Psalm 69
1 Ein Psalm Davids von den Rosen, vorzusingen. Gott, hilf mir; denn das Wasser gehet mir bis an die Seele.
Unto the end. For those who will be changed: of David. Save me, O God, for the waters have entered, even to my soul.
2 Ich versinke in tiefem Schlamm, da kein Grund ist; ich bin im tiefen Wasser, und die Flut will mich ersäufen.
I have become stuck in a deep quagmire, and there is no firm footing. I have arrived at the height of the sea, and a tempest has overwhelmed me.
3 Ich habe mich müde geschrieen, mein Hals ist heisch; das Gesicht vergehet mir, daß ich so lange muß harren auf meinen Gott.
I have endured hardships, while crying out. My jaws have become hoarse; my eyes have failed. Meanwhile, I hope in my God.
4 Die mich ohne Ursache hassen, der ist mehr, denn ich Haare auf dem Haupt habe. Die mir unbillig feind sind und mich verderben, sind mächtig. Ich muß bezahlen, das ich nicht geraubt habe.
Those who hate me without cause have been multiplied beyond the hairs of my head. My enemies, who persecuted me unjustly, have been strengthened. Then I was required to pay for what I did not take.
5 Gott, du weißest meine Torheit, und meine Schulden sind dir nicht verborgen.
O God, you know my foolishness, and my offenses have not been hidden from you.
6 Laß nicht zuschanden werden an mir, die dein harren, HERR, HERR Zebaoth! Laß nicht schamrot werden an mir, die dich suchen, Gott Israels!
Let those who wait for you, O Lord, the Lord of hosts, not be shamed in me. Let those who seek you, O God of Israel, not be confounded over me.
7 Denn um deinetwillen trage ich Schmach, mein Angesicht ist voller Schande.
For because of you, I have endured reproach; confusion has covered my face.
8 Ich bin fremd worden meinen Brüdern und unbekannt meiner Mutter Kindern.
I have become a stranger to my brothers and a sojourner to the sons of my mother.
9 Denn ich eifere mich schier zu Tod um dein Haus; und die Schmach derer, die dich schmähen, fallen auf mich.
For zeal for your house has consumed me, and the reproaches of those who reproached you have fallen upon me.
10 Und ich weine und faste bitterlich; und man spottet mein dazu.
And I covered my soul with fasting, and it has become a reproach to me.
11 Ich hab einen Sack angezogen; aber sie treiben das Gespött draus.
And I put on a haircloth as my garment, and I became a parable to them.
12 Die im Tor sitzen, waschen von mir, und in den Zechen singet man von mir.
Those who sat at the gate spoke against me, and those who drank wine made me their song.
13 Ich aber bete, HERR, zu dir zur angenehmen Zeit. Gott, durch deine große Güte, erhöre mich mit deiner treuen Hilfe!
But as for me, truly, my prayer is to you, O Lord. This time has pleased you well, O God. In the multitude of your mercy, in the truth of your salvation, hear me.
14 Errette mich aus dem Kot, daß ich nicht versinke, daß ich errettet werde von meinen Hassern und aus dem tiefen Wasser,
Rescue me from the quagmire, so that I may not become trapped. Free me from those who hate me and from deep waters.
15 daß mich die Wasserflut nicht ersäufe und die Tiefe nicht verschlinge und das Loch der Grube nicht über mir zusammengehe.
Do not allow the tempest of water to submerge me, nor the deep to absorb me. And do not allow the well to close in on me.
16 Erhöre mich, HERR, denn deine Güte ist tröstlich; wende dich zu mir nach deiner großen Barmherzigkeit
Hear me, O Lord, for your mercy is kind. Look upon me, according to the fullness of your compassion.
17 und verbirg dein Angesicht nicht vor deinem Knechte; denn mir ist angst; erhöre mich eilend!
And do not turn your face away from your servant, for I am in trouble: heed me quickly.
18 Mache dich zu meiner Seele und erlöse sie; erlöse mich um meiner Feinde willen!
Attend to my soul, and free it. Rescue me, because of my enemies.
19 Du weißest meine Schmach, Schande und Scham; meine Widersacher sind alle vor dir.
You know my reproach, and my confusion, and my reverence.
20 Die Schmach bricht mir mein Herz und kränket mich. Ich warte, ob es jemand jammerte, aber da ist niemand; und auf Tröster, aber ich finde keine.
All those who trouble me are in your sight; my heart has anticipated reproach and misery. And I sought for one who might grieve together with me, but there was no one, and for one who might console me, and I found no one.
21 Und sie geben mir Galle zu essen und Essig zu trinken in meinem großen Durst.
And they gave me gall for my food. And in my thirst, they gave me vinegar to drink.
22 Ihr Tisch müsse vor ihnen zum Strick werden, zur Vergeltung und zu einer Falle!
Let their table be a snare before them, and a retribution, and a scandal.
23 Ihre Augen müssen finster werden, daß sie nicht sehen; und ihre Lenden laß immer wanken!
Let their eyes be darkened, so that they may not see, and may their back always be crooked.
24 Geuß deine Ungnade auf sie, und dein grimmiger Zorn ergreife sie!
Pour out your indignation upon them, and may the fury of your anger take hold of them.
25 Ihre Wohnung müsse wüste werden, und sei niemand, der in ihren Hütten wohne!
May their dwelling place be deserted, and may there be no one who dwells in their tabernacles.
26 Denn sie verfolgen, den du geschlagen hast, und rühmen, daß du die Deinen übel schlagest.
For they persecuted whomever you struck. And they have added to the grief of my wounds.
27 Laß sie in eine Sünde über die andere fallen, daß sie nicht kommen zu deiner Gerechtigkeit.
Assign an iniquity upon their iniquity, and may they not enter into your justice.
28 Tilge sie aus dem Buch der Lebendigen, daß sie mit den Gerechten nicht angeschrieben werden.
Delete them from the Book of the Living, and let them not be written down with the just.
29 Ich aber bin elend, und mir ist wehe. Gott, deine Hilfe schütze mich!
I am poor and sorrowful, but your salvation, O God, has taken me up.
30 Ich will den Namen Gottes loben mit einem Liede und will ihn hoch ehren mit Dank.
I will praise the name of God with a canticle, and I will magnify him with praise.
31 Das wird dem HERRN baß gefallen denn ein Farr, der Hörner und Klauen hat.
And it will please God more than a new calf producing horns and hoofs.
32 Die Elenden sehen und freuen sich; und die Gott suchen, denen wird das Herz leben.
Let the poor see and rejoice. Seek God, and your soul will live.
33 Denn der HERR höret die Armen und verachtet seine Gefangenen nicht.
For the Lord has heard the poor, and he has not despised his prisoners.
34 Es lobe ihn Himmel, Erde und Meer und alles, was sich drinnen reget.
Let the heavens and the earth praise him: the sea, and everything that crawls in it.
35 Denn Gott wird Zion helfen und die Städte Judas bauen, daß man daselbst wohne und sie besitze.
For God will save Zion, and the cities of Judah will be built up. And they will dwell there, and they will acquire it by inheritance.
And the offspring of his servants will possess it; and those who love his name will dwell in it.
