Hesekiel 37
1 Und des HERRN Wort kam über mich, und er führte mich hinaus im Geist des HERRN und stellte mich auf ein weites Feld, das voller Totengebeine lag.
One day Yahweh gave me another vision. In the vision I felt the power [MTY] of God on me, and by his Spirit he took me to the middle of a valley. It was full of bones [of people who had been killed].
2 Und er führte mich allenthalben dadurch. Und siehe, des Gebeins lag sehr viel auf dem Feld; und siehe, sie waren sehr verdorrt.
He led me to walk back and forth among those bones. I saw that there were very many bones there, bones that were very dry.
3 Und er sprach zu mir: Du Menschenkind, meinst du auch, daß diese Gebeine wieder lebendig werden? Und ich sprach: Herr HERR, das weißt du wohl.
He asked me, “You human, [do you think that] these bones can become living [people again]?” I replied, “Yahweh my Lord, only you know [if that can happen].”
4 Und er sprach zu mir: Weissage von diesen Gebeinen und sprich zu ihnen: Ihr verdorrten Gebeine, höret des HERRN Wort!
Then he said to me, “Prophesy to these bones. Say to them, ‘You dry bones, listen to what Yahweh says.
5 So spricht der Herr HERR von diesen Gebeinen: Siehe, ich will einen Odem in euch bringen, daß ihr sollt lebendig werden.
This is what Yahweh the Lord says to you bones: I will put my breath into each of you, and you will become alive again.
6 Ich will euch Adern geben und Fleisch lassen über euch wachsen und euch mit Haut überziehen und will euch Odem geben, daß ihr wieder lebendig werdet, und ihr sollt erfahren, daß ich der HERR bin.
I will fasten tendons to your bones, and cause your bones to be covered with flesh. I will cover the flesh with skin. Then I will breathe into you, and you will become alive. When that happens, you will know that I, Yahweh, [have the power to do what I say that I will do].’”
7 Und ich weissagte, wie mir befohlen war; und siehe, da rauschte es, als ich weissagte, und siehe, es regte sich, und die Gebeine kamen wieder zusammen, ein jegliches zu seinem Gebein.
So I spoke to the bones what Yahweh commanded me to speak. As I was speaking, there was a noise, a rattling sound, and the bones came together, bones joining to each other.
8 Und ich sah, und siehe, es wuchsen Adern und Fleisch darauf, und sie wurden mit Haut überzogen; es war aber noch kein Odem in ihnen.
While I was looking, I saw tendons fastening to them and flesh covering them, and then skin covered the flesh, but they did not breathe.
9 Und er sprach zu mir: Weissage zum Winde; weissage, du Menschenkind, und sprich zum Wind: So spricht der Herr HERR: Wind komm herzu aus den vier Winden und blase diese Getöteten an, daß sie wieder lebendig werden!
Then he said to me, “You human, prophesy to the wind. Say to the wind, ‘Wind [APO], Yahweh says to you, blow from all four directions. Breathe into these people who have been killed, in order that they can become alive again!’”
10 Und ich weissagte, wie er mir befohlen hatte. Da kam Odem in sie, und sie wurden wieder lebendig und richteten sich auf ihre Füße. Und ihrer war ein großes Heer.
So I said what he commanded me to say, and then breath entered them. They became alive and stood up, like a huge army.
11 Und er sprach zu mir: Du Menschenkind, diese Gebeine sind das ganze Haus Israel. Siehe, jetzt sprechen sie: Unsere Gebeine sind verdorrt, und unsere Hoffnung ist verloren, und es ist aus mit uns.
Then he said to me, “You human, these bones represent all the Israeli people [MTY]. The people say, ‘[It is as though] our bones are dried up; there are no more good things that we can (hope for/confidently expect to happen to us); our nation is destroyed/finished.’
12 Darum weissage und sprich zu ihnen: So spricht der Herr HERR: Siehe, ich will eure Gräber auftun und will euch, mein Volk, aus denselben herausholen und euch ins Land Israel bringen;
So prophesy and say to them, ‘This is what Yahweh the Lord says: My people, [it will be as though] I will open your graves and cause your corpses to become alive again. I will bring you back to Israel.
13 und ihr sollt erfahren, daß ich der HERR bin, wenn ich eure Gräber geöffnet und euch, mein Volk, aus denselben gebracht habe.
Then, what that happens, you my people will know that I, Yahweh the Lord, [have the power to do what I say that I will do].
14 Und ich will meinen Geist in euch geben, daß ihr wieder leben sollt, und will euch in euer Land setzen, und sollt erfahren, daß ich der HERR bin. Ich rede es und tue es auch, spricht der HERR.
