4 Mose 8

1 Und der HERR redete mit Mose und sprach:

And Yahweh spake unto Moses saying:

2 Rede mit Aaron und sprich zu ihm: Wenn du die Lampen aufsetzest, sollst du sie also setzen, daß sie alle sieben vorwärts dem Leuchter scheinen.

Speak unto Aaron, and thou shalt say unto him, —When thou lightest up the lamps, over against the front of the lampstand, shall the seven lamps give light.

3 Und Aaron tat also. Und setzte die Lampen auf, vorwärts dem Leuchter zu scheinen, wie der HERR Mose geboten hatte.

And Aaron did so, over against the front of the lampstand, lighted he up the lamps thereof, —As Yahweh commanded Moses,

4 Der Leuchter aber war dicht Gold, beide sein Schaft und seine Blumen; nach dem Gesicht, das der HERR Mose gezeiget hatte, also machte er den Leuchter.

Now, this, was the work of the lampstand—beaten work of gold both in the shaft thereof and in the flowers thereof, was it beaten work, according to the appearance which Yahweh caused to appear unto Moses, so, made he the lampstand.

5 Und der HERR redete mit Mose und sprach:

And Yahweh spake unto Moses, saying:

6 Nimm die Leviten aus den Kindern Israel und reinige sie.

Take the Levites, out of the midst of the sons of Israel, —and thou shalt purify them.

7 Also sollst du aber mit ihnen tun, daß du sie reinigest: Du sollst Sündwasser auf sie sprengen, und sollen alle ihre Haare rein abscheren und ihre Kleider waschen, so sind sie rein.

And, thus, shalt thou do unto them, to purify them, sprinkle upon them sin-cleansing water, —then shall they, cause a razor to pass over all their flesh, and shall wash their clothes and so make themselves pure.

8 Dann sollen sie nehmen einen jungen Farren und sein Speisopfer, Semmelmehl, mit Öl gemenget, und einen anderen jungen Farren sollst du zum Sündopfer nehmen,

Then shall they take a choice young bullock, with the meal-offering thereof even fine meal overflowed with oil, —and a second choice young bullock, shalt thou take. as a sin-bearer.

9 Und sollst die Leviten vor die Hütte des Stifts bringen und die ganze Gemeine der Kinder Israel versammeln

Then shalt thou bring the Levites near, before the tent of meeting, —and shalt call together all the assembly of the sons of Israel;

10 und die Leviten vor den HERRN bringen; und die Kinder Israel sollen ihre Hände auf die Leviten legen.

and shalt bring the Levites near before Yahweh, —and the sons of Israel shall lean their hands upon the Levites;

11 Und Aaron soll die Leviten vor dem HERRN weben von den Kindern Israel, auf daß sie dienen mögen an dem Amt des HERRN.

and Aaron shall offer the Levites as a wave-offering before Yahweh, from among the sons of Israel, —so shall they be for performing the laborious work of Yahweh.

12 Und die Leviten sollen ihre Hände aufs Haupt der Farren legen; und einer soll zum Sündopfer, der andere zum Brandopfer dem HERRN gemacht werden, die Leviten zu versöhnen.

And, the Levites, shall lean their hands upon the head of the bullocks; then make thou of the one a sin-bearer and of the other an ascending-sacrifice unto Yahweh, to put a propitiatory-covering over the Levites.

13 Und sollst die Leviten vor Aaron und seine Söhne stellen und vor dem HERRN weben.

Thus shalt thou cause the Levites to stand before Aaron and before his sons, —thus shalt thou offer them as a wave-offering unto Yahweh;

14 Und sollst sie also sondern von den Kindern Israel, daß sie mein seien.

thus shalt thou separate the Levites out of the midst of the sons of Israel, —thus shall the Levites become mine.

15 Danach sollen sie hineingehen, daß sie dienen in der Hütte des Stifts. Also sollst du sie reinigen und weben.

And after that, shall the Levites enter to do the labour of the tent of meeting, —so shalt thou purify them, and offer them as a wave-offering,

16 Denn sie sind mein Geschenk von den Kindern Israel und habe sie mir genommen für alles, das seine Mutter bricht, nämlich für die Erstgeburt aller Kinder

For, given, given, they are unto me, out of the midst of the sons of Israel, —instead of every firstborn that a mother beareth from among the sons of Israel, have I taken them unto me.

17 Denn alle Erstgeburt unter den Kindern Israel ist mein, beide der Menschen und des Viehes, seit der Zeit ich alle Erstgeburt in Ägyptenland schlug, und heiligte sie mir,

For mine, is every firstborn among the sons of Israel, among men and among beasts, —on the day when I smote every firstborn in the land of Egypt, did I hallow them unto me.

18 und nahm die Leviten an für alle Erstgeburt unter den Kindern Israel

Therefore have I taken the Levites, —instead of every firstborn among the sons of Israel;

19 und gab sie zum Geschenk Aaron und seinen Söhnen aus den Kindern Israel, daß sie dienen am Amt der Kinder Israel in der Hütte des Stifts, die Kinder Israel zu versöhnen, auf daß nicht unter den Kindern Israel sei eine Plage, so sie sich nahen wollten zum Heiligtum.

therefore have I given the Levites as a gift unto Aaron and unto his sons, out of the midst of the sons of Israel, to do the laborious work of the sons of Israel in the tent of meeting, and to put a propitiatory-covering over the sons of Israel, —so shall there be among the sons of Israel, no plague, by the coming nigh of the sons of Israel unto the sanctuary.

20 Und Mose mit Aaron samt der ganzen Gemeine der Kinder Israel taten mit den Leviten alles, wie der HERR Mose geboten hatte.

And Moses and Aaron and all the assembly of the sons of Israel did thus unto the Levites, —according to all that Yahweh commanded Moses as touching the Levites, so, did the sons of Israel unto them.

21 Und die Leviten entsündigten sich und wuschen ihre Kleider, und Aaron webte sie vor dem HERRN und versöhnete sie, daß sie rein wurden.

And the Levites accepted the cleansing from sin and washed their clothes, and Aaron offered them as a wave-offering before Yahweh, —and Aaron put a propitiatory-covering over them to make them pure.

22 Danach gingen sie hinein, daß sie ihr Amt täten in der Hütte des Stifts vor Aaron und seinen Söhnen. Wie der HERR Mose geboten hatte über die Leviten, also taten sie mit ihnen.

And after that, went the Levites in to do their laborious work in the tent of meeting, before Aaron and before his sons, —as Yahweh commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so, did they unto them.

23 Und der HERR redete mit Mose und sprach:

And Yahweh spake unto Moses saying;

24 Das ist's, das den Leviten gebührt: Von fünfundzwanzig Jahren und drüber taugen sie zum Heer und Dienst in der Hütte des Stifts.

This is what concerneth the Levites, —from twenty-five years old and upwards, shall they enter to take rank in the host, for doing the laborious work of the tent of meeting;

25 Aber von dem fünfzigsten Jahr an sollen sie ledig sein vom Amt des Dienstes und sollen nicht mehr dienen,

but from the age of fifty years, shall they retire from taking rank in the labour, and shall do laborious work no more;

26 sondern auf den Dienst ihrer Brüder warten in der Hütte des Stifts; des Amts aber sollen sie nicht pflegen. Also sollst du mit den Leviten tun, daß ein jeglicher seiner Hut warte.

yet shall they wait upon their brethren in the tent of meeting, by keeping charge, but laborious work, shall they not perform, —thus, shalt thou do unto the Levites, as touching their charges.
