Psalm 62
1 Ein Psalm Davids für Jeduthun, vorzusingen. Meine Seele ist stille zu Gott, der mir hilft.
To the Chief Musician. On Jeduthun—A Melody of David. Surely, towards God, silence [becometh] my soul, From him, is my salvation:
2 Denn er ist mein Hort, meine Hilfe, mein Schutz, daß mich kein Fall stürzen wird, wie groß er ist.
Surely, he, is my rock and my salvation, My high tower—I shall not be greatly shaken!
3 Wie lange stellet ihr alle einem nach, daß ihr ihn erwürget, als eine hangende Wand und zerrissene Mauer?
How long will ye shout at a man? Ye shall be crushed all of you, —Like a wall that bulgeth, —a fence pushed in!
4 Sie denken nur, wie sie ihn dämpfen, fleißigen sich der Lüge, geben gute Worte, aber im Herzen fluchen sie. (Sela)
Surely, from his elevation, they have taken counsel to thrust him down, They accept falsehood, —With his mouth, they each of them bless, But, inwardly, they revile. (Selah)
5 Aber meine Seele harret nur auf Gott; denn er ist meine Hoffnung.
Surely, towards God, be thou silent, my soul, For, from him, is mine expectation:
6 Er ist mein Hort, meine Hilfe und mein Schutz, daß ich nicht fallen werde.
Surely, he, is my rock, and my salvation, My high tower—I shall not be shaken!
7 Bei Gott ist mein Heil, meine Ehre, der Fels meiner Stärke; meine Zuversicht ist auf Gott.
Upon God, [depend] my salvation and mine honour, My rock of strength, my refuge, are in God.
8 Hoffet auf ihn allezeit, lieben Leute, schüttet euer Herz vor ihm aus! Gott ist unsere Zuversicht. (Sela)
Trust ye in him all ye assembly of the people, Pour out, before him, your heart, God, is a refuge for us. (Selah)
9 Aber Menschen sind doch ja nichts, große Leute fehlen auch; sie wägen weniger denn nichts, soviel ihrer ist.
Surely, vanity, are men of low degree, Deception, men of high degree, —In the balances, they go up, They, are [made] of vanity, altogether.
10 Verlasset euch nicht auf Unrecht und Frevel; haltet euch nicht zu solchem, das nichts ist. Fällt euch Reichtum zu, so hänget das Herz nicht dran.
Do not trust in extortion, Nor, with robbery, become vain, As for wealth, when it beareth fruit, Do not set [thereon your] heart.
11 Gott hat ein Wort geredet, das habe ich etlichemal gehöret, daß Gott allein mächtig ist.
One thing, hath God spoken, Two things, [there are] which I have heard, That, power, belongeth unto God;
And, thine, O My Lord, is lovingkindness, —For, thou, wilt pay back unto every man—according to his deed.
