Hesekiel 16
1 Und des HERRN Wort geschah zu mir und sprach:
And the word of Jehovah came to me, saying:
2 Du Menschenkind offenbare der Stadt Jerusalem ihre Greuel und sprich:
Son of man, cause Jerusalem to know her abominations,
3 So spricht der Herr HERR zu Jerusalem: Dein Geschlecht und deine Geburt ist aus der Kanaaniter Lande, dein Vater aus den Amoritern und deine Mutter aus den Hethitern.
and say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah to Jerusalem: Thine origin and thy nativity were of the land of Canaan. Thy father was an Amorite, and thy mother a Hittite.
4 Deine Geburt ist also gewesen: Dein Nabel, da du geboren wurdest, ist nicht verschnitten; so hat man dich auch nicht in Wasser gebadet, daß du sauber würdest, noch mit Salz abgerieben noch in Windeln gewickelt.
And as to thy nativity, in the day thou wast born thy navel was not cut, neither wast thou washed in water so as to be cleansed. Thou wast not sprinkled with salt, nor wrapped in swaddling-clothes.
5 Denn niemand jammerte dein, daß er sich über dich hätte erbarmt und der Stücke eins dir erzeigt, sondern du wurdest aufs Feld geworfen. Also verachtet war deine Seele, da du geboren warst.
No eye pitied thee, to do to thee any of these things, to have compassion upon thee; but thou wast cast out into the open field, so as to loathe thyself, on the day thou wast born.
6 Ich aber ging vor dir vorüber und sah dich in deinem Blut liegen und sprach zu dir, da du so in deinem Blut lagst: Du sollst leben!
And when I passed by thee, and saw thee in danger of being trodden under foot in thy blood, I said to thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live! yea, I said to thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live!
7 Und habe dich erzogen und lassen groß werden wie ein Gewächs auf dem Felde; und warst nun gewachsen und groß und schön geworden. Deine Brüste waren gewachsen und hattest schon lange Haare; aber du warst noch nackt und bloß.
I caused thee to increase like the plant of the field, and thou didst grow, and become tall, and didst attain to distinguished charms. Thy breasts swelled, and thy hair grew, whereas thou wast naked and bare.
8 Und ich ging vor dir vorüber und sah dich an; und siehe, es war die Zeit, um dich zu werben. Da breitete ich meinen Mantel über dich und bedeckte deine Blöße. Und ich gelobte dir's und begab mich mit dir in einen Bund, spricht der Herr HERR, daß du solltest mein sein.
And when I passed by thee, and saw thee, behold, it was thy time, the time of love. And I spread my skirt over thee and covered thy nakedness; and I swore to thee, and entered into covenant with thee, and thou becamest mine.
9 Und ich badete dich im Wasser und wusch dich von all deinem Blut und salbte dich mit Balsam
Then I washed thee with water, yea, I thoroughly washed away thy blood from thee, and I anointed thee with oil.
10 und kleidete dich mit gestickten Kleidern und zog dir Schuhe von feinem Leder an; ich gab dir köstliche leinene Kleider und seidene Schleier
I clothed thee also with broidered work, and gave thee shoes of seal's skin, and wrapped thee about with fine linen, and covered thee with silk.
11 und zierte dich mit Kleinoden und legte dir Geschmeide an deine Arme und Kettlein an deinen Hals
And I decked thee with ornaments, and put bracelets upon thy hands, and a chain upon thy neck.
12 und gab dir ein Haarband an deine Stirn und Ohrenringe an deine Ohren und eine schöne Krone auf dein Haupt.
And I put a jewel in thy nostril, and ear-rings in thine ears, and a beautiful crown upon thy head.
13 So warst du geziert mit eitel Gold und Silber und gekleidet mit eitel Leinwand, Seide und Gesticktem. Du aßest auch eitel Semmel, Honig und Öl und warst überaus schön und bekamst das Königreich.
Thus wast thou adorned with gold and silver, and thy raiment was of fine linen, and silk, and broidered work. Fine flour and honey and oil didst thou eat; and thou wast exceedingly beautiful, and didst prosper so as to become a queen.
