Rut 2
1 Es war auch ein Mann, der Naemi Mannes Freund, von dem Geschlecht Elimelechs, mit Namen Boas, der war ein weidlicher Mann.
And Naomi had a relation of her husband's, a mighty man of wealth, of the family of Elimelech, and his name was Boaz.
2 Und Ruth, die Moabitin, sprach zu Naemi: Laß mich aufs Feld gehen und Ähren auflesen, dem nach, vor dem ich Gnade finde. Sie aber sprach zu ihr: Gehe hin, meine Tochter!
And Ruth the Moabitess said to Naomi, Let me, I pray, go to the field and glean among the ears of corn after [him] in whose sight I shall find favour. And she said to her, Go, my daughter.
3 Sie ging hin, kam und las auf, den Schnittern nach, auf dem Felde. Und es begab sich eben, daß dasselbe Feld war des Boas, der von dem Geschlecht Elimelechs war.
And she went; and she came and gleaned in the fields after the reapers; and she chanced to light on an allotment of Boaz, who was of the family of Elimelech.
4 Und siehe, Boas kam eben von Bethlehem und sprach zu den Schnittern: Der HERR mit euch! Sie antworteten: Der HERR segne dich!
And behold, Boaz came from Bethlehem; and he said to the reapers, Jehovah be with you! And they said to him, Jehovah bless thee!
5 Und Boas sprach zu seinem Knaben, der über die Schnitter gestellet war: Wes ist die Dirne?
And Boaz said to his servant that was set over the reapers, Whose maiden is this?
6 Der Knabe, der über die Schnitter gestellet war, antwortete und sprach: Es ist die Dirne, die Moabitin, die mit Naemi wiederkommen ist von der Moabiter Lande.
And the servant that was set over the reapers answered and said, It is the Moabitish maiden who came back with Naomi out of the fields of Moab;
7 Denn sie sprach: Lieber, laß mich auflesen und sammeln unter den Garben, den Schnittern nach; und ist also kommen und da gestanden von Morgen an bis her und bleibt wenig daheim.
and she said, I pray you, let me glean and gather among the sheaves after the reapers. And she came, and has continued from the morning until now: her sitting in the house has been little as yet.
8 Da sprach Boas zu Ruth: Hörest du es, meine Tochter? Du sollst nicht gehen auf einen andern Acker aufzulesen; und gehe auch nicht von hinnen, sondern halte dich zu meinen Dirnen;
And Boaz said to Ruth, Hearest thou not, my daughter? Go not to glean in another field, neither go from here, but keep here with my maidens.
9 und siehe, wo sie schneiden im Felde, da gehe ihnen nach. Ich habe meinem Knaben geboten, daß dich niemand antaste. Und so dich dürstet, so gehe hin zu dem Gefäß und trinke, da meine Knaben schöpfen.
Let thine eyes be on the field which is being reaped, and go thou after them; have I not charged the young men not to touch thee? And when thou art athirst, go to the vessels and drink of what the young men draw.
10 Da fiel sie auf ihr Angesicht und betete an zur Erde und sprach zu ihm: Womit habe ich die Gnade funden vor deinen Augen, daß du mich erkennest, die ich doch fremd bin?
Then she fell on her face, and bowed herself to the ground, and said to him, Why have I found favour in thine eyes, that thou shouldest regard me, seeing I am a foreigner?
11 Boas antwortete und sprach zu ihr: Es ist mir angesagt alles, was du getan hast an deiner Schwieger nach deines Mannes Tode: daß du verlassen hast deinen Vater und deine Mutter und dein Vaterland und bist zu einem Volk gezogen, das du zuvor nicht kanntest.
And Boaz answered and said to her, It has fully been shewn me, all that thou hast done to thy mother-in-law since the death of thy husband; and how thou hast left thy father and thy mother, and the land of thy nativity, and art come to a people that thou hast not known heretofore.
12 Der HERR vergelte dir deine Tat; und müsse dein Lohn vollkommen sein bei dem HERRN, dem Gott Israels, zu welchem du kommen bist, daß du unter seinen Flügeln Zuversicht hättest.
