Johannes 19
1 Da nahm Pilatus Jesum und geißelte ihn.
Then Pilate tooke Iesus and scourged him.
2 Und die Kriegsknechte flochten eine Krone von Dornen und setzten sie auf sein Haupt und legten ihm ein Purpurkleid an
And the souldiers platted a crowne of thornes, and put it on his head, and they put on him a purple garment,
3 und sprachen: Sei gegrüßt, lieber Judenkönig! und gaben ihm Backenstreiche.
And saide, Haile, King of the Iewes. And they smote him with their roddes.
4 Da ging Pilatus wieder heraus und sprach zu ihnen: Sehet, ich führe ihn heraus zu euch, daß ihr erkennt, daß ich keine Schuld an ihm finde.
Then Pilate went foorth againe, and said vnto them, Behold, I bring him forth to you, that ye may knowe, that I finde no fault in him at all.
5 Also ging Jesus heraus und trug eine Dornenkrone und ein Purpurkleid. Und er spricht zu ihnen: Sehet, welch ein Mensch!
Then came Iesus foorth wearing a crowne of thornes, and a purple garment. And Pilate said vnto them, Beholde the man.
6 Da ihn die Hohenpriester und die Diener sahen, schrieen sie und sprachen: Kreuzige! Kreuzige! Pilatus spricht zu ihnen: Nehmt ihr ihn hin und kreuzigt ihn; denn ich finde keine Schuld an ihm.
Then when the hie Priests and officers sawe him, they cried, saying, Crucifie, crucifie him. Pilate said vnto them, Take yee him and crucifie him: for I finde no fault in him.
7 Die Juden antworteten ihm: Wir haben ein Gesetz, und nach dem Gesetz soll er sterben; denn er hat sich selbst zu Gottes Sohn gemacht.
The Iewes answered him, We haue a lawe, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himselfe the Sonne of God.
8 Da Pilatus das Wort hörte, fürchtete er sich noch mehr
When Pilate then heard that woorde, he was the more afraide,
9 und ging wieder hinein in das Richthaus und spricht zu Jesus: Woher bist du? Aber Jesus gab ihm keine Antwort.
And went againe into the common hall, and saide vnto Iesus, Whence art thou? But Iesus gaue him none answere.
10 Da sprach Pilatus zu ihm: Redest du nicht mit mir? Weißt du nicht, daß ich Macht habe, dich zu kreuzigen, und Macht habe, dich loszugeben?
Then saide Pilate vnto him, Speakest thou not vnto me? Knowest thou not that I haue power to crucifie thee, and haue power to loose thee?
11 Jesus antwortete: Du hättest keine Macht über mich, wenn sie dir nicht wäre von obenherab gegeben; darum, der mich dir überantwortet hat, der hat größere Sünde.
Iesus answered, Thou couldest haue no power at all against me, except it were giuen thee from aboue: therefore he that deliuered me vnto thee, hath the greater sinne.
12 Von da an trachtete Pilatus, wie er ihn losließe. Die Juden aber schrieen und sprachen: Läßt du diesen los, so bist du des Kaisers Freund nicht; denn wer sich zum König macht, der ist wider den Kaiser.
From thence foorth Pilate sought to loose him, but the Iewes cried, saying, If thou deliuer him, thou art not Cesars friende: for whosoeuer maketh himselfe a King, speaketh against Cesar.
13 Da Pilatus das Wort hörte, führte er Jesum heraus und setzte sich auf den Richtstuhl an der Stätte, die da heißt Hochpflaster, auf hebräisch aber Gabbatha.
When Pilate heard this woorde, hee brought Iesus foorth, and sate downe in the iudgement seate in a place called the Pauement, and in Hebrewe, Gabbatha.
14 Es war aber der Rüsttag auf Ostern, um die sechste Stunde. Und er spricht zu den Juden: Sehet, das ist euer König!
And it was the Preparation of the Passeouer, and about the sixt houre: and hee sayde vnto the Iewes, Beholde your King.
