Josua 19
1 Darnach fiel das zweite Los auf den Stamm der Kinder Simeon nach ihren Geschlechtern; und ihr Erbteil war unter dem Erbteil der Kinder Juda.
The second/next tribe that was allotted land was the tribe of Simeon. Each clan in that tribe was allotted some land that was inside the area that had been allotted to the tribe of Judah.
2 Und es ward ihnen zum Erbteil Beer-Seba, Seba, Molada,
Their land included the towns of Beersheba ([which is also named] Sheba), Moladah,
3 Hazar-Sual, Bala, Ezem,
Hazar-Shual, Balah, Ezem,
4 Eltholad, Bethul, Horma,
Eltolad, Bethul, Hormah,
5 Ziklag, Beth-Markaboth, Hazar-Susa,
Ziklag, Beth-Marcaboth. Hazar-Susah,
6 Beth-Lebaoth, Saruhen. Das sind dreizehn Städte und ihre Dörfer.
Beth-Lebaoth, and Sharuhen. Altogether there were 13 towns and the surrounding villages.
7 Ain, Rimmon, Ehter, Asan. Das sind vier Städte und ihre Dörfer.
The land allotted to them also included the four cities of Ain, Rimmon, Ether, and Ashan, and their surrounding villages.
8 Dazu alle Dörfer, die um diese Städte liegen, bis gen Baalath-Beer-Ramath gegen Mittag. Das ist das Erbteil des Stammes der Kinder Simeon nach ihren Geschlechtern.
They were also allotted some very small villages in an area that extended south to Baalath-Beer (which is [also named] Ramah, in the southern desert). That was the land allotted to the clans of the tribe of Simeon.
9 Denn der Kinder Simeon Erbteil ist unter dem Erbteil der Kinder Juda. Weil das Erbteil der Kinder Juda ihnen zu groß war, darum erbten die Kinder Simeon unter ihrem Erbteil.
The tribe of Judah had been allotted much more land than they needed, so part of their land was given to the tribe of Simeon.
10 Das dritte Los fiel auf die Kinder Sebulon nach ihren Geschlechtern; und die Grenze ihres Erbteils war bis gen Sarid
The third/next tribe that was allotted land was the tribe of Zebulun. Each clan of that tribe was allotted some of the land. The southern border started at Sarid [city].
11 und geht hinauf abendwärts gen Mareala und stößt an Dabbeseth und stößt an den Bach, der vor Jokneam fließt,
It extended west to Maralah [city] and on to Dabbesheth [city], and on to the brook just north of Jokneam [city].
12 und wendet sich von Sarid gegen der Sonne Aufgang bis an die Grenze Kisloth-Thabor und kommt hinaus gen Dabrath und reicht hinauf gen Japhia,
The border extended east from Sarid to the area near Kisloth-Tabor [city] and on to Daberath [town] and on to Japhia [town].
13 und von da geht sie gegen Aufgang durch Gath-Hepher, Eth-Kazin und kommt hinaus gen Rimmon, Mithoar und Nea
From there it extended east to Gath-Hepher [city] and Eth-Kazin [town], and north to Rimmon [city]. From there the border extended [west] to Neah [town].
14 und lenkt sich herum mitternachtwärts gen Hannathon und endet im Tal Jephthah-El,
From Neah it extended south to Hannathon [city] and from there to Iphtah-El Valley.
15 und Kattath, Nahalal, Simron, Jedeala und Bethlehem. Das sind zwölf Städte und ihre Dörfer.
Their area included the towns of Kattath, Nahalal, Shimron, Idalah, and Bethlehem. Altogether there were twelve towns and the surrounding villages.
16 Das ist das Erbteil der Kinder Sebulon nach ihren Geschlechtern; das sind ihre Städte und Dörfer.
That was the land that was allotted to the clans of the tribe of Zebulun.
17 Das vierte Los fiel auf die Kinder Isaschar nach ihren Geschlechtern.
The fourth/next tribe that was allotted land was the tribe of Issachar. Each of the clans of that tribe was allotted some of the land.