Jehovah recompense thy work, and let thy reward be full from Jehovah the God of Israel, under whose wings thou art come to take refuge.
13 Sie sprach: Laß mich Gnade vor deinen Augen finden, mein HERR; denn du hast mich getröstet und deine Magd freundlich angesprochen, so ich doch nicht bin als deiner Mägde eine.
And she said, Let me find favour in thine eyes, my lord; for that thou hast comforted me, and for that thou hast spoken kindly to thy handmaid, though I am not like one of thy handmaidens.
14 Boas sprach zu ihr: Wenn's Essenszeit ist, so mache dich hie herzu und iß des Brots und tunke deinen Bissen in den Essig. Und sie setzte sich zur Seite der Schnitter. Er aber legte ihr Sangen vor; und sie aß und ward satt und ließ über.
And Boaz said to her at mealtime, Come hither and eat of the bread, and dip thy morsel in the vinegar. And she sat beside the reapers; and he reached her parched corn, and she ate and was sufficed, and reserved [some].
15 Und da sie sich aufmachte zu lesen, gebot Boas seinen Knaben und sprach: Lasset sie auch zwischen den Garben lesen und beschämet sie nicht!
And when she rose up to glean, Boaz commanded his young men, saying, Let her glean even among the sheaves, and ye shall not reproach her.
16 Auch von den Haufen lasset überbleiben und lasset liegen, daß sie es auflese; und niemand schelte sie drum.
And ye shall also sometimes draw out for her [some ears] out of the handfuls, and leave them that she may glean, and rebuke her not.
17 Also las sie auf dem Felde bis zum Abend und schlug es aus, was sie aufgelesen hatte; und es war bei einem Epha Gerste.
And she gleaned in the field until even, and beat out what she had gleaned; and it was about an ephah of barley.
18 Und sie hub es auf und kam in die Stadt. Und ihre Schwieger sah es, was sie gelesen hatte. Da zog sie hervor und gab ihr, was ihr übriggeblieben war, davon sie satt war worden.
And she took [it] up, and came into the city, and her mother-in-law saw what she had gleaned; and she brought forth and gave to her that which she had reserved after she was sufficed.
19 Da sprach ihre Schwieger zu ihr: Wo hast du heute gelesen, und wo hast du gearbeitet? Gesegnet sei, der dich erkannt hat! Sie aber sagte es ihrer Schwieger, bei wem sie gearbeitet hätte, und sprach: Der Mann, bei dem ich heute gearbeitet habe, heißt Boas.
And her mother-in-law said to her, Where hast thou gleaned to-day? and where hast thou wrought? Blessed be he that did regard thee! And she told her mother-in-law with whom she had wrought, and said, The man's name with whom I wrought to-day is Boaz.
20 Naemi aber sprach zu ihrer Schnur: Gesegnet sei er dem HERRN, denn er hat seine Barmherzigkeit nicht gelassen, beide an den Lebendigen und an den Toten. Und Naemi sprach zu ihr: Der Mann gehöret uns zu und ist unser Erbe.
And Naomi said to her daughter-in-law, Blessed be he of Jehovah, who has not left off his kindness to the living and to the dead! And Naomi said to her, The man is near of kin to us, one of those who have the right of our redemption.
21 Ruth, die Moabitin, sprach: Er sprach auch das zu mir: Du sollst dich zu meinen Knaben halten, bis sie mir alles eingeerntet haben.
And Ruth the Moabitess said, He said to me also, Thou shalt keep with my young men until they have ended all my harvest.
22 Naemi sprach zu Ruth, ihrer Schnur: Es ist besser, meine Tochter, daß du mit seinen Dirnen ausgehest, auf daß nicht jemand dir dreinrede auf einem andern Acker.
And Naomi said to Ruth her daughter-in-law, It is good, my daughter, that thou go out with his maidens, that they meet thee not in any other field.
23 Also hielt sie sich zu den Dirnen Boas, daß sie las, bis daß die Gerstenernte und Weizenernte aus war. Und kam wieder zu ihrer Schwieger.
So she kept with the maidens of Boaz to glean, until the end of the barley-harvest and of the wheat-harvest. And she dwelt with her mother-in-law.
