Amos 1
1 Dies ist's, was Amos, der unter den Hirten zu Thekoa war, gesehen hat über Israel zur Zeit Usias, des Königs in Juda, und Jerobeams, des Sohnes Joas, des Königs Israels, zwei Jahre vor dem Erdbeben.
These are the things concerning Israel that Amos, one of the shepherds in Tekoa, received in revelation. He received these things in the days of Uzziah king of Judah, and also in the days of Jeroboam son of Joash king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.
2 Und er sprach: Der HERR wird aus Zion brüllen und seine Stimme aus Jerusalem hören lassen, daß die Auen der Hirten jämmerlich stehen werden und der Karmel oben verdorren wird.
He said, “Yahweh will roar from Zion; he will raise his voice from Jerusalem. The pastures of the shepherds will dry up; the top of Carmel will wither.”
3 So spricht der HERR: Um drei und vier Frevel willen der Damasker will ich ihrer nicht schonen, darum daß sie Gilead mit eisernen Zacken gedroschen haben;
This is what Yahweh says: “For three sins of Damascus, even for four, I will not turn away punishment, because they threshed Gilead with instruments of iron.
4 sondern ich will ein Feuer schicken in das Haus Hasaels, das soll die Paläste Benhadads verzehren.
I will send a fire into the house of Hazael, and it will devour the fortresses of Ben Hadad.
5 Und ich will die Riegel zu Damaskus zerbrechen und die Einwohner auf dem Felde Aven samt dem, der das Zepter hält, aus dem Lusthause ausrotten, daß das Volk in Syrien soll gen Kir weggeführt werden, spricht der HERR.
I will break the gate bars of Damascus and cut off the man who rules over the Valley of Aven, and also the man who holds the scepter in Beth Eden. The people of Aram will go in captivity to Kir,” says Yahweh.
6 So spricht der HERR: Um drei und vier Frevels willen Gazas will ich ihrer nicht schonen, darum daß sie die Gefangenen alle weggeführt und an Edom überantwortet haben;
This is what Yahweh says: “For three sins of Gaza, even for four, I will not turn away punishment, because they carried away captive a whole people, to hand them over to Edom.
7 sondern ich will ein Feuer in die Mauern zu Gaza schicken, das soll ihre Paläste verzehren.
I will send fire on the walls of Gaza, and it will devour her fortresses.
8 Und ich will die Einwohner aus Asdod und den, der das Zepter hält, aus Askalon ausrotten und meine Hand wider Ekron kehren, daß umkommen soll, was von den Philistern noch übrig ist, spricht der Herr HERR.
I will cut off the man who lives in Ashdod and the man who holds the scepter from Ashkelon. I will turn my hand against Ekron, and the rest of the Philistines will perish,” says the Lord Yahweh.
9 So spricht der HERR: Um drei und vier Frevel willen der Stadt Tyrus will ich ihrer nicht schonen, darum daß sie die Gefangenen alle an Edom überantwortet haben und nicht gedacht an den Bund der Brüder;
This is what Yahweh says: “For three sins of Tyre, even for four, I will not turn away punishment, because they had delivered up a whole people to Edom, and they broke their covenant of brotherhood.
10 sondern ich will ein Feuer in die Mauern zu Tyrus schicken, das soll ihre Paläste verzehren.
I will send fire on the walls of Tyre, and it will devour her fortresses.”
11 So spricht der HERR: Um drei und vier Frevel willen Edoms will ich sein nicht schonen, darum daß er seinen Bruder mit dem Schwert verfolgt hat und daß er alles Erbarmen von sich getan und immer wütet in seinem Zorn und seinem Grimm ewig hält;
This is what Yahweh says, “For three sins of Edom, even for four, I will not turn away punishment, because he pursued his brother with the sword and cast off all pity. His anger raged continually, and his wrath lasted forever.
12 sondern ich will ein Feuer schicken gen Theman, das soll die Paläste zu Bozra verzehren.
I will send fire on Teman, and it will devour the palaces of Bozrah.”
13 So spricht der HERR: Um drei und vier Frevel willen der Kinder Ammon will ich ihrer nicht schonen, darum daß sie die Schwangeren in Gilead zerrissen haben, damit sie ihre Grenze weiter machten;
This is what Yahweh says, “For three sins of the people of Ammon, even for four, I will not turn away punishment, because they ripped open the pregnant women of Gilead, that they may enlarge their borders.
14 sondern ich will ein Feuer anzünden in den Mauern Rabbas, das soll ihre Paläste verzehren, wenn man rufen wird zur Zeit des Streits und wenn das Wetter kommen wird zur Zeit des Sturms.
I will light a fire in the walls of Rabbah, and it will devour the palaces, with a shout in the day of battle, with a tempest in the day of the whirlwind.
15 Da wird dann ihr König samt seinen Fürsten gefangen weggeführt werden, spricht der HERR.
Their king will go into captivity, he and his officials together,” says Yahweh.
