Psalm 89
1 Eine Unterweisung Ethans, des Esrahiten. Ich will singen von der Gnade des HERRN ewiglich und seine Wahrheit verkündigen mit meinem Munde für und für,
Of understanding, for Ethan the Ezrahite. The mercies of the Lord I will sing for ever. I will shew forth thy truth with my mouth to generation and generation.
2 und sage also: Daß eine ewige Gnade wird aufgehen, und du wirst deine Wahrheit treulich halten im Himmel.
For thou hast said: Mercy shall be built up for ever in the heavens: thy truth shall be prepared in them.
3 Ich habe einen Bund gemacht mit meinem Auserwählten, ich habe David, meinem Knechte, geschworen:
I have made a covenant with my elect: I have sworn to David my servant:
4 Ich will dir ewiglich Samen verschaffen und deinen Stuhl bauen für und für. (Sela)
Thy seed will I settle for ever. And I will build up thy throne unto generation and generation.
5 Und die Himmel werden, HERR, deine Wunder preisen und deine Wahrheit in der Gemeine der Heiligen.
The heavens shall confess thy wonders, O Lord: and thy truth in the church of the saints.
6 Denn wer mag in den Wolken dem HERRN gleich gelten und gleich sein unter den Kindern der Götter dem HERRN?
For who in the clouds can be compared to the Lord: or who among the sons of God shall be like to God?
7 Gott ist fast mächtig in der Sammlung der Heiligen und wunderbarlich über alle, die um ihn sind.
God, who is glorified in the assembly of the saints: great and terrible above all them that are about him.
8 HERR, Gott, Zebaoth, wer ist wie du, ein mächtiger Gott? Und deine Wahrheit ist um dich her.
O Lord God of hosts, who is like to thee? thou art mighty, O Lord, and thy truth is round about thee.
9 Du herrschest über das ungestüme Meer; du stillest seine Wellen, wenn sie sich erheben.
Thou rulest the power of the sea: and appeasest the motion of the waves thereof.
10 Du schlägst Rahab zu Tode; du zerstreuest deine Feinde mit deinem starken Arm.
Thou hast humbled the proud one, as one that is slain: with the arm of thy strength thou hast scattered thy enemies.
11 Himmel und Erde ist dein; du hast gegründet den Erdboden, und was drinnen ist.
Thine are the heavens, and thine is the earth: the world and the fulness thereof thou hast founded:
12 Mitternacht und Mittag hast du geschaffen; Thabor und Hermon jauchzen in deinem Namen.
The north and the sea thou hast created. Thabor and Hermon shall rejoice in thy name:
13 Du hast einen gewaltigen Arm; stark ist deine Hand und hoch ist deine Rechte.
Thy arm is with might. Let thy hand be strengthened, and thy right hand exalted:
14 Gerechtigkeit und Gericht ist deines Stuhls Festung; Gnade und Wahrheit sind vor deinem Angesichte.
Justice and judgment are the preparation of thy throne. Mercy and truth shall go before thy face:
15 Wohl dem Volk, das jauchzen kann! HERR, sie werden im Licht deines Antlitzes wandeln.
Blessed is the people that knoweth jubilation. They shall walk, O Lord, in the light of thy countenance:
16 Sie werden über deinem Namen täglich fröhlich sein und in deiner Gerechtigkeit herrlich sein.
And in thy name they shall rejoice all the day, and in thy justice they shall be exalted.
17 Denn du bist der Ruhm ihrer Stärke und durch deine Gnade wirst du unser Horn erhöhen.
For thou art the glory of their strength: and in thy good pleasure shall our horn be exalted.
18 Denn der HERR ist unser Schild, und der Heilige in Israel ist unser König.
For our protection is of the Lord, and of our king the holy one of Israel.
19 Dazumal redetest du im Gesichte zu deinem Heiligen und sprachest: Ich habe einen Held erwecket, der helfen soll; ich habe erhöhet einen Auserwählten aus dem Volk;
Then thou spokest in a vision to thy saints, and saidst: I have laid help upon one that is mighty, and have exalted one chosen out of my people.
20 ich habe funden meinen Knecht David, ich habe ihn gesalbet mit meinem heiligen Öle.
I have found David my servant: with my holy oil I have anointed him.
21 Meine Hand soll ihn erhalten, und mein Arm soll ihn stärken.
For my hand shall help him: and my arm shall strengthen him.
22 Die Feinde sollen ihn nicht überwältigen, und die Ungerechten sollen ihn nicht dämpfen,
The enemy shall have no advantage over him: nor the son of iniquity have power to hurt him.
23 sondern ich will seine Widersacher schlagen vor ihm her, und die ihn hassen, will ich plagen.
And I will cut down his enemies before his face; and them that hate him I will put to flight.
24 Aber meine Wahrheit und Gnade soll bei ihm sein, und sein Horn soll in meinem Namen erhaben werden.
And my truth and my mercy shall be with him: and in my name shall his horn be exalted.
