Psalm 46
1 Ein Lied der Kinder Korah von der Jugend, vorzusingen. Gott ist unsere Zuversicht und Stärke, eine Hilfe in den großen Nöten, die uns getroffen haben.
To the Overseer. — By sons of Korah. 'For the Virgins.' — A song. God [is] to us a refuge and strength, A help in adversities found most surely.
2 Darum fürchten wir uns nicht, wenngleich die Welt unterginge und die Berge mitten ins Meer sänken,
Therefore we fear not in the changing of earth, And in the slipping of mountains Into the heart of the seas.
3 wenngleich das Meer wütete und wallete und von seinem Ungestüm die Berge einfielen. (Sela)
Roar — troubled are its waters, Mountains they shake in its pride. (Selah)
4 Dennoch soll die Stadt Gottes fein lustig bleiben mit ihren Brünnlein, da die heiligen Wohnungen des Höchsten sind.
A river — its rivulets rejoice the city of God, Thy holy place of the tabernacles of the Most High.
5 Gott ist bei ihr drinnen, darum wird sie wohl bleiben; Gott hilft ihr frühe.
God [is] in her midst — she is not moved, God doth help her at the turn of the morn!
6 Die Heiden müssen verzagen und die Königreiche fallen; das Erdreich muß vergehen, wenn er sich hören läßt.
Troubled have been nations, Moved have been kingdoms, He hath given forth with His voice, earth melteth.
7 Der HERR Zebaoth ist mit uns, der Gott Jakobs ist unser Schutz. (Sela)
Jehovah of Hosts [is] with us, A tower for us [is] the God of Jacob. (Selah)
8 Kommt her und schauet die Werke des HERRN, der auf Erden solch Zerstören anrichtet,
Come ye, see the works of Jehovah, Who hath done astonishing things in the earth,
9 der den Kriegen steuert in aller Welt, der Bogen zerbricht, Spieße zerschlägt und Wagen mit Feuer verbrennt.
Causing wars to cease, Unto the end of the earth, the bow he shivereth, And the spear He hath cut asunder, Chariots he doth burn with fire.
10 Seid stille und erkennet, daß ich Gott bin! Ich will Ehre einlegen unter den Heiden, ich will Ehre einlegen auf Erden.
Desist, and know that I [am] God, I am exalted among nations, I am exalted in the earth.
Jehovah of hosts [is] with us, A tower for us [is] the God of Jacob! (Selah)