14 Und dein Ruhm erscholl unter die Heiden deiner Schöne halben, welche ganz vollkommen war durch den Schmuck, so ich an dich gehängt hatte, spricht der Herr HERR.
And thy renown went forth among the nations for thy beauty; for it was perfect through my comeliness, which I had put upon thee, saith the Lord Jehovah.
15 Aber du verließest dich auf deine Schöne; und weil du so gerühmt warst, triebst du Hurerei, also daß du dich einem jeglichen, wer vorüberging, gemein machtest und tatest seinen Willen.
But thou didst trust in thy beauty, and didst play the harlot because of thy renown, and didst lavish thy fornications on every one that passed by; his was it.
16 Und nahmst von deinen Kleidern und machtest dir bunte Altäre daraus und triebst deine Hurerei darauf, wie nie geschehen ist noch geschehen wird.
And of thy garments thou didst take, and didst make thee high places, spread with divers colors, and didst play the harlot thereon, the like things to which shall not come to pass, neither shall they be.
17 Du nahmst auch dein schönes Gerät, das ich dir von meinem Gold und Silber gegeben hatte, und machtest dir Mannsbilder daraus und triebst deine Hurerei mit ihnen.
Thou didst take also thy fair jewels of my gold and my silver, which I gave thee, and didst make to thyself images of men, and didst commit fornication with them;
18 Und nahmst deine bestickten Kleider und bedecktest sie damit und mein Öl und Räuchwerk legtest du ihnen vor.
and thou didst take thy broidered garments and cover them; and thou didst set mine oil and mine incense before them.
19 Meine Speise, die ich dir zu essen gab, Semmel, Öl, Honig, legtest du ihnen vor zum süßen Geruch. Ja es kam dahin, spricht der Herr HERR,
My food also, which I gave thee, fine flour and oil and honey, wherewith I fed thee, thou didst set it before them with a sweet savor; even thus it was, saith the Lord Jehovah.
20 daß du nahmst deine Söhne und Töchter, die du mir geboren hattest, und opfertest sie denselben zu fressen. Meinst du denn, daß es eine Geringes sei um deine Hurerei,
Moreover thou didst take thy sons and thy daughters, whom thou didst bear to me, and these didst thou sacrifice to them to be devoured. Was it not enough for thee to commit fornication,
21 daß du meine Kinder schlachtest und läßt sie denselben verbrennen?
that thou didst slay my children, and deliver them up to cause them to pass through the fire to them?
22 Und in allen deinen Greueln und Hurerei hast du nie gedacht an die Zeit deiner Jugend, wie bloß und nackt du warst und in deinem Blut lagst.
And in all thine abominations and thy fornications, thou didst not remember the days of thy youth, when thou wast naked and bare, and in danger of being trampled under foot in thy blood.
23 Über alle diese deine Bosheit (ach weh dir, weh dir! spricht der Herr HERR)
And it came to pass, after all thy wickedness, (woe, woe to thee! saith the Lord Jehovah, )
24 bautest du dir Götzenkapellen und machtest dir Altäre auf allen Gassen;
that thou didst build for thee an arched place, and make thee a high place in every street;
25 und vornan auf allen Straßen bautest du deine Altäre und machtest deine Schöne zu eitel Greuel; du spreiztest deine Beine gegen alle, so vorübergingen, und triebst große Hurerei.
at every head of the way didst thou build thy high place, and didst make thy beauty to be abhorred, and didst open thy feet to every one that passed by, and didst multiply thy fornications.
26 Erstlich triebst du Hurerei mit den Kindern Ägyptens, deinen Nachbarn, die großes Fleisch hatten, und triebst große Hurerei, mich zu reizen.
Thou hast also committed fornication with the Egyptians, thy neighbors, having great members, and hast multiplied thy fornications to provoke me to anger.
27 Ich aber streckte meine Hand aus wider dich und brach dir an deiner Nahrung ab und übergab dich in den Willen deiner Feinde, der Töchter der Philister, welche sich schämten vor deinem verruchten Wesen.
