Psalm 82

1 Ein Psalm Assaphs. Gott stehet in der Gemeine Gottes und ist Richter unter den Göttern.

A Psalme committed to Aspah. God standeth in the assemblie of gods: hee iudgeth among gods.

2 Wie lange wollt ihr unrecht richten und die Person der Gottlosen vorziehen? (Sela)

How long wil ye iudge vniustly, and accept the persons of the wicked? (Selah)

3 Schaffet Recht dem Armen und dem Waisen und helfet dem Elenden und Dürftigen zum Recht!

Doe right to the poore and fatherlesse: doe iustice to the poore and needie.

4 den Geringen und Armen und erlöset ihn aus der Gottlosen Gewalt!

Deliuer the poore and needie: saue them from the hand of the wicked.

5 Aber sie lassen ihnen nicht sagen und achten's nicht; sie gehen immer hin im Finstern; darum müssen alle Grundfesten des Landes fallen.

They knowe not and vnderstand nothing: they walke in darkenes, albeit all the foundations of the earth be mooued.

6 Ich habe wohl gesagt: Ihr seid Götter und allzumal Kinder des Höchsten;

I haue said, Ye are gods, and ye all are children of the most High.

7 aber ihr werdet sterben wie Menschen und wie ein Tyrann zugrunde gehen.

But ye shall die as a man, and yee princes, shall fall like others.

8 Gott, mache dich auf und richte das Land; denn du bist Erbherr über alle Heiden.

O God, arise, therefore iudge thou the earth: for thou shalt inherite all nations.
