Psalm 146

1 Halleluja! Lobe den HERRN, meine Seele!

Alleluia, of Aggeus and Zacharias.

2 Ich will den HERRN loben, so lange ich lebe, und meinem Gott lobsingen, weil ich hie bin.

Praise the Lord, O my soul, in my life I will praise the Lord: I will sing to my God as long as I shall be. Put not your trust in princes:

3 Verlasset euch nicht auf Fürsten; sie sind Menschen, die können ja nicht helfen.

In the children of men, in whom there is no salvation.

4 Denn des Menschen Geist muß davon, und er muß wieder zu Erde werden; alsdann sind verloren alle seine Anschläge.

His spirit shall go forth, and he shall return into his earth: in that day all their thoughts shall perish.

5 Wohl dem, des Hilfe der Gott Jakobs ist, des Hoffnung auf dem HERRN, seinem Gott, stehet,

Blessed is he who hath the God of Jacob for his helper, whose hope is in the Lord his God:

6 der Himmel, Erde, Meer und alles, was drinnen ist, gemacht hat; der Glauben hält ewiglich;

Who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all things that are in them.

7 der Recht schaffet denen, so Gewalt leiden; der die Hungrigen speiset. Der HERR löset die Gefangenen.

Who keepeth truth for ever: who executeth judgment for them that suffer wrong: who giveth food to the hungry. The Lord looseth them that are fettered:

8 Der HERR macht die Blinden sehend. Der HERR richtet auf, die niedergeschlagen sind. Der HERR liebet die Gerechten.

The Lord enlighteneth the blind. The Lord lifteth up them that are cast down: the Lord loveth the just.

9 Der HERR behütet Fremdlinge und Waisen und erhält die Witwen; und kehret zurück den Weg der Gottlosen.

The Lord keepeth the strangers, he will support the fatherless and the widow: and the ways of sinners he will destroy.

10 Der HERR ist König ewiglich, dein Gott, Zion, für und für. Halleluja!

The Lord shall reign for ever: thy God, O Sion, unto generation and generation.
