Psalm 99

1 Der HERR ist König, darum toben die Völker; er sitzet auf Cherubim, darum reget sich die Welt.

The LORD reigneth; let the peoples tremble; He is enthroned upon the cherubim; let the earth quake.

2 Der HERR ist groß zu Zion und hoch über alle Völker.

The LORD is great in Zion; and He is high above all the peoples.

3 Man danke deinem großen und wunderbarlichen Namen, der da heilig ist.

Let them praise Thy name as great and awful; Holy is He.

4 Im Reich dieses Königs hat man das Recht lieb. Du gibst Frömmigkeit; du schaffest Gericht und Gerechtigkeit in Jakob.

The strength also of the king who loveth justice — Thou hast established equity, Thou hast executed justice and righteousness in Jacob.

5 Erhebet den HERRN, unsern Gott, betet an zu seinem Fußschemel; denn er ist heilig.

Exalt ye the LORD our God, and prostrate yourselves at His footstool; Holy is He.

6 Mose und Aaron unter seinen Priestern und Samuel unter denen, die seinen Namen anrufen; sie riefen an den HERRN, und er erhörete sie.

Moses and Aaron among His priests, and Samuel among them that call upon His name, did call upon the LORD, and He answered them.

7 Er redete mit ihnen durch eine Wolkensäule. Sie hielten seine Zeugnisse und Gebote, die er ihnen gab.

He spoke unto them in the pillar of cloud; they kept His testimonies, and the statute that He gave them.

8 HERR, du bist unser Gott, du erhöretest sie; du, Gott, vergabest ihnen und straftest ihr Tun:

O LORD our God, Thou didst answer them; a forgiving God wast Thou unto them, though Thou tookest vengeance of their misdeeds.

9 Erhöhet den HERRN, unsern Gott, und betet an zu seinem heiligen Berge; denn der HERR, unser Gott, ist heilig:

Exalt ye the LORD our God, and worship at His holy hill; for the LORD our God is holy.
