders [his way] aright: they all quarrel even to blood: they grievously afflict every one his neighbour:
3 und meinen, sie tun wohl daran, wenn sie Böses tun. Was der Fürst will, das spricht der Richter, daß er ihm wieder einen Dienst tun soll. Die Gewaltigen raten nach ihrem Mutwillen, Schaden zu tun, und drehen's wie sie wollen.
they prepare their hands for mischief, the prince asks [a reward], and the judge speaks flattering words; it is the desire of their soul:
4 Der Beste unter ihnen ist wie ein Dorn und der Redlichste wie eine Hecke. Aber wenn der Tag deiner Prediger kommen wird, wenn du heimgesucht sollst werden, da werden sie dann nicht wissen, wo aus.
therefore I will take away their goods as a devouring moth, and as one who acts by a [rigid] rule in a day of visitation. Woe, woe, your times of vengeance are come; now shall be their lamentations.
5 Niemand glaube seinem Nächsten, niemand verlasse sich auf einen Freund; bewahre die Tür deines Mundes vor der, die in deinen Armen schläft.
Trust not in friends, and confide not in guides: beware of your wife, so as not to commit anything to her.
6 Denn der Sohn verachtet den Vater, die Tochter setzt sich wider die Mutter, die Schwiegertochter ist wider die Schwiegermutter; und des Menschen Feinde sind sein eigenes Hausgesinde.
For the son dishonours his father, the daughter will rise up against her mother, the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law: those in his house [shall be] all a man's enemies.
7 Ich aber will auf den HERRN schauen und des Gottes meines Heils warten; mein Gott wird mich hören.
But I will look to the Lord; I will wait upon God my Saviour: my God will listen to me.
8 Freue dich nicht, meine Feindin, daß ich darniederliege! Ich werde wieder aufkommen; und so ich im Finstern sitze, so ist doch der HERR mein Licht.
Rejoice not against me, mine enemy; for I have fallen [yet] shall arise; for though I should sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light to me.
9 Ich will des HERRN Zorn tragen, denn ich habe wider ihn gesündigt, bis er meine Sache ausführe und mir Recht schaffe; er wird mich ans Licht bringen, daß ich meine Lust an seiner Gnade sehe.
I will bear the indignation of the Lord, because I have sinned against him, until he make good my cause: he also shall maintain my right, and shall bring me out to the light, [and] I shall behold his righteousness.
10 Meine Feindin wird's sehen müssen und mit aller Schande bestehen, die jetzt zu mir sagt: Wo ist der HERR, dein Gott? Meine Augen werden's sehen, daß sie dann wie Kot auf der Gasse zertreten wird.
And she that is mine enemy shall see it, and shall clothe herself with shame, who says, Where [is] the Lord your God? mine eyes shall look upon her: now shall she be for trampling as mire in the ways.
11 Zu der Zeit werden deine Mauern gebaut werden, und Gottes Wort wird weit auskommen.
[It is] the day of making of brick; that day shall be your utter destruction, and that day shall utterly abolish your ordinances.
12 Und zur selben Zeit werden sie von Assur und von den Städten Ägyptens zu dir kommen, von Ägypten bis an den Strom, von einem Meer zum andern, von einem Gebirge zum andern.
And your cities shall be levelled, and parted amongst the Assyrians; and your strong cities shall be parted from Tyre to the river, and from sea to sea, and from mountain to mountain.
13 Denn das Land wird wüst sein seiner Einwohner halben, um der Frucht willen ihrer Werke.
And the land shall be utterly desolate together with them that inhabit it, because of the fruit of their doings.
14 Du aber weide dein Volk mit deinem Stabe, die Herde deines Erbteils, die da besonders wohnt im Walde, mitten auf dem Karmel; laß sie zu Basan und Gilead weiden wie vor alters.
Tend your people with your rod, the sheep of your inheritance, those that inhabit by themselves the thicket in the midst of Carmel: they shall feed in the land of Basan, and in the land of Galaad, as in the days of old.
15 Ich will sie Wunder sehen lassen gleichwie zur Zeit, da sie aus Ägyptenland zogen,
And according to the days of your departure out of Egypt shall you see marvellous [things].
16 daß es die Heiden sehen und alle ihre Gewaltigen sich schämen sollen und ihre Hand auf ihren Mund legen und ihre Ohren zuhalten.
The nations shall see and be ashamed; and at all their might they shall lay their hands upon their mouth, their ears shall be deafened.
17 Sie sollen Staub lecken wie die Schlangen und wie das Gewürm auf Erden zitternd hervorkommen aus ihren Burgen; sie werden sich fürchten vor dem HERRN, unserm Gott, und vor dir sich entsetzen.
They shall lick the dust as serpents crawling on the earth, they shall be confounded in their holes; they shall be amazed at the Lord our God, and will be afraid of you.
18 Wo ist solch ein Gott, wie du bist, der die Sünde vergibt und erläßt die Missetat den übrigen seines Erbteils, der seinen Zorn nicht ewiglich behält! denn er ist barmherzig.
Who is a God like you, cancelling iniquities, and passing over the sins of the remnant of his inheritance? and he has not kept his anger for a testimony, for he delights in mercy.
19 Er wird sich unser wieder erbarmen, unsere Missetaten dämpfen und alle unsre Sünden in die Tiefen des Meeres werfen.
He will return and have mercy upon us; he will sink our iniquities, and they shall be cast into the depth of the sea, [even] all our sins.
20 Du wirst dem Jakob die Treue und Abraham die Gnade halten, wie du unsern Vätern vorlängst geschworen hast.
He shall give blessings truly to Jacob, and mercy to Abraam, as you sware to our fathers, according to the former days.
