Psalm 109
1 Ein Psalm Davids, vorzusingen. Gott, mein Ruhm, schweige nicht!
For the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. Hold not thy peace, O God of my praise;
2 Denn sie haben ihr gottloses und falsches Maul wider mich aufgetan und reden wider mich mit falscher Zunge.
For the mouth of the wicked and the mouth of deceit have they opened against me: they have spoken unto me with a lying tongue.
3 Und sie reden giftig wider mich allenthalben und streiten wider mich ohne Ursache.
They compassed me about also with words of hatred, and fought against me without a cause.
4 Dafür, daß ich sie liebe, sind sie wider mich; ich aber bete.
For my love they are my adversaries: but I [give myself unto] prayer.
5 Sie beweisen mir Böses um Gutes und Haß um Liebe.
And they have rewarded me evil for good, and hatred for my love.
6 Setze Gottlose über ihn; und der Satan müsse stehen zu seiner Rechten!
Set thou a wicked man over him: and let an adversary stand at his right hand.
7 Wer sich denselben lehren läßt, des Leben müsse gottlos sein, und sein Gebet müsse Sünde sein.
When he is judged, let him come forth guilty; and let his prayer be turned into sin.
8 Seiner Tage müssen wenig werden, und sein Amt müsse ein anderer empfangen.
Let his days be few; [and] let another take his office.
9 Seine Kinder müssen Waisen werden und sein Weib eine Witwe.
Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow.
10 Seine Kinder müssen in der Irre gehen und betteln und suchen, als die verdorben sind.
Let his children be vagabonds, and beg; and let them seek [their bread] out of their desolate places.
11 Es müsse der Wucherer aussaugen alles, was er hat; und Fremde müssen seine Güter rauben.
Let the extortioner catch all that he hath; and let strangers make spoil of his labour.
12 Und niemand müsse ihm Gutes tun, und niemand erbarme sich seiner Waisen.
Let there be none to extend mercy unto him; neither let there be any to have pity on his fatherless children.
13 Seine Nachkommen müssen ausgerottet werden; ihr Name müsse im andern Glied vertilget werden.
Let his posterity be cut off; in the generation following let their name be blotted out.
14 Seiner Väter Missetat müsse gedacht werden vor dem HERRN, und seiner Mutter Sünde müsse nicht ausgetilget werden.
Let the iniquity of his fathers be remembered with the LORD; and let not the sin of his mother be blotted out.
15 Der HERR müsse sie nimmer aus den Augen lassen, und ihr Gedächtnis müsse ausgerottet werden auf Erden,
Let them be before the LORD continually, that he may cut off the memory of them from the earth.
16 darum daß er so gar keine Barmherzigkeit hatte, sondern verfolgte den Elenden und Armen und den Betrübten, daß er ihn tötete.
Because that he remembered not to shew mercy, but persecuted the poor and needy man, and the broken in heart, to slay [them].
17 Und er wollte den Fluch haben, der wird ihm auch kommen; er wollte des Segens nicht, so wird er auch ferne von ihm bleiben.
Yea, he loved cursing, and it came unto him; and he delighted not in blessing, and it was far from him.
18 Und zog an den Fluch wie sein Hemd; und ist in sein Inwendiges gegangen wie Wasser und wie Öl in seine Gebeine.
He clothed himself also with cursing as with his garment, and it came into his inward parts like water, and like oil into his bones. Let it be unto him as the raiment
19 So werde er ihm wie ein Kleid, das er anhabe, und wie ein Gürtel, da er sich allewege mit gürte.
wherewith he covereth himself, and for the girdle wherewith he is girded continually.
20 So geschehe denen vorn HERRN, die mir wider sind, und reden Böses wider meine Seele.
This is the reward of mine adversaries from the LORD, and of them that speak evil against my soul.
21 Aber du, HERR HERR, sei du mit mir um deines Namens willen; denn deine Gnade ist mein Trost; errette mich!
But deal thou with me, O GOD the Lord, for thy name’s sake: because thy mercy is good, deliver thou me,
22 Denn ich bin arm und elend; mein Herz ist erschlagen in mir.
For I am poor and needy, and my heart is wounded within me.
23 Ich fahre dahin wie ein Schatten, der vertrieben wird, und werde verjaget wie die Heuschrecken.
I am gone like the shadow when it declineth: I am tossed up and down as the locust.
24 Meine Kniee sind schwach von Fasten; und mein Fleisch ist mager und hat kein Fett.
My knees are weak through fasting; and my flesh faileth of fatness.
25 Und ich muß ihr Spott sein; wenn sie mich sehen, schütteln sie ihren Kopf.
I am become also a reproach unto them: when they see me, they shake their head.
26 Stehe mir bei, HERR, mein Gott; hilf mir nach deiner Gnade,
Help me, O LORD my God; O save me according to thy mercy:
27 daß sie inne werden, daß dies sei deine Hand, daß du, HERR, solches tust.
That they may know that this is thy hand; [that] thou, LORD, hast done it.
28 Fluchen sie, so segne du. Setzen sie sich wider mich, so müssen sie zuschanden werden; aber dein Knecht müsse sich freuen.
Let them curse, but bless thou: when they arise, they shall be ashamed, but thy servant shall rejoice.
29 Meine Widersacher müssen mit Schmach angezogen werden und mit ihrer Schande bekleidet werden wie mit einem Rock.
Let mine adversaries be clothed with dishonour, and let them cover themselves with their own shame as with a mantle.
30 Ich will dem HERRN sehr danken mit meinem Munde und ihn rühmen unter vielen;
I will give great thanks unto the LORD with my mouth; yea, I will praise him among the multitude.
31 denn er stehet dem Armen zur Rechten, daß er ihm helfe von denen, die sein Leben verurteilen.
For he shall stand at the right hand of the needy, to save him from them that judge his soul.