Therefore, behold, I have stretched out my hand against thee, and have diminished thine allowance, and delivered thee to the will of them that hate thee, the daughters of the Philistines, who are ashamed of thy lewd way.
28 Darnach triebst du Hurerei mit den Kindern Assur und konntest des nicht satt werden; ja, da du mit ihnen Hurerei getrieben hattest und des nicht satt werden konntest,
Thou hast also committed fornication with the Assyrians, because thou wast insatiable; yea, thou hast played the harlot with them, and yet couldst not be satisfied.
29 machtest du der Hurerei noch mehr bis ins Krämerland Chaldäa; doch konntest du damit auch nicht satt werden.
Thou hast also multiplied thy fornication with the land of Canaan, even to Chaldaea; and yet wast thou not satisfied therewith.
30 Wie soll ich dir doch dein Herz beschneiden, spricht der Herr HERR, weil du solche Werke tust einer großen Erzhure,
How faint was thy heart, saith the Lord Jehovah, that thou didst all those things which an imperious whorish wife doeth,
31 damit daß du deine Götzenkapellen bautest vornan auf allen Straßen und deine Altäre machtest auf allen Gassen? Dazu warst du nicht wie eine andere Hure, die man muß mit Geld kaufen.
in that thou didst build thine arched place at the head of every way, and make thy high place in every street! Thou wast not like a harlot, who scoffeth at her hire,
32 Du Ehebrecherin, die anstatt ihres Mannes andere zuläßt!
but as an adulterous wife, that taketh strangers instead of her husband.
33 Denn allen andern Huren gibt man Geld; du aber gibst allen deinen Buhlern Geld zu und schenkst ihnen, daß sie zu dir kommen allenthalben und mit dir Hurerei treiben.
To all women that commit fornication men give a reward; but thou gavest thy gifts to all thy lovers, and hiredst them to come to thee from every side to commit fornication with thee.
34 Und findet sich an dir das Widerspiel vor andern Weibern mit deiner Hurerei, weil man dir nicht nachläuft, sondern du Geld zugibst, und man dir nicht Geld zugibt; also treibst du das Widerspiel.
Thou wast the reverse of other women in thy fornications. None followed after thee to commit fornication, but thou gavest the reward, and no reward was given thee, —therefore thou wast the reverse.
35 Darum, du Hure, höre des HERRN Wort!
Wherefore, O harlot, hear the word of Jehovah!
36 So spricht der Herr HERR: Weil du denn so milde Geld zugibst und deine Blöße durch deine Hurerei gegen deine Buhlen aufdeckst und gegen alle Götzen deiner Greuel und vergießt das Blut deiner Kinder, welche du ihnen opferst:
Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because thy treasure was poured out, and thy nakedness discovered for fornication before thy lovers, and all thine abominable idols, and because of the blood of thy children, which thou didst give to them,
37 darum, siehe, will ich sammeln alle deine Buhlen, welchen du wohl gefielst, samt allen, die du für deine Freunde hältst, zu deinen Feinden und will sie beide wider dich sammeln allenthalben und will ihnen deine Blöße aufdecken, daß sie deine Blöße ganz sehen sollen.
therefore, behold, I will gather all thy lovers, to whom thou wast pleasing, all them that thou hast loved, with all them that thou hast hated, I will gather them against thee round about, and will uncover thy nakedness to them, that they may see all thy nakedness.
38 Und will das Recht der Ehebrecherinnen und Blutvergießerinnen über dich gehen und dein Blut vergießen lassen mit Grimm und Eifer.
And I will judge thee as women that break wedlock and shed blood are judged, and I will cause thy blood to flow in fury and jealousy.
39 Und will dich in ihre Hände geben, daß sie deine Kapellen abbrechen und deine Altäre umreißen und dir deine Kleider ausziehen und dein schönes Gerät dir nehmen und dich nackt und bloß sitzen lassen.