25 Ich will seine Hand ins Meer stellen und seine Rechte in die Wasser.
And I will set his hand in the sea; and his right hand in the rivers.
26 Er wird mich nennen also: Du bist mein Vater, mein Gott und Hort, der mir hilft.
He shall cry out to me: Thou art my father: my God, and the support of my salvation.
27 Und ich will ihn zum ersten Sohn machen, allerhöchst unter den Königen auf Erden.
And I will make him my firstborn, high above the kings of the earth.
28 Ich will ihm ewiglich behalten meine Gnade, und mein Bund soll ihm fest bleiben.
I will keep my mercy for him for ever: and my covenant faithful to him.
29 Ich will ihm ewiglich Samen geben und seinen Stuhl, solange der Himmel währet, erhalten.
And I will make his seed to endure for evermore: and his throne as the days of heaven.
30 Wo aber seine Kinder mein Gesetz verlassen und in meinen Rechten nicht wandeln,
And if his children forsake my law, and walk not in my judgments:
31 so sie meine Ordnungen entheiligen und meine Gebote nicht halten,
If they profane my justices: and keep not my commandments:
32 will ich ihre Sünde mit der Rute heimsuchen und ihre Missetat mit Plagen.
I will visit their iniquities with a rod: and their sins with stripes.
33 Aber meine Gnade will ich nicht von ihm wenden und meine Wahrheit nicht lassen fehlen.
But my mercy I will not take away from him: nor will I suffer my truth to fail.
34 Ich will meinen Bund nicht entheiligen und nicht ändern, was aus meinem Munde gegangen ist.
Neither will I profane my covenant: and the words that proceed from my mouth I will not make void.
35 Ich habe einst geschworen bei meiner Heiligkeit: Ich will David nicht lügen.
Once have I sworn by my holiness: I will not lie unto David:
36 Sein Same soll ewig sein und sein Stuhl vor mir wie die Sonne;
His seed shall endure for ever.
37 wie der Mond soll er ewiglich erhalten sein und gleichwie der Zeuge in den Wolken gewiß sein. (Sela)
And his throne as the sun before me: and as the moon perfect for ever, and a faithful witness in heaven.
38 Aber nun verstößest du und verwirfest und zürnest mit deinem Gesalbten.
But thou hast rejected and despised: thou hast been angry with thy anointed.
39 Du verstörest den Bund deines Knechtes und trittst seine Krone zu Boden.
Thou hast overthrown the covenant of thy servant: thou hast profaned his sanctuary on the earth.
40 Du zerreißest alle seine Mauern und lässest seine Festen zerbrechen.
Thou hast broken down all his hedges: thou hast made his strength fear.
41 Es rauben ihn alle, die vorübergehen; er ist seinen Nachbarn ein Spott worden.
All that pass by the way have robbed him: he is become a reproach to his neighbours.
42 Du erhöhest die Rechte seiner Widerwärtigen und erfreuest alle seine Feinde.
Thou hast set up the right hand of them that oppress him: thou hast made all his enemies to rejoice.
43 Auch hast du die Kraft seines Schwerts weggenommen und lässest ihn nicht siegen im Streit.
Thou hast turned away the help of his sword; and hast not assisted him in battle.
44 Du zerstörest seine Reinigkeit und wirfest seinen Stuhl zu Boden.
Thou hast made his purification to cease: and thou hast cast his throne down to the ground.
45 Du verkürzest die Zeit seiner Jugend und bedeckest ihn mit Hohn. (Sela)
Thou hast shortened the days of his time: thou hast covered him with confusion.
46 HERR, wie lange willst du dich so gar verbergen und deinen Grimm wie Feuer brennen lassen?
How long, O Lord, turnest thou away unto the end? shall thy anger burn like fire?
47 Gedenke, wie kurz mein Leben ist! Warum willst du alle Menschen umsonst geschaffen haben?
Remember what my substance is for hast thou made all the children of men in vain?
48 Wo ist jemand, der da lebet und den Tod nicht sehe, der seine Seele errette aus der Hölle Hand? (Sela) (Sheol h7585)
Who is the man that shall live, and not see death: that shall deliver his soul from the hand of hell? (Sheol h7585)
49 HERR, wo ist deine vorige Gnade, die du David geschworen hast in deiner Wahrheit?
Lord, where are thy ancient mercies, according to what thou didst swear to David in thy truth?
50 Gedenke, HERR, an die Schmach deiner Knechte, die ich trage in meinem Schoß von so vielen Völkern allen,
Be mindful, O Lord, of the reproach of thy servants (which I have held in my bosom) of many nations:
51 damit dich, HERR, deine Feinde schmähen, damit sie schmähen die Fußtapfen deines Gesalbten.
Wherewith thy enemies have reproached, O Lord; wherewith they have reproached the change of thy anointed.
Blessed be the Lord for evermore. So be it. So be it.
