Psalm 59
1 Ein gülden Kleinod Davids, daß er nicht umkäme, da Saul hinsandte und ließ sein Haus bewahren, daß er ihn tötete. Errette mich, mein Gott, von meinen Feinden und schütze mich vor denen, so sich wider mich setzen!
To the chief Musician, Altaschith, Michtam of David; when Saul sent, and they watched the house to kill him. Deliver me from my enemies, O my God: defend me from them that rise up against me.
2 Errette mich von den Übeltätern und hilf mir von den Blutgierigen!
Deliver me from the workers of iniquity, and save me from bloody men.
3 Denn siehe, HERR, sie lauern auf meine Seele; die Starken sammeln sich wider mich ohne meine Schuld und Missetat.
For, lo, they lie in wait for my soul: the mighty are gathered against me; not for my transgression, nor for my sin, O LORD.
4 Sie laufen ohne meine Schuld und bereiten sich. Erwache und begegne mir und siehe drein!
They run and prepare themselves without my fault: awake to help me, and behold.
5 Du, HERR, Gott Zebaoth, Gott Israels, wache auf und suche heim alle Heiden; sei der keinem gnädig, die so verwegene Übeltäter sind! (Sela)
Thou therefore, O LORD God of hosts, the God of Israel, awake to visit all the heathen: be not merciful to any wicked transgressors. (Selah)
6 Des Abends laß sie wiederum auch heulen wie die Hunde und in der Stadt umherlaufen.
They return at evening: they make a noise like a dog, and go about the city.
7 Siehe, sie plaudern miteinander; Schwerter sind in ihren Lippen: Wer sollt es hören?
Behold, they belch out with their mouth: swords are in their lips: for who, say they, doth hear?
8 Aber du, HERR, wirst ihrer lachen und aller Heiden spotten.
But thou, O LORD, shalt laugh at them; thou shalt have all the heathen in derision.
9 Vor ihrer Macht halt ich mich zu dir; denn Gott ist mein Schutz.
Because of his strength will I wait upon thee: for God is my defence.
10 Gott erzeigt mir reichlich seine Güte; Gott läßt mich meine Lust sehen an meinen Feinden.
The God of my mercy shall help me: God shall let me see my desire upon my enemies.
11 Erwürge sie nicht, daß es mein Volk nicht vergesse; zerstreue sie aber mit deiner Macht, HERR, unser Schild, und stoße sie hinunter!
Slay them not, lest my people forget: scatter them by thy power; and bring them down, O Lord our shield.
12 Ihre Lehre ist eitel Sünde, und verharren in ihrer Hoffart und predigen eitel Fluchen und Widersprechen.
For the sin of their mouth and the words of their lips let them even be taken in their pride: and for cursing and lying which they speak.
13 Vertilge sie ohne alle Gnade! Vertilge sie, daß sie nichts seien und inne werden, daß Gott HERRSCher sei in Jakob, in aller Welt. (Sela)
Consume them in wrath, consume them, that they may not be: and let them know that God ruleth in Jacob to the ends of the earth. (Selah)
14 Des Abends laß sie wiederum auch heulen wie die Hunde und in der Stadt umherlaufen.
And at evening let them return; and let them make a noise like a dog, and go about the city.
15 Laß sie hin und herlaufen um Speise und murren, wenn sie nicht satt werden.
Let them wander up and down for food, and murmur if they are not satisfied.
16 Ich aber will von deiner Macht singen und des Morgens rühmen deine Güte; denn du bist mein Schutz und Zuflucht in meiner Not.
But I will sing of thy power; yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning: for thou hast been my defence and refuge in the day of my trouble.
To thee, O my strength, will I sing: for God is my defence, and the God of my mercy.
