Lukas 4
1 Jesus aber, voll des heiligen Geistes, kam wieder von dem Jordan und ward vom Geist in die Wüste geführt
And Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness,
2 und ward vierzig Tage lang vom Teufel versucht. Und er aß nichts in diesen Tagen; und da sie ein Ende hatten, hungerte ihn darnach.
being tempted forty days by the devil. And he ate nothing in those days, and when they were ended, afterward he was hungry.
3 Der Teufel aber sprach zu ihm: Bist du Gottes Sohn, so sprich zu dem Stein, daß er Brot werde.
And the devil said to him, If thou are the Son of God, speak to this stone that it may become bread.
4 Und Jesus antwortete und sprach zu ihm: Es steht geschrieben: “Der Mensch lebt nicht allein vom Brot, sondern von einem jeglichen Wort Gottes.”
And Jesus answered, saying to him, It is written, Man will not live on bread alone, but on every saying of God.
5 Und der Teufel führte ihn auf einen hohen Berg und zeigte ihm alle Reiche der ganzen Welt in einem Augenblick
And having brought him onto a high mountain, the devil showed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.
6 und sprach zu ihm: Alle diese Macht will ich dir geben und ihre Herrlichkeit; denn sie ist mir übergeben, und ich gebe sie, welchem ich will.
And the devil said to him, I will give to thee all this authority, and the glory of them, because it has been delivered to me, and to whomever I want I give it.
7 So du nun mich willst anbeten, so soll es alles dein sein.
If therefore thou will worship before me, it will all be thine.
8 Jesus antwortete ihm und sprach: Es steht geschrieben: “Du sollst Gott, deinen HERRN, anbeten und ihm allein dienen.”
And having answered, Jesus said to him, Go thee behind me, Satan. It is written, Thou shall worship the Lord thy God, and him only shall thou serve.
9 Und er führte ihn gen Jerusalem und stellte ihn auf des Tempels Zinne und sprach zu ihm: Bist du Gottes Sohn, so laß dich von hinnen hinunter
And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on the pinnacle of the temple, and he said to him, If thou are the Son of God, cast thyself down from here,
10 denn es steht geschrieben: “Er wird befehlen seinen Engeln von dir, daß sie dich bewahren
for it is written, He will give his agents orders about thee, to protect thee,
11 und auf den Händen tragen, auf daß du nicht etwa deinen Fuß an einen Stein stößt.”
and, They will take thee up on their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
12 Jesus antwortete und sprach zu ihm: Es ist gesagt: “Du sollst Gott, deinen HERRN, nicht versuchen.”
And having answered, Jesus said to him, It is said, Thou shall not challenge the Lord thy God.
13 Und da der Teufel alle Versuchung vollendet hatte, wich er von ihm eine Zeitlang.
And when the devil ended every temptation, he withdrew from him until a time.
14 Und Jesus kam wieder in des Geistes Kraft nach Galiläa; und das Gerücht erscholl von ihm durch alle umliegenden Orte.
And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee. And a report went out about him through the entire region around.
15 Und er lehrte in ihren Schulen und ward von jedermann gepriesen.
And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified by all.
16 Und er kam gen Nazareth, da er erzogen war, und ging in die Schule nach seiner Gewohnheit am Sabbattage und stand auf und wollte lesen.
And he came to Nazareth, where he was brought up. And according to that which was customary to him, he entered into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up to read.
17 Da ward ihm das Buch des Propheten Jesaja gereicht. Und da er das Buch auftat, fand er den Ort, da geschrieben steht:
And the book of the prophet Isaiah was given to him. And having opened the book, he found the place where it was written,
18 “Der Geist des HERRN ist bei mir, darum, daß er mich gesalbt hat; er hat mich gesandt, zu verkündigen das Evangelium den Armen, zu heilen die zerstoßenen Herzen, zu predigen den Gefangenen, daß sie los sein sollten, und den Blinden das Gesicht und den Zerschlagenen, daß sie frei und ledig sein sollen,
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the broken hearted, to proclaim deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to sent forth in deliverance those who have been broken,
19 und zu verkündigen das angenehme Jahr des HERRN.”
to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.
20 Und als er das Buch zutat, gab er's dem Diener und setzte sich. Und aller Augen, die in der Schule waren, sahen auf ihn.
And having closed the book, having given it back to the attendant, he sat down. And the eyes of all in the synagogue were focused on him.
21 Und er fing an, zu sagen zu ihnen: Heute ist diese Schrift erfüllt vor euren Ohren.
And he began to say to them, Today this scripture has been fulfilled in your ears.
22 Und sie gaben alle Zeugnis von ihm und wunderten sich der holdseligen Worte, die aus seinem Munde gingen, und sprachen: “Ist das nicht Josephs Sohn?”
And all witnessed to him, and wondered at the words of grace that proceeded out of his mouth. And they said, Is this not the son of Joseph?
23 Und er sprach zu ihnen: Ihr werdet freilich zu mir sagen dies Sprichwort: Arzt, hilf dir selber! Denn wie große Dinge haben wir gehört, zu Kapernaum geschehen! Tue also auch hier, in deiner Vaterstadt.