And I will give thee into their hand, and they shall throw down thine arched place, and break down thy high places. They shall also strip thee of thy clothes, and leave thee naked and bare.
40 Und sie sollen Haufen Leute über dich bringen, die dich steinigen und mit ihren Schwertern zerhauen
They shall also bring up a company against thee, and they shall stone thee with stones, and thrust thee through with their swords;
41 und deine Häuser mit Feuer verbrennen und dir dein Recht tun vor den Augen vieler Weiber. Also will ich deiner Hurerei ein Ende machen, daß du nicht mehr sollst Geld noch zugeben,
and they shall burn thine houses with fire, and execute judgments upon thee in the sight of many women; and I will cause thee to cease from playing the harlot, and thou shalt give hire no more.
42 und will meinen Mut an dir kühlen und meinen Eifer an dir sättigen, daß ich ruhe und nicht mehr zürnen müsse.
So will I make my fury toward thee to rest, and my jealousy shall depart from thee; and I will be quiet, and will be no more angry.
43 Darum daß du nicht gedacht hast an die Zeit deiner Jugend, sondern mich mit diesem allem gereizt, darum will ich auch dir all dein Tun auf den Kopf legen, spricht der Herr HERR, wiewohl ich damit nicht getan habe nach dem Laster in deinen Greueln.
Because thou hast not remembered the days of thy youth, but hast raged against me in all these things, therefore I also will recompense thy way upon thy head, saith the Lord Jehovah, so that thou shalt not commit this wickedness in addition to all thy abominations.
44 Siehe, alle die, so Sprichwort pflegen zu üben, werden von dir dies Sprichwort sagen: “Die Tochter ist wie die Mutter.”
Behold, all they that use proverbs shall utter this proverb concerning thee: “As the mother, so the daughter.”
45 Du bist deiner Mutter Tochter, welche Mann und Kinder von sich stößt, und bist eine Schwester deiner Schwestern, die ihre Männer und Kinder von sich stoßen. Eure Mutter ist eine von den Hethitern und euer Vater ein Amoriter.
Thou art the daughter of thy mother, that loathed her husband and her children; and thou art the sister of thy sisters, that loathed their husbands and their children; your mother was a Hittite, and your father an Amorite.
46 Samaria ist dein große Schwester mit ihren Töchtern, die dir zur Linken wohnt; und Sodom ist deine kleine Schwester mit ihren Töchtern, die dir zur Rechten wohnt;
And thine elder sister is Samaria, with her daughters, that dwelleth at thy left hand; and thy younger sister, that dwelleth at thy right hand, is Sodom, with her daughters.
47 wiewohl du dennoch nicht gelebt hast nach ihrem Wesen noch getan nach ihren Greueln. Es fehlt nicht viel, daß du es ärger gemacht hast denn sie in allem deinem Wesen.
Yet thou hast not walked in their ways, nor done according to their abominations: that was disdained by you, as a very little thing; thou hast been more corrupt than they in all thy ways.
48 So wahr ich lebe, spricht der Herr HERR, Sodom, deine Schwester, samt ihren Töchtern hat nicht so getan wie du und deine Töchter.
As I live, saith the Lord Jehovah, Sodom, thy sister, hath not done, she nor her daughters, as thou hast done, thou and thy daughters.
49 Siehe, das war deiner Schwester Sodom Missetat: Hoffart und alles vollauf und guter Friede, den sie und ihre Töchter hatten; aber den Armen und Dürftigen halfen sie nicht,
Behold, this was the iniquity of Sodom, thy sister: in pride, superabundance, and careless ease did she live, she and her daughters, and the hand of the poor and needy she did not strengthen;
50 sondern waren stolz und taten Greuel vor mir; darum ich sie auch weggetan habe, da ich begann dareinzusehen.
and they were haughty, and committed abomination before me; therefore I took them away when I saw it.
51 So hat auch Samaria nicht die Hälfte deiner Sünden getan; sondern du hast deiner Greuel so viel mehr als sie getan, daß du deine Schwester fromm gemacht hast gegen alle deine Greuel die du getan hast.