15 Sie schrieen aber: Weg, weg mit dem! kreuzige ihn! Spricht Pilatus zu ihnen: Soll ich euren König kreuzigen? Die Hohenpriester antworteten: Wir haben keinen König denn den Kaiser.
But they cried, Away with him, away with him, crucifie him. Pilate sayde vnto them, Shall I crucifie your King? The high Priestes answered, We haue no King but Cesar.
16 Da überantwortete er ihn, daß er gekreuzigt würde. Sie nahmen aber Jesum und führten ihn ab.
Then deliuered he him vnto them, to be crucified. And they tooke Iesus, and led him away.
17 Und er trug sein Kreuz und ging hinaus zur Stätte, die da heißt Schädelstätte, welche heißt auf hebräisch Golgatha.
And he bare his owne crosse, and came into a place named of dead mens Skulles, which is called in Hebrewe, Golgotha:
18 Allda kreuzigten sie ihn und mit ihm zwei andere zu beiden Seiten, Jesum aber mitteninne.
Where they crucified him, and two other with him, on either side one, and Iesus in the middes.
19 Pilatus aber schrieb eine Überschrift und setzte sie auf das Kreuz; und war geschrieben: Jesus von Nazareth, der Juden König.
And Pilate wrote also a title, and put it on the crosse, and it was written, JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWES.
20 Diese Überschrift lasen viele Juden; denn die Stätte war nahe bei der Stadt, da Jesus gekreuzigt ward. Und es war geschrieben in hebräischer, griechischer und lateinischer Sprache.
This title then read many of the Iewes: for the place where Iesus was crucified, was neere to the citie: and it was written in Hebrewe, Greeke and Latine.
21 Da sprachen die Hohenpriester der Juden zu Pilatus: Schreibe nicht: “Der Juden König”, sondern daß er gesagt habe: Ich bin der Juden König.
Then saide the hie Priests of the Iewes to Pilate, Write not, The King of the Iewes, but that he sayd, I am King of the Iewes.
22 Pilatus antwortete: Was ich geschrieben habe, das habe ich geschrieben.
Pilate answered, What I haue written, I haue written.
23 Die Kriegsknechte aber, da sie Jesus gekreuzigt hatten, nahmen sie seine Kleider und machten vier Teile, einem jeglichen Kriegsknecht ein Teil, dazu auch den Rock. Der Rock aber war ungenäht, von obenan gewirkt durch und durch.
Then the souldiers, when they had crucified Iesus, tooke his garments (and made foure partes, to euery souldier a part) and his coat: and the coat was without seame wouen from the toppe throughout.
24 Da sprachen sie untereinander: Laßt uns den nicht zerteilen, sondern darum losen, wes er sein soll. (Auf daß erfüllet würde die Schrift, die da sagt: “Sie haben meine Kleider unter sich geteilt und haben über meinen Rock das Los geworfen.”) Solches taten die Kriegsknechte.
Therefore they sayde one to another, Let vs not deuide it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be. This was that the Scripture might be fulfilled, which sayth, They parted my garments among them, and on my coate did cast lots. So the souldiers did these things in deede.
25 Es stand aber bei dem Kreuze Jesu seine Mutter und seiner Mutter Schwester, Maria, des Kleophas Weib, und Maria Magdalena.
Then stoode by the crosse of Iesus his mother, and his mothers sister, Marie the wife of Cleopas, and Marie Magdalene.
26 Da nun Jesus seine Mutter sah und den Jünger dabeistehen, den er liebhatte, spricht er zu seiner Mutter: Weib, siehe, das ist dein Sohn!
And when Iesus sawe his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loued, he said vnto his mother, Woman, beholde thy sonne.
27 Darnach spricht er zu dem Jünger: Siehe, das ist deine Mutter! Und von der Stunde an nahm sie der Jünger zu sich.
Then saide he to the disciple, Beholde thy mother: and from that houre, the disciple tooke her home vnto him.
