Joel 3

1 Denn siehe, in den Tagen und zur selben Zeit, wann ich das Gefängnis Juda's und Jerusalems wenden werde,

For lo! in those days, and at that time, —when I shall bring back the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem,

2 will ich alle Heiden zusammenbringen und will sie in das Tal Josaphat hinabführen und will mit ihnen daselbst rechten wegen meines Volks und meines Erbteils Israel, weil sie es unter die Heiden zerstreut und sich mein Land geteilt

Then will I gather all the nations, and bring them down into the Vale of Jehoshaphat, —and will enter into judgment with them there, concerning my people, and mine inheritance Israel, whom they scattered among the nations, and, my land, they apportioned;

3 und das Los um mein Volk geworfen haben; und haben die Knaben um Speise gegeben und die Mägdlein um Wein verkauft und vertrunken.

And, for my people, they cast lots, —and gave a boy for a harlot, and a girl sold they for wine—and drank.

4 Und ihr von Tyrus und Sidon und alle Kreise der Philister, was habt ihr mit mir zu tun? Wollt ihr mir trotzen? Wohlan, trotzet ihr mir, so will ich's euch eilend und bald wiedervergelten auf euren Kopf.

Moreover also, what have, ye, to do with me, O Tyre and Zidon, and all the circuit of Palestine? A recompense, are ye paying back unto me? But, though ye should make a recompense unto me, swiftly, speedily, would I return your recompense upon your own head.

5 Die ihr mein Silber und Gold und meine schönen Kleinode genommen und in eure Tempel gebracht habt,

Because, my silver and my gold, ye took away, —and, my richly beautiful things, carried ye into your temples;

6 dazu auch die Kinder Juda und die Kinder Jerusalems verkauft habt den Griechen, auf daß ihr sie ja fern von ihren Grenzen brächtet.

And, the sons of Judah and the sons of Jerusalem, ye sold to the sons of Greece, —that they might be far removed from their own boundary.

7 Siehe, ich will sie erwecken aus dem Ort, dahin ihr sie verkauft habt, und will's euch vergelten auf euren Kopf.

Behold me! rousing them up out of the place whither ye sold them, —So will I bring back your dealing upon your own head.

8 Und will eure Söhne und Töchter wiederum verkaufen durch die Kinder Juda; die sollen sie denen in Reicharabien, einem Volk in fernen Landen, verkaufen; denn der HERR hat's geredet.

And I will sell your sons and your daughters into the hand of the sons of Judah, and they will sell them to Sabeans, unto a nation afar off, —for, Yahweh, hath spoken.

9 Rufet dies aus unter den Heiden! Heiliget einen Streit! Erwecket die Starken! Lasset herzukommen und hinaufziehen alle Kriegsleute!

Proclaim ye this, among the nations, Hallow a war, rouse the mighty ones, let them draw near, come up, all the men of war!

10 Macht aus euren Pflugscharen Schwerter und aus euren Sicheln Spieße! der Schwache spreche: Ich bin stark!

Beat your plough-shares into swords, and your pruning-hooks into spears, —as for the weak, let him say, mighty, I am.

11 Rottet euch und kommt her, alle Heiden um und um, und versammelt euch! Daselbst führe du hernieder, HERR, deine Starken!

Give help—and come in, all ye nations on every side, and gather yourselves together, —Thither, bring down, O Yahweh, thy mighty ones!

12 Die Heiden werden sich aufmachen und heraufkommen zum Tal Josaphat; denn daselbst will ich sitzen, zu richten alle Heiden um und um.

Let the nations, be roused, and come up, into the Vale of Jehoshaphat, —for, there, will I sit to judge all the nations, on every side.

13 Schlagt die Sichel an, denn die Ernte ist reif; kommt herab, denn die Kelter ist voll, und die Kufen laufen über; denn ihre Bosheit ist groß.

Thrust ye in the vintage knife, for, grown ripe, is the vintage, —Go in, tread down, for full is the winepress, flow over do the vats, for abundant is their wickedness.

14 Es werden Haufen über Haufen Volks sein im Tal des Urteils; denn des HERRN Tag ist nahe im Tal des Urteils.

Multitudes, multitudes, in the vale of strict decision, —for near is the day of Yahweh, in the vale of strict decision.

15 Sonne und Mond werden sich verfinstern, und die Sterne werden ihren Schein verhalten.

The sun and the moon, have become dark, —and, the stars, have withdrawn their shining,

16 Und der HERR wird aus Zion brüllen und aus Jerusalem seine Stimme lassen hören, daß Himmel und Erde beben wird. Aber der HERR wird seinem Volk eine Zuflucht sein und eine Feste den Kindern Israel.

And, Yahweh, out of Zion, will roar, and, out of Jerusalem, will utter his voice, and the heavens and the earth, shall tremble, —but, Yahweh, shall be a shelter to his people, and a refuge to the sons of Israel.

17 Und ihr sollt es erfahren, daß ich, der HERR, euer Gott, zu Zion auf meinem heiligen Berge wohne. Alsdann wird Jerusalem heilig sein und kein Fremder mehr durch sie wandeln.

So shall ye know that, I, Yahweh, am your God, making my habitation in Zion my holy mountain, —So shall, Jerusalem, be, holy, and, foreigners, shall pass through her no more.

18 Zur selben Zeit werden die Berge von süßem Wein triefen und die Hügel von Milch fließen, und alle Bäche in Juda werden voll Wasser gehen; und wird eine Quelle vom Hause des HERRN herausgehen, die wird das Tal Sittim wässern.

And it shall come to pass in that day, that the mountains shall drip sweet wine, and the hills shall flow down with milk, and, all the channels of Judah, shall flow down with waters, —and, a spring, out of the house of Yahweh, shall come forth, and shall water the torrent-valley of the acacias.

19 Aber Ägypten soll wüst werden und Edom eine wüste Einöde um den Frevel, an den Kindern Juda begangen, daß sie unschuldig Blut in ihrem Lande vergossen haben.

Egypt, to a desolation, shall be turned, and, Edom, to a desert most desolate, shall be changed, —because of the violence done to the sons of Judah, in that they shed innocent blood in their land.

20 Aber Juda soll ewiglich bewohnt werden und Jerusalem für und für.

But, Judah, age-abidingly, shall remain, and, Jerusalem, to generation after generation.

21 Und ich will ihr Blut nicht ungerächt lassen. Und der HERR wird wohnen zu Zion.

And I will free from their blood-guiltiness them whom I had not freed, —for, Yahweh, is about to make his habitation in Zion.
