Sacharja 1

1 Im achten Monden des andern Jahrs des Königs Darius geschah dies Wort des HERRN zu Sacharja dem Sohn Berechjas, des Sohns Iddos, dem Propheten, und sprach:

In the eighth month, in the second year of Daryavesh, the word of YHWH came to Zechariah the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo, the prophet, saying,

2 Der HERR ist zornig gewesen über eure Väter.

"YHWH was very displeased with your fathers.

3 Und sprich zu ihnen: So spricht der HERR Zebaoth: Kehret euch zu mir, spricht der HERR Zebaoth, so will ich mich zu euch kehren, spricht der HERR Zebaoth.

Therefore tell them: Thus says YHWH of hosts: 'Return to me,' says YHWH of hosts, 'and I will return to you,' says YHWH of hosts.

4 Seid nicht wie eure Väter, welchen die vorigen Propheten predigten und sprachen: So spricht der HERR Zebaoth: Kehret euch von euren bösen Wegen und von eurem bösen Tun! Aber sie gehorchten nicht und achteten nicht auf mich, spricht der HERR.

Do not be like your fathers, to whom the former prophets proclaimed, saying: Thus says YHWH of hosts, 'Return now from your evil ways, and from your evil doings;' but they did not hear, nor listen to me, says YHWH.

5 Wo sind nun eure Väter und die Propheten? Leben sie auch noch?

Your fathers, where are they? And the prophets, do they live forever?

6 Ist's nicht also, daß meine Worte und meine Rechte, die ich durch meine Knechte, die Propheten, gebot, haben eure Väter getroffen, daß sie sich haben müssen kehren und sagen: Gleichwie der HERR Zebaoth vorhatte, uns zu tun, danach wir gingen und taten, also hat er uns auch getan?

But my words and my statutes, which I commanded by my Spirit to my servants the prophets, did they not overtake your fathers? Then they repented and said, 'Just as YHWH of hosts determined to do to us, according to our ways, and according to our practices, so he has dealt with us.'"

7 Im vierundzwanzigsten Tage des elften Monden, welcher ist der Mond Sebat, im andern Jahr (des Königs) Darius, geschah das Wort des HERRN zu Sacharja, dem Sohn Berechjas, des Sohns Iddos, dem Propheten, und sprach:

On the twenty-fourth day of the eleventh month, which is the month Shebat, in the second year of Daryavesh, the word of YHWH came to Zechariah the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo, the prophet, saying,

8 Ich sah bei der Nacht, und siehe, ein Mann saß auf einem roten Pferde und er hielt unter den Myrten in der Aue; und hinter ihm waren rote, braune und weiße Pferde.

"I had a vision in the night, and look, a man riding on a red horse, and he stood among the myrtle trees that were in a ravine; and behind him there were red, brown, and white horses.

9 Und ich sprach: Mein HERR, wer sind diese? Und der Engel, der mit mir redete, sprach zu mir: Ich will dir zeigen, wer diese sind.

Then I asked, 'My lord, what are these?'" The angel who talked with me said to me, "I will show you what these are."

10 Und der Mann, der unter den Myrten hielt, antwortete und sprach: Diese sind, die der HERR ausgesandt hat, das Land durchzuziehen.

The man who stood among the myrtle trees answered and said to me, "They are the ones YHWH has sent to go back and forth through the earth."

11 Sie aber antworteten dem Engel des HERRN, der unter den Myrten hielt, und sprachen: Wir sind durchs Land gezogen; und siehe, alle Länder sitzen stille.

They reported to the angel of YHWH who stood among the myrtle trees, and said, "We have walked back and forth through the earth, and look, all the earth is at rest and in peace."

12 Da antwortete der Engel des HERRN und sprach: HERR Zebaoth, wie lange willst du denn dich nicht erbarmen über Jerusalem und über die Städte Judas, über welche du zornig bist gewesen diese siebenzig Jahre?

Then the angel of YHWH replied, "YHWH of hosts, how long will you not have mercy on Jerusalem and on the cities of Judah, against which you have had indignation these seventy years?"

13 Und der HERR antwortete dem Engel, der mit mir redete, freundliche Worte und tröstliche Worte.

YHWH answered the angel who talked with me with kind and comforting words.

14 Und der Engel, der mit mir redete, sprach zu mir: Predige und sprich: So spricht der HERR Zebaoth: Ich habe sehr geeifert über Jerusalem und Zion;

So the angel who talked with me said to me, "Proclaim, saying, 'Thus says YHWH of hosts: "I am jealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with a great jealousy.

15 aber ich bin sehr zornig über die stolzen Heiden; denn ich war nur ein wenig zornig, sie aber helfen zum Verderben.

I am very angry with the nations that are at ease; for I was but only a little angry, but they added to the calamity."

16 Darum so spricht der HERR: Ich will mich wieder zu Jerusalem kehren mit Barmherzigkeit, und mein Haus soll drinnen gebauet werden, spricht der HERR Zebaoth; dazu soll die Zimmerschnur in Jerusalem gezogen werden.

Therefore thus says YHWH: "I have returned to Jerusalem with mercy. My house will be built in it," says YHWH of hosts, "and a line shall be stretched forth over Jerusalem."'

17 Und predige weiter und sprich: So spricht der HERR Zebaoth: Es soll meinen Städten wieder wohlgehen, und der HERR wird Zion wieder trösten und wird Jerusalem wieder erwählen.

"Proclaim further, saying, 'Thus says YHWH of hosts: "My cities will again overflow with prosperity, and YHWH will again comfort Zion, and will again choose Jerusalem."'"

18 Und ich hub meine Augen auf und sah, und siehe, da waren vier Hörner.

I lifted up my eyes, and saw, and look, four horns.

19 Und ich sprach zum Engel, der mit mir redete: Wer sind diese? Er sprach zu mir: Es sind die Hörner, die Juda samt dem Israel und Jerusalem zerstreuet haben.

I asked the angel who talked with me, "What are these?" He answered me, "These are the horns which have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem."

20 Und der HERR zeigte mir viel Schmiede.

YHWH showed me four craftsmen.

21 Da sprach ich: Was wollen die machen? Er sprach: Die Hörner, die Juda so zerstreuet haben, daß niemand sein Haupt hat mögen aufheben, dieselbigen abzuschrecken, sind diese kommen, daß sie die Hörner der Heiden abstoßen, welche das Horn haben über das Land Juda gehoben, dasselbige zu zerstreuen.

Then I asked, "What are these coming to do?" He said, "These are the horns which scattered Judah, so that no man lifted up his head; but these have come to terrify them, to cast down the horns of the nations, which lifted up their horn against the land of Judah to scatter it."
