Psalm 86

1 Ein Gebet Davids. HERR, neige deine Ohren und erhöre mich; denn ich bin elend und arm.

Hear, Adonai, and answer me, for I am poor and needy.

2 Bewahre meine Seele; denn ich bin heilig. Hilf du, mein Gott, deinem Knechte, der sich verläßt auf dich!

Preserve my soul, for I am godly. You, my God, save your servant who trusts in you.

3 HERR, sei mir gnädig; denn ich rufe täglich zu dir.

Show pity on me, Lord, for I call to you all day long.

4 Erfreue die Seele deines Knechts; denn nach dir, HERR, verlanget mich.

Bring joy to the soul of your servant, for to you, Lord, do I lift up my soul.

5 Denn du, HERR, bist gut und gnädig, von großer Güte allen, die dich anrufen.

For you, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive; abundant in cheshed ·loving-kindness· to all those who call on you.

6 Vernimm, HERR, mein Gebet und merke auf die Stimme meines Flehens.

Hear, Adonai, my prayer. Listen to the voice of my petitions.

7 In der Not rufe ich dich an; du wollest mich erhören.

In the day of my trouble I will call on you, for you will answer me.

8 HERR, es ist dir keiner gleich unter den Göttern und ist niemand, der tun kann wie du.

There is no one like you among the deities, Lord, nor any deeds like your deeds.

9 Alle Heiden, die du gemacht hast, werden kommen und vor dir anbeten, HERR, und deinen Namen ehren,

All nations you have made will come and hawa ·bow low, prostrate· to worship before you, Lord. They shall glorify your name.

10 daß du so groß bist und Wunder tust und alleine Gott bist.

For you are great, and do wondrous things. You are God alone.

11 Weise mir, HERR, deinen Weg, daß ich wandele in deiner Wahrheit; erhalte mein Herz bei dem Einigen, daß ich deinen Namen fürchte!

Teach me your way, Adonai. I will walk in your truth. Make my heart undivided to fear your name.

12 Ich danke dir, HERR, mein Gott, von ganzem Herzen und ehre deinen Namen ewiglich.

I will yadah ·extend hands in thankful praise· to you, Lord my God, with my whole heart. I will glorify your name forever more.

13 Denn deine Güte ist groß über mich, und hast meine Seele errettet aus der tiefen Hölle. (Sheol h7585)

For your cheshed ·loving-kindness· is great toward me. You have delivered my soul from the lowest Sheol ·Place of the dead·. (Sheol h7585)

14 Gott, es setzen sich die Stolzen wider mich, und der Haufe der Tyrannen stehet mir nach meiner Seele und haben dich nicht vor Augen.

God, the proud have risen up against me. A company of violent men have sought after my soul, and they don’t hold regard for you before them.

15 Du aber, HERR Gott, bist barmherzig und gnädig, geduldig und von großer Güte und Treue.

But you, Lord, are a merciful and gracious God, slow to anger, and abundant in cheshed ·loving-kindness· and truth.

16 Wende dich zu mir, sei mir gnädig; stärke deinen Knecht mit deiner Macht und hilf dem Sohn deiner Magd!

Turn to me, and have favor on me! Give your strength to your servant. Save the son of your servant.

17 Tu ein Zeichen an mir, daß mir's wohlgehe, daß es sehen, die mich hassen, und sich schämen müssen, daß du mir beistehest, HERR, und tröstest mich.

Show me a sign of your goodness, that those who hate me may see it, and be shamed, because you, Adonai, have helped me, and comforted me.
