Psalm 139
1 Ein Psalm Davids, vorzusingen. HERR, du erforschest mich und kennest mich.
To him that excelleth. A Psalme of David. O Lord, thou hast tried me and knowen me.
2 Ich sitze oder stehe auf, so weißest du es: du verstehest meine Gedanken von ferne.
Thou knowest my sitting and my rising: thou vnderstandest my thought afarre off.
3 Ich gehe oder liege, so bist du um mich und siehest alle meine Wege.
Thou compassest my pathes, and my lying downe, and art accustomed to all my wayes.
4 Denn siehe, es ist kein Wort auf meiner Zunge, das du, HERR, nicht alles wissest.
For there is not a word in my tongue, but loe, thou knowest it wholy, O Lord.
5 Du schaffest es, was ich vor oder hernach tue, und hältst deine Hand über mir.
Thou holdest mee straite behinde and before, and layest thine hand vpon me.
6 Solche Erkenntnis ist mir zu wunderlich und zu hoch; ich kann's nicht begreifen.
Thy knowledge is too wonderfull for mee: it is so high that I cannot attaine vnto it.
7 Wo soll ich hingehen vor deinem Geist und wo soll ich hinfliehen vor deinem Angesicht?
Whither shall I goe from thy Spirite? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?
8 Führe ich gen Himmel, so bist du da. Bettete ich mir in die Hölle, siehe, so bist du auch da. (Sheol h7585)
If I ascende into heauen, thou art there: if I lye downe in hell, thou art there. (Sheol h7585)
9 Nähme ich Flügel der Morgenröte und bliebe am äußersten Meer,
Let mee take the winges of the morning, and dwell in the vttermost parts of the sea:
10 so würde mich doch deine Hand daselbst führen und deine Rechte mich halten.
Yet thither shall thine hand leade me, and thy right hand holde me.
11 Spräche ich: Finsternis möge mich decken, so muß die Nacht auch Licht um mich sein;
If I say, Yet the darkenes shall hide me, euen the night shalbe light about me.
12 denn auch Finsternis nicht finster ist bei dir, und die Nacht leuchtet wie der Tag, Finsternis ist wie das Licht.
Yea, the darkenes hideth not from thee: but the night shineth as the day: the darkenes and light are both alike.
13 Denn du hast meine Nieren in deiner Gewalt, du warest über mir in Mutterleibe.
For thou hast possessed my reines: thou hast couered me in my mothers wombe.
14 Ich danke dir darüber, daß ich wunderbarlich gemacht bin; wunderbarlich sind deine Werke, und das erkennet meine Seele wohl.
I will praise thee, for I am fearefully and wonderously made: marueilous are thy workes, and my soule knoweth it well.
15 Es war dir mein Gebein nicht verhohlen, da ich im Verborgenen gemacht ward, da ich gebildet ward unten in der Erde.
My bones are not hid from thee, though I was made in a secret place, and facioned beneath in the earth.
16 Deine Augen sahen mich, da ich noch unbereitet war, und waren alle Tage auf dein Buch geschrieben, die noch werden sollten, und derselben keiner da war.
Thine eyes did see me, when I was without forme: for in thy booke were all things written, which in continuance were facioned, when there was none of them before.
17 Aber wie köstlich sind vor mir, Gott, deine Gedanken! Wie ist ihrer so eine große Summa!
Howe deare therefore are thy thoughtes vnto me, O God! how great is ye summe of them!
18 Sollt ich sie zählen, so würde ihrer mehr sein denn des Sandes. Wenn ich aufwache, bin ich noch bei dir.
If I should count them, they are moe then the sand: when I wake, I am still with thee.
19 Ach, Gott, daß du tötetest die Gottlosen, und die Blutgierigen von mir weichen müßten!
Oh that thou wouldest slay, O God, the wicked and bloody men, to whom I say, Depart ye from mee:
20 Denn sie reden von dir lästerlich, und deine Feinde erheben sich ohne Ursache.
Which speake wickedly of thee, and being thine enemies are lifted vp in vaine.
21 Ich hasse ja, HERR, die dich hassen, und verdreußt mich auf sie, daß sie sich wider dich setzen.
Doe not I hate them, O Lord, that hate thee? and doe not I earnestly contend with those that rise vp against thee?
22 Ich hasse sie in rechtem Ernst; darum sind sie mir feind.
I hate them with an vnfained hatred, as they were mine vtter enemies.
23 Erforsche mich, Gott, und erfahre mein Herz; prüfe mich und erfahre, wie ich's meine;
Try mee, O God, and knowe mine heart: prooue me and know my thoughtes,
24 und siehe, ob ich auf bösem Wege bin, und leite mich auf ewigem Wege.
And consider if there be any way of wickednes in me, and leade me in the way for euer.