And he said to them, Ye will doubtless say to me this proverb: Physician, heal thyself. How many things we heard that happened at Capernaum, do also here in thy fatherland.
24 Er sprach aber: Wahrlich, ich sage euch: “Kein Prophet ist angenehm in seinem Vaterlande.
And he said, Truly I say to you, that not one prophet is acceptable in his fatherland.
25 Aber in der Wahrheit sage ich euch: Es waren viele Witwen in Israel zu Elia's Zeiten, da der Himmel verschlossen war drei Jahre und sechs Monate, da eine große Teuerung war im ganzen Lande
But in truth I say to you, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the sky was shut up for three years and six months, when a great famine occurred on all the land.
26 und zu deren keiner ward Elia gesandt denn allein gen Sarepta der Sidonier zu einer Witwe.
And Elijah was sent to none of them, except to Zarephath, to a widow woman of Sidon.
27 Und viele Aussätzige waren in Israel zu des Propheten Elisa Zeiten; und deren keiner wurde gereinigt denn allein Naeman aus Syrien.
And many lepers were in Israel near Elisha the prophet, and none of them was cleansed, except Naaman the Syrian.
28 Und sie wurden voll Zorns alle, die in der Schule waren, da sie das hörten,
And all in the synagogue were filled with rage, having heard these things.
29 und standen auf und stießen ihn zur Stadt hinaus und führten ihn auf einen Hügel des Berges, darauf ihre Stadt gebaut war, daß sie ihn hinabstürzten.
And having risen up, they thrust him outside of the city, and brought him as far as the brow of the hill on which their city had been built, in order to throw him down headlong.
30 Aber er ging mitten durch sie hinweg.
But he, having passed through the midst of them, departed.
31 Und er kam gen Kapernaum, in die Stadt Galiläas, und lehrte sie am Sabbat.
And he came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee. And he was teaching them on the sabbath day,
32 Und sie verwunderten sich seiner Lehre; denn seine Rede war gewaltig.
and they were astonished at his teaching, for his word was with authority.
33 Und es war ein Mensch in der Schule, besessen mit einem unsauberen Teufel; der schrie laut
And in the synagogue there was a man who had a spirit of an unclean deity. And it cried out in a great voice, saying,
34 und sprach: Halt, was haben wir mit dir zu schaffen, Jesus von Nazareth? Du bist gekommen uns zu verderben. Ich weiß wer du bist: der heilige Gottes.
Oh no! What is with us and with thee, Jesus of Nazareth? Did thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou are, the Holy man of God.
35 Und Jesus bedrohte ihn und sprach: Verstumme und fahre aus von ihm! Und der Teufel warf ihn mitten unter sie und fuhr von ihm aus und tat ihm keinen Schaden.
And Jesus rebuked it, saying, Be thou muzzled, and come out of him. And the demon having thrown him down in the midst, it came out of him, not having harm him.
36 Und es kam eine Furcht über sie alle, und redeten miteinander und sprachen: Was ist das für ein Ding? Er gebietet mit Macht und Gewalt den unsauberen Geistern, und sie fahren aus.
And amazement developed in all, and they spoke among each other, saying, What is this word? Because with authority and power he commands the unclean spirits, and they come out.
37 Und es erscholl sein Gerücht in alle Örter des umliegenden Landes.
And a report about him went forth into every place of the region around.
38 Und er stand auf aus der Schule und kam in Simons Haus. Und Simons Schwiegermutter war mit einem harten Fieber behaftet; und sie baten ihn für sie.
And having arisen from the synagogue, he entered into the house of Simon. And Simon's mother-in-law was gripped by a great fever, and they besought him about her.
39 Und er trat zu ihr und gebot dem Fieber, und es verließ sie. Und alsbald stand sie auf und diente ihnen.
And having stood over her, he rebuked the fever. And it left her, and immediately after rising up, she served them.
40 Und da die Sonne untergegangen war, brachten alle, die Kranke hatten mit mancherlei Seuchen, sie zu ihm. Und er legte auf einen jeglichen die Hände und machte sie gesund.
And when the sun was setting, all, as many as had those who were incapacitated with various diseases, brought them to him. And having laid his hands on each one of them, he healed them.
41 Es fuhren auch die Teufel aus von vielen, schrieen und sprachen: Du bist Christus, der Sohn Gottes! Und er bedrohte sie und ließ sie nicht reden; denn sie wußten, daß er Christus war.
And also demons came out from many, crying out, and saying, Thou are the Christ, the Son of God. And rebuking them, he did not allow them to speak, because they knew him to be the Christ.
42 Da es aber Tag ward, ging er hinaus an eine wüste Stätte; und das Volk suchte ihn, und sie kamen zu ihm und hielten ihn auf, daß er nicht von ihnen ginge.
And when it became day, having departed, he went to a desolate place. And the multitudes sought him, and they came to him, and were restraining him not depart from them.
43 Er sprach aber zu ihnen: Ich muß auch andern Städten das Evangelium verkündigen vom Reiche Gottes; denn dazu bin ich gesandt.
But he said to them, I must preach the good news of the kingdom of God to the other cities also, because I was sent for this.
44 Und er predigte in den Schulen Galiläas.
And he was preaching in the synagogues of Galilee.