18 Und ihr Gebiet war Jesreel, Chesulloth, Sunem,
Their land included the cities of Jezreel, Kesulloth, Shunem,
19 Hapharaim, Sion, Anaharath,
Hapharaim, Shion, Anaharath,
20 Rabbith, Kisjon, Ebez,
Rabbith, Kishion, Ebez,
21 Remeth, En-Gannim, En-Hadda, Beth-Pazez,
Remeth, En-Gannim, En-Haddah, and Beth-Pazzez.
22 und die Grenze stößt an Thabor, Sahazima, Beth-Semes, und ihr Ende ist am Jordan. Sechzehn Städte und ihre Dörfer.
The border of the area that was allotted to the tribe of Issachar was close to Tabor, Shahazumah, and Beth-Shemesh [cities], and ended [in the east] at the Jordan [River]. Altogether there were 16 cities and the surrounding villages.
23 Das ist das Erbteil des Stammes der Kinder Isaschar nach ihren Geschlechtern, die Städte und ihre Dörfer.
Those cities and villages were in the land allotted to the clans of the tribe of Issachar.
24 Das fünfte Los fiel auf den Stamm der Kinder Asser nach ihren Geschlechtern.
The fifth/next tribe that was allotted land was the tribe of Asher. Each of the clans in that tribe was allotted some of the land.
25 Und ihr Gebiet war Helkath, Hali, Beten, Achsaph,
Their land included the towns of Helkath, Hali, Beten, Acshaph,
26 Allammelech, Amead, Miseal, und die Grenze stößt an den Karmel am Meer und an Sihor-Libnath
Allammelech, Amad, and Mishal. The western border started at Carmel [Mountain] and Shihor-Libnath.
27 und wendet sich gegen der Sonne Aufgang gen Beth-Dagon und stößt an Sebulon und an das Tal Jephthah-El mitternachtwärts, Beth-Emek, Negiel und kommt hinaus gen Kabul zur Linken,
From there it extended [southeast] to Beth-Dagon [town], and then to [the area that was allotted to the tribe of] Zebulun and Iphtah-El Valley. From there the border extended east and then north to Beth-Emek [town] and Neiel and Cabul [towns].
28 Ebron, Rehob, Hammon, Kana bis an Groß-Sidon
From there it extended west to Abdon, Rehob, Hammon, and Kanah [cities], and continued to Sidon, which is a big city.
29 und wendet sich gen Rama bis zu der festen Stadt Tyrus und wendet sich gen Hosa und endet am Meer in der Gegend von Achsib
From there the border extended south toward Ramah and to the big city of Tyre that had strong walls around it. From there the border extended [west] to Hosah [town] and ended at the [Mediterranean] Sea. Within their area were the towns of Aczib,
30 und schließt ein Umma, Aphek, Rehob. Zweiundzwanzig Städte und ihre Dörfer.
Ummah, Aphek, and Rehob. Altogether there were 22 towns and their surrounding villages.
31 Das ist das Erbteil des Stammes der Kinder Asser nach ihren Geschlechtern, die Städte und ihre Dörfer.
Those cities and villages were within the land that was allotted to the clans of the tribe of Asher.
32 Das sechste Los fiel auf die Kinder Naphthali nach ihren Geschlechtern.
The sixth/next tribe that was allotted land was the tribe of Naphtali. Each of the clans in that tribe was allotted some of the land.
33 Und ihre Grenze war von Heleph, von den Eichen bei Zaanannim an, Adami-Nebek, Jabneel, bis gen Lakkum und endet am Jordan,
The border of their land started [in the west] at the [huge] oak tree at Zaanannim, near Heleph [town]. It extended [east] through Adami-Nekeb [city] and Jabneel, and then to Lakkum, and ended at the Jordan [River].
34 und die Grenze wendet sich zum Abend gen Asnoth-Thabor und kommt von da hinaus gen Hukkok und stößt an Sebulon gegen Mittag und an Asser gegen Abend und an Juda am Jordan gegen der Sonne Aufgang;
The western boundary extended through Aznoth-Tabor as far as Hukkok [city]. It extended to the borders of [the tribe of] Zebulun at the south, to [the border of the tribe of] Asher on the west, and the Jordan [River] at the east.