I will put my Spirit in you, and [it will be as though] you will become alive again, and I will enable you to live in your own land again. Then you will know that it is I, Yahweh, who said [that it would happen] and who has caused it to happen. That is what I, Yahweh, declare.’”
15 Und des HERRN Wort geschah zu mir und sprach:
Yahweh gave me [another] message. He said,
16 Du Menschenkind, nimm dir ein Holz und schreibe darauf: Des Juda und der Kinder Israel, seiner Zugetanen. Und nimm noch ein Holz und schreibe darauf: Des Joseph, nämlich das Holz Ephraims, und des ganzen Hauses Israel, seiner Zugetanen.
“You human, take a piece of wood and write on it, ‘This represents Judah and all the tribes of Judah.’ Then take another piece of wood and write on it, ‘This represents Israel and all the tribes of Israel.’
17 Und tue eins zum andern zusammen, daß es ein Holz werde in deiner Hand.
Then join them together to become [as though they were] one piece of wood in your hand.
18 So nun dein Volk zu dir wird sagen und sprechen: Willst du uns nicht zeigen, was du damit meinst?
When your fellow Israelis ask you, ‘What does (this action/what you just did) mean?’,
19 So sprich zu ihnen: So spricht der Herr HERR: Siehe, ich will das Holz Josephs, welches ist in Ephraims Hand, nehmen mit samt seinen Zugetanen, den Stämmen Israels, und will sie zu dem Holz Juda's tun und ein Holz daraus machen, und sollen eins in meiner Hand sein.
tell them, ‘This is what Yahweh the Lord says: One of the pieces of wood in my hand represents Israel and all the tribes of Israel. I am joining it to the piece of wood that represents Judah, to form one piece of wood in his hand.’
20 Und sollst also die Hölzer, darauf du geschrieben hast, in deiner Hand halten, daß sie zusehen,
Then, [you human], hold up the pieces of wood that you have written on, in order that the people can see them.
21 und sollst zu ihnen sagen: So spricht der Herr HERR: Siehe, ich will die Kinder Israel holen aus den Heiden, dahin sie gezogen sind, und will sie allenthalben sammeln und will sie wieder in ihr Land bringen
Say to the people, ‘This is what Yahweh the Lord says: I will take you Israeli people out of the countries to which you have been forced to go. I will gather you from all those nations and bring you back to your own land.
22 und will ein Volk aus ihnen machen im Lande auf den Bergen Israels, und sie sollen allesamt einen König haben und sollen nicht mehr zwei Völker noch in zwei Königreiche zerteilt sein;
And I will cause you to again be one nation in that land, on the mountains in Israel. And there will be one king to rule over all of you. Never again will you be two nations or divided into two kingdoms.
23 sollen sich auch nicht mehr verunreinigen mit ihren Götzen und Greueln und allerlei Sünden. Ich will ihnen heraushelfen aus allen Örtern, da sie gesündigt haben, und will sie reinigen; und sie sollen mein Volk sein, und ich will ihr Gott sein.
No longer will you (defile yourselves/make yourselves unacceptable to me) by [worshiping] idols and disgusting statues [of your gods], because I will enable you to quit your sinful behavior and to stop rejecting me. You will be my people, and I will be your God.
24 Und mein Knecht David soll ihr König und ihrer aller einiger Hirte sein. Und sie sollen wandeln in meinen Rechten und meine Gebote halten und darnach tun.
[Someone who will be like] [MET] [King] David who served [me well] will be the king [of your descendants], and [it will be as though] [MET] he will be their shepherd. They will carefully obey all my laws [DOU].
25 Und sie sollen wieder in dem Lande wohnen, das ich meinem Knecht Jakob gegeben habe, darin ihre Väter gewohnt haben. Sie sollen darin wohnen ewiglich, und mein Knecht David soll ewiglich ihr Fürst sein.
They will live in the land that I gave to Jacob, who also served [me well]; they will live in the land where your ancestors lived. They and their children and their grandchildren will live there forever, and [the one who will be like] [MET] [King] David will be their king forever.
26 Und ich will mit ihnen einen Bund des Friedens machen, das soll ein ewiger Bund sein mit ihnen; und will sie erhalten und mehren, und mein Heiligtum soll unter ihnen sein ewiglich.
I will make a peace agreement with them; it will be an agreement that will endure forever. I will again give them that land and cause their population to increase. And I will put my temple among them forever.
27 Und ich will unter ihnen wohnen und will ihr Gott sein, und sie sollen mein Volk sein,
The place where I will live will be among them; I will be their God and they will be my people.
28 daß auch die Heiden sollen erfahren, daß ich der HERR bin, der Israel heilig macht, wenn mein Heiligtum ewiglich unter ihnen sein wird.
Then, when my temple is forever there among them, the people of other nations will know that I, Yahweh, have caused the Israeli people to be set apart [to belong to me].’”
