Offenbarung 18
1 Und danach sah ich einen andern Engel niederfahren vom Himmel, der hatte eine große Macht, und die Erde ward erleuchtet von seiner Klarheit.
And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was enlightened with his glory.
2 Und schrie aus Macht mit großer Stimme und sprach: Sie ist gefallen, sie ist gefallen, Babylon, die große, und eine Behausung der Teufel worden und ein Behältnis aller unreinen Geister und ein Behältnis aller unreinen und feindseligen Vögel.
And he cried with vehemence, and with a loud voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of demons, a den of impure spirits, and a cage for every unclean and hateful bird.
3 Denn von dem Wein des Zorns ihrer Hurerei haben alle Heiden getrunken; und die Könige auf Erden haben mit ihr Hurerei getrieben, und ihre Kaufleute sind reich worden von ihrer großen Wollust.
For all nations have drunk of the wine of her furious whoredom, and the kings of the earth have committed whoredom with her, and the merchants of the earth are grown rich by the abundance of her luxury.
4 Und ich hörete eine andere Stimme vom Himmel, die sprach: Gehet aus von ihr, mein Volk, daß ihr nicht teilhaftig werdet ihrer Sünden, auf daß ihr nicht empfanget etwas von ihren Plagen;
And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out from her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye may not suffer by her plagues:
5 Denn ihre Sünden reichen bis in den Himmel, und Gott denkt an ihren Frevel.
for her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.
6 Bezahlet sie, wie sie euch bezahlet hat, und macht's ihr zwiefältig nach ihren Werken; und mit welchem Kelch sie euch eingeschenket hat, schenket ihr zwiefältig ein.
Give to her as she hath given to you, and repay her double according to her works: in the cup, which she hath mixed, mix for her double.
7 Wieviel sie sich herrlich gemacht und ihren Mutwillen gehabt hat, so viel schenket ihr Qual und Leid ein. Denn sie spricht in ihrem Herzen: Ich sitze und bin eine Königin und werde keine Witwe sein, und Leid werde ich nicht sehen.
As much as she hath glorified herself and indulged to luxury, so much torment and sorrow give her; because she saith in her heart, I sit as a queen, I am not a widow, and I shall see no sorrow.
8 Darum werden ihre Plagen auf einen Tag kommen, der Tod, Leid und Hunger; mit Feuer wird sie verbrannt werden. Denn stark ist Gott der HERR, der sie richten wird.
Therefore in one day shall her plagues come, even death and mourning and famine; and she shall be burnt with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her.
9 Und es werden sie beweinen und sich über sie beklagen die Könige auf Erden, die mit ihr gehuret und Mutwillen getrieben haben, wenn sie sehen werden den Rauch von ihrem Brande.
And the kings of the earth, who have committed lewdness and lived luxuriously with her, shall bemoan her and lament for her, when they see the smoke of her burning;
10 Und werden von ferne stehen vor Furcht ihrer Qual und sprechen: Wehe, wehe, die große Stadt Babylon, die starke Stadt! Auf eine Stunde ist dein Gericht kommen.
standing afar off for fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas, the great city Babylon, that powerful city! for in one hour is thy judgement come.
11 Und die Kaufleute auf Erden werden weinen und Leid tragen bei sich selbst, daß ihre Ware niemand mehr kaufen wird,
And the merchants of the earth shall bewail and mourn over her, because no one will buy their merchandize any more:
12 die Ware des Goldes und Silbers und Edelgesteins und die Perlen und Seide und Purpur und Scharlach und allerlei Thinenholz und allerlei Gefäß von Elfenbein und allerlei Gefäß von köstlichem Holz und von Erz und von Eisen und von Marmor
the lading of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and pearl, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and all sorts of thyine wood, and vessels of ivory, and of the most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble;
13 und Zimt und Thymian und Salben und Weihrauch und Wein und Öl und Semmeln und Weizen und Vieh und Schafe und Pferde und Wagen und Leichname und Seelen der Menschen.
and their cinnamon, and perfumes, and sweet ointment, and incense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and cattle, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, yea and the souls of men.
14 Und das Obst, daran deine Seele Lust hatte, ist von dir gewichen; und alles, was völlig und herrlich war, ist von dir gewichen; und du wirst solches nicht mehr finden.
And the fruits, which thy soul longed after, are gone from thee, and all thy delicate and splendid things are departed, and thou shalt find them no more.
15 Die Kaufleute solcher Ware, die von ihr sind reich worden, werden von ferne stehen vor Furcht ihrer Qual, weinen und klagen
The merchants of these things, who grew rich by their trade with her, shall stand afar off for fear of her torment, weeping and mourning,
16 und sagen: Wehe, wehe! die große Stadt, die bekleidet war mit Seide und Purpur und Scharlach und übergüldet war mit Golde und Edelgestein und Perlen!
and saying, Alas, alas, the great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and adorned with gold, and precious stones, and pearls!
17 Denn in einer Stunde ist verwüstet solcher Reichtum. Und alle Schiffsherren und der Haufe, die auf den Schiffen hantieren, und Schiffsleute, die auf dem Meer hantieren, stunden von ferne
for in one hour is so great wealth laid waste. And every pilot, and all on board the ships, and the mariners, and all that traffic by sea, stood afar off,
18 und schrieen, da sie den Rauch von ihrem Brande sahen, und sprachen: Wer ist gleich der großen Stadt?
and cried out, when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What city is like to this great city?
19 Und sie warfen Staub auf ihre Häupter und schrieen, weineten und klagten und sprachen: Wehe, wehe! die große Stadt, in welcher reich worden sind alle, die da Schiffe im Meer hatten, von ihrer Ware! Denn in einer Stunde ist sie verwüstet.
And they threw dust on their heads, and cried out, weeping and moaning, saying, Alas, alas, that great city, in which all that had ships at sea were enriched by her sumptuous expences! for in one hour she is become desolate.
20 Freue dich über sie, Himmel und ihr heiligen Apostel und Propheten! Denn Gott hat euer Urteil an ihr gerichtet.
Rejoice over her, O heaven, and ye holy apostles and prophets, for God hath avenged you on her.
21 Und ein starker Engel hub einen großen Stein auf als einen Mühlstein warf ihn ins Meer und sprach: Also wird mit einem Sturm verworfen die große Stadt Babylon und nicht mehr erfunden werden.
And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great milstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus shall the great city Babylon be thrown down with violence, and never be found more.
22 Und die Stimme der Sänger und Saitenspieler, Pfeifer und Posaunen soll nicht mehr in dir gehöret werden; und kein Handwerksmann einiges Handwerks soll mehr in dir erfunden werden; und die Stimme der Mühle soll nicht mehr in dir gehöret werden;
And the voice of harpers, and musicians, and pipers, and trumpeters, shall be heard in thee no more: and no artist of any art whatsoever shall be found in thee any more; and the sound of a milstone shall be heard in thee no more.
23 und das Licht der Leuchte soll nicht mehr in dir leuchten; und die Stimme des Bräutigams und der Braut soll nicht mehr in dir gehöret werden; denn deine Kaufleute waren Fürsten auf Erden; denn durch deine Zauberei sind verirret worden alle Heiden.
And the light of a candle shall be seen in thee no more; and the voice of the bridegroom and bride shall be heard no more in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth, and by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.
24 Und das Blut der Propheten und der Heiligen ist in ihr erfunden worden und aller derer, die auf Erden erwürget sind.
And herein was found the blood of prophets and saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.
