2 Chronik 16
1 Im sechsundreißigsten Jahr des Königreichs Asas zog herauf Baesa, der König Israels, wider Juda und baute Rama, daß er Asa, dem König Juda's, wehrte aus und ein zu ziehen.
In the sixe and thirtieth yeere of the reigne of Asa came Baasha king of Israel vp against Iudah, and built Ramah to let none passe out or goe in to Asa king of Iudah.
2 Aber Asa nahm aus dem Schatz im Hause des HERRN und im Hause des Königs Silber und Gold und sandte zu Benhadad, dem König von Syrien, der zu Damaskus wohnte, und ließ ihm sagen:
Then Asa brought out siluer and gold out of the treasures of the house of the Lord, and of the Kings house, and sent to Benhadad King of Aram that dwelt at Damascus, saying,
3 Es ist ein Bund zwischen mir und dir, zwischen meinem Vater und deinem Vater; darum habe ich dir Silber und Gold gesandt, daß du den Bund mit Baesa, dem König Israels fahren läßt, daß er von mir abziehe.
There is a couenant betweene me and thee, and betweene my father and thy father: behold, I haue sent thee siluer and golde: come, breake thy league with Baasha King of Israel that hee may depart from me.
4 Benhadad gehorchte dem König Asa und sandte seine Heerfürsten wider die Städte Israels; die schlugen Ijon, Dan und Abel-Maim und alle Kornstädte Naphthalis.
And Benhadad hearkened vnto King Asa, and sent the captaines of the armies which hee had, against the cities of Israel. And they smote Iion, and Dan, and Abel-maim, and all the store cities of Naphtali.
5 Da Baesa das hörte, ließ er ab Rama zu bauen, und hörte auf von seinem Werk.
And when Baasha heard it, he left building of Ramah, and let his worke cease.
6 Aber der König Asa nahm zu sich das ganze Juda, und sie trugen die Steine und das Holz von Rama, womit Baesa baute; und er baute damit Geba und Mizpa.
Then Asa the King tooke all Iudah, and caryed away the stones of Ramah and the tymber thereof, wherewith Baasha did builde, and he built therewith Geba and Mizpah.
7 Zu der Zeit kam Hanani, der Seher, zu Asa, dem König Juda's, und sprach zu ihm: Daß du dich auf den König von Syrien verlassen hast und hast dich nicht auf den HERRN, deinen Gott, verlassen, darum ist die Macht des Königs von Syrien deiner Hand entronnen.
And at that same time Hanani the Seer came to Asa King of Iudah, and saide vnto him, Because thou hast rested vpon the king of Aram, and not rested in the Lord thy God, therefore is the hoste of the King of Aram escaped out of thine hande.
8 Waren nicht die Mohren und Libyer ein große Menge mit sehr viel Wagen und Reitern? Doch da gab sie der HERR in deine Hand, da du dich auf ihn verließest.
The Ethiopians and the Lubims, were they not a great hoste with charets and horsemen, exceeding many? yet because thou diddest rest vpon the Lord, he deliuered them into thine had.
9 Denn des HERRN Augen schauen alle Lande, daß er stärke die, so von ganzem Herzen an ihm sind. Du hast töricht getan; darum wirst du auch von nun an Kriege haben.
For the eyes of the Lord beholde all the earth to shewe him selfe strong with them that are of perfite heart towarde him: thou hast then done foolishly in this: therefore from henceforth thou shalt haue warres.
10 Aber Asa ward zornig über den Seher und legte ihn ins Gefängnis; denn er grollte ihm über diesem Stück. Und Asa unterdrückte etliche des Volkes zu der Zeit.
Then Asa was wroth with the Seer, and put him into a prison: for he was displeased with him, because of this thing. And Asa oppressed certaine of the people at the same time.
11 Die Geschichten aber Asas, beide, die ersten und die letzten, siehe, die sind geschrieben im Buch von den Königen Juda's und Israels.
And behold, the actes of Asa first and last, loe, they are written in the booke of the Kings of Iudah and Israel.
12 Und Asa ward krank an seinen Füßen im neununddreißigsten Jahr seines Königreichs, und seine Krankheit nahm sehr zu; und er suchte auch in seiner Krankheit den HERRN nicht, sondern die Ärzte.
And Asa in the nine and thirtieth yeere of his reigne was diseased in his feete, and his disease was extreme: yet he sought not the Lord in his disease, but to the Phisicions.
13 Also entschlief Asa mit seinen Vätern und starb im einundvierzigsten Jahr seines Königreichs.
So Asa slept with his fathers, and dyed in the one and fourtieth yeere of his reigne.
14 Und man begrub ihn in seinem Grabe, das er hatte lassen graben in der Stadt Davids. Und sie legten ihn auf sein Lager, welches man gefüllt hatte mit gutem Räuchwerk und allerlei Spezerei, nach der Kunst des Salbenbereiters gemacht, und machten ihm einen großen Brand.
And they buryed him in one of his sepulchres, which he had made for him selfe in the citie of Dauid, and layed him in the bed, which they had filled with sweete odours and diuers kindes of spices made by the arte of the apoticarie: and they burnt odours for him with an exceeding great fire.