35 und feste Städte sind: Ziddim, Zer, Hammath, Rakkath, Kinnereth,
[Within their land were] several cities with strong walls around them. They were Ziddim, Zer, Hammath, Rakkath, Kinnereth,
36 Adama, Rama, Hazor,
Adamah, Ramah, Hazor,
37 Kedes, Edrei, En-Hazor,
Kedesh, Edrei, En-Hazor,
38 Jereon, Migdal-El, Horem, Beth-Anath, Beth-Semes. Neunzehn Städte und ihre Dörfer.
Iron, Migdal-El, Horem, Beth-Anath, and Beth-Shemesh. Altogether there were 19 cities and the surrounding villages.
39 Das ist das Erbteil des Stammes der Kinder Naphthali nach ihren Geschlechtern, die Städte und ihre Dörfer.
Those cities and surrounding villages were in the land that was allotted to the clans of the tribe of Naphtali.
40 Das siebente Los fiel auf den Stamm der Kinder Dan nach ihren Geschlechtern.
The seventh/last tribe that was allotted land was the tribe of Dan. Each of the clans in that tribe was allotted some of the land.
41 Und das Gebiet ihres Erbteils waren Zora, Esthaol, Ir-Semes,
Their land included the towns of Zorah, Eshtaol, Ir-Shemesh,
42 Saalabbin, Ajalon, Jethla,
Shaalabbin, Aijalon, Ithlah,
43 Elon, Thimnatha, Ekron,
Elon, Timnah, Ekron,
44 Eltheke, Gibbethon, Baalath,
Eltekeh, Gibbethon, Baalath,
45 Jehud, Bne-Barak, Gath-Rimmon,
Jehud, Bene-Berak, Gath-Rimmon,
46 Me-Jarkon, Rakkon mit den Grenzen gegen Japho.
Me-Jarkon, Rakkon, and the area near Joppa.
47 Und an demselben endet das Gebiet der Kinder Dan. Und die Kinder Dan zogen hinauf und stritten wider Lesem und gewannen und schlugen es mit der Schärfe des Schwerts und nahmen es ein und wohnten darin und nannten es Dan nach ihres Vaters Namen.
But the people of the tribe of Dan were unable to take control of the land that had been allotted to them. So they went [northeast] and fought against the people in Leshem [city]. They defeated and killed all the people who lived there. Then they began to live in Leshem, and changed the name of the city to Dan, the man from whom their tribe descended.
48 Das ist das Erbteil des Stammes der Kinder Dan nach ihren Geschlechtern, die Städte und ihre Dörfer.
All of those towns and surrounding villages were in the land that was allotted to the clans in the tribe of Dan.
49 Und da sie das Ganze Land ausgeteilt hatten nach seinen Grenzen, gaben die Kinder Israel Josua, dem Sohn Nuns, ein Erbteil unter ihnen
After the Israeli leaders divided the land among the tribes, they allotted some land to Joshua.
50 und gaben ihm nach dem Befehl des HERRN die Stadt, die er forderte, nämlich Thimnath-Serah auf dem Gebirge Ephraim. Da baute er die Stadt und wohnte darin.
They allotted to him Timnath-Serah. Yahweh had said that he could have whatever city he wanted, and that was the city that he chose. It was in the hilly region which was allotted to the tribe of Ephraim. Joshua rebuilt the city and lived there.
51 Das sind die Erbteile, die Eleasar, der Priester, und Josua, der Sohn Nuns, und die Obersten der Vaterhäuser unter den Stämmen durchs Los den Kindern Israel austeilten zu Silo vor dem HERRN, vor der Tür der Hütte des Stifts; und vollendeten also das Austeilen des Landes.
Those were the areas that were allotted to the various tribes of Israel. Eleazar the Supreme Priest and Joshua and the leaders of each tribe divided up the land while they were all at Shiloh, by (casting lots/throwing marked stones) [to decide which area each tribe would receive]. They did that while Yahweh was watching, at the entrance of the Sacred Tent. In that way they completed dividing up the land.