28 Darnach, da Jesus wußte, daß schon alles vollbracht war, daß die Schrift erfüllt würde, spricht er: Mich dürstet!
After, when Iesus knew that all things were performed, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, he said, I thirst.
29 Da stand ein Gefäß voll Essig. Sie aber füllten einen Schwamm mit Essig und legten ihn um einen Isop und hielten es ihm dar zum Munde.
And there was set a vessell full of vineger: and they filled a spondge with vineger: and put it about an Hyssope stalke, and put it to his mouth.
30 Da nun Jesus den Essig genommen hatte, sprach er: Es ist vollbracht! und neigte das Haupt und verschied.
Nowe when Iesus had receiued of the vineger, he saide, It is finished, and bowed his head, and gaue vp the ghost.
31 Die Juden aber, dieweil es der Rüsttag war, daß nicht die Leichname am Kreuze blieben den Sabbat über (denn desselben Sabbats Tag war groß), baten sie Pilatus, daß ihre Beine gebrochen und sie abgenommen würden.
The Iewes then (because it was the Preparation, that the bodies should not remaine vpon the crosse on the Sabbath day: for that Sabbath was an hie day) besought Pilate that their legges might be broken, and that they might be taken downe.
32 Da kamen die Kriegsknechte und brachen dem ersten die Beine und dem andern, der mit ihm gekreuzigt war.
Then came the souldiers and brake the legges of the first, and of the other, which was crucified with Iesus.
33 Als sie aber zu Jesus kamen und sahen, daß er schon gestorben war, brachen sie ihm die Beine nicht;
But when they came to Iesus, and saw that he was dead alreadie, they brake not his legges.
34 sondern der Kriegsknechte einer öffnete seine Seite mit einem Speer, und alsbald ging Blut und Wasser heraus.
But one of the souldiers with a speare pearced his side, and foorthwith came there out blood and water.
35 Und der das gesehen hat, der hat es bezeugt, und sein Zeugnis ist wahr; und dieser weiß, daß er die Wahrheit sagt, auf daß auch ihr glaubet.
And he that sawe it, bare recorde, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might beleeue it.
36 Denn solches ist geschehen, daß die Schrift erfüllet würde: “Ihr sollt ihm kein Bein zerbrechen.”
For these things were done, that the Scripture shoulde be fulfilled, Not a bone of him shalbe broken.
37 Und abermals spricht eine andere Schrift: “Sie werden sehen, in welchen sie gestochen haben.”
And againe an other Scripture saith, They shall see him whom they haue thrust through.
38 Darnach bat den Pilatus Joseph von Arimathia, der ein Jünger Jesu war, doch heimlich aus Furcht vor den Juden, daß er möchte abnehmen den Leichnam Jesu. Und Pilatus erlaubte es. Da kam er und nahm den Leichnam Jesu herab.
And after these things, Ioseph of Arimathea (who was a disciple of Iesus, but secretly for feare of the Iewes) besought Pilate that he might take downe the bodie of Iesus. And Pilate gaue him licence. He came then and tooke Iesus body.
39 Es kam aber auch Nikodemus, der vormals in der Nacht zu Jesus gekommen war, und brachte Myrrhe und Aloe untereinander bei hundert Pfunden.
And there came also Nicodemus (which first came to Iesus by night) and brought of myrrhe and aloes mingled together about an hundreth pound.
40 Da nahmen sie den Leichnam Jesu und banden ihn in leinene Tücher mit den Spezereien, wie die Juden pflegen zu begraben.
Then tooke they the body of Iesus, and wrapped it in linnen clothes with the odours, as the maner of the Iewes is to burie.
41 Es war aber an der Stätte, da er gekreuzigt ward, ein Garten, und im Garten ein neues Grab, in welches niemand je gelegt war.
And in that place where Iesus was crucified, was a garden, and in the garden a newe sepulchre, wherein was neuer man yet laid.
42 Dahin legten sie Jesum um des Rüsttages willen der Juden, dieweil das Grab nahe war.
There then laide they Iesus, because of the Iewes Preparation day, for the sepulchre was neere.