Neither hath Samaria committed half of thy sins; but thou hast multiplied thine abominations more than they, and hast justified thy sisters in all thine abominations which thou hast done.
52 So trage auch nun deine Schande, die du deiner Schwester zuerkannt hast. Durch deine Sünden, in welchen du größere Greuel denn sie getan hast, machst du sie frömmer, denn du bist. So sei nun auch du schamrot und trage deine Schande, daß du deine Schwester fromm gemacht hast.
Now, therefore, bear thou thy shame, to which thou hast condemned thy sisters, since by thy sins which thou hast committed, more abominable than they, they are more righteous than thou. Yea, be thou confounded and bear thy shame, in that thou hast justified thy sisters.
53 Ich will aber ihr Gefängnis wenden, nämlich das Gefängnis dieser Sodom und ihrer Töchter und das Gefängnis dieser Samaria und ihrer Töchter und das Gefängnis deiner Gefangenen samt ihnen,
Yet I will bring them back from their captivity, even Sodom and her daughters from their captivity, and Samaria and her daughters from their captivity; thee also will I bring back from thy captivity in the midst of them;
54 daß du tragen mußt deine Schande und dich schämst alles dessen, was du getan hast ihnen zum Troste.
that thou mayst bear thy shame, and mayst be confounded on account of all which thou hast done, in that thou art a comfort to them.
55 Und deine Schwestern, diese Sodom und ihre Töchter, sollen wieder werden, wie sie zuvor gewesen sind, und Samaria und ihre Töchter sollen wieder werden, wie sie zuvor gewesen sind; dazu auch du und deine Töchter sollt wieder werden, wie ihr zuvor gewesen seid.
And thy sisters, Sodom and her daughters, shall return to their former estate, and Samaria and her daughters shall return to their former estate, and thou and thy daughters shall return to your former estate.
56 Und wirst nicht mehr die Sodom, deine Schwester rühmen wie zur Zeit deines Hochmuts,
And yet Sodom, thy sister, was not mentioned by thy mouth in the day of thy pride
57 da deine Bosheit noch nicht aufgedeckt war wie zur Zeit, da dich die Töchter Syriens und die Töchter der Philister allenthalben schändeten und verachteten dich um und um,
before thy wickedness was discovered, as in the time of thy reproach from the daughters of Syria, and from all that were round about her, and from the daughters of the Philistines, who despised thee round about.
58 da ihr mußtet eure Laster tragen, spricht der HERR.
Thy wickedness and thine abominations must thou now bear, saith the Lord Jehovah.
59 Denn also spricht der Herr HERR: Ich will dir tun wie du getan hast, daß du den Eid verachtest und brichst den Bund.
For thus saith the Lord Jehovah: I will do to thee as thou hast done, who hast despised the oath and hast broken the covenant.
60 Ich will aber gedenken an meinen Bund, den ich mit dir gemacht habe zur Zeit deiner Jugend, und will mit dir einen ewigen Bund aufrichten.
But I will remember my covenant with thee in the days of thy youth, and I will establish with thee an everlasting covenant.
61 Da wirst du an deine Wege gedenken und dich schämen, wenn du deine großen und kleinen Schwestern zu dir nehmen wirst, die ich dir zu Töchtern geben werde, aber nicht aus deinem Bund.
Then shalt thou remember thy ways, and be ashamed, when thou shalt receive thy sisters, thine elder and thy younger, and I shall give them to thee for daughters, but not by thy observance of thy covenant.
62 Sondern ich will meinen Bund mit dir aufrichten, daß du erfahren sollst, daß ich der HERR sei,
But I will establish my covenant with thee, and thou shalt know that I am Jehovah;
63 auf daß du daran gedenkst und dich schämst und vor Schande nicht mehr deinen Mund auftun dürfest, wenn ich dir alles vergeben werde, was du getan hast, spricht der Herr HERR.
that thou mayst remember and be confounded, and not open thy mouth any more for shame, when I forgive thee all which thou hast done, saith the Lord Jehovah.
